Well I ended up going on my first dress shopping experience today - needless to say that none jumped right out at me.

Here are some of the dresses - don't mind the bra straps...lol (or the facial expressions).

I agree with your girls - the last one is my favorite. But I agree that the rest aren't "wowing." You have a great figure, and a lot of the dresses you tried on seemed to hit in the wrong place and made you look bigger and boxier than you are (you can tell by the last dress, which looks great on you!)

The more you try on, the more you'll discover what types of dresses look good on you.

Good luck!!!!!

I have 2 favorites - the last one in your first post is my absolute favorite. BEAUTIFUL! Second favorite is the one everyone else picked!

You tried on quite a variety. I think that's smart. I've heard a lot of people say that they didn't think they'd like a certain dress and then fell in love with it once they got it on. :)

Thank you!

Surprising almost every dress fit me like a glove -so not a lot in alterations. These dresses were buy off the rack and they were having a sale so there was no reordering of sizes.

I definately confirmed that I wanted white - didn't like the beigy one at all. And I definately think I want one with the pickups in it.

That's so funny gwen - not one of us were fond of the first one you mentioned - it was beige and felt it drowned me out but that thank you...it's nice to have different opinions and get so unbiased opinions.

Hahahahaha. That's so funny. I think it's great that everyone has different tastes - it's what makes this board great. :)

I most definitely agree with the one the girls liked. That looks almost identical to the one that I want to order. Very pretty! :)

I like the popular choice best of these. I definitely think something with a dropped waist like the very last one will be most flattering on you. I can’t really tell how tall you are from the pictures, but I’m only 5’2” and I find that a slimmer, less puffy skirt makes me look taller if that’s an issue for you.

I'm about 5'4"/5'5" without shoes but I am standing on a stool in most of the pics.

None of these really jumped out at me, either, but it's a good learning experience! I definitely agree that white is best on you!

Good luck finding the dress!

Thanks - I hope I get to go to a bigger boutique soon. With studying for an exam in a month, it is a little hard to find the time to get out of town. I am scared that I may be running out of time.

Thank you all for your kind replies.

I am scared that I may be running out of time.

Don't worry! You have plenty of time, hun! I bought my dress nine months before my wedding, and by the time I had to try it on for hemming, it was way too big! I wasn't even trying to diet. :whyme: So it's good not to buy your dress too soon!

Good luck on your exams!

Thank you for that reassurance - my other bridesmaid other then my MOH keeps going on about how it should be ordered about 8 months before and I am hitting the 9 month mark next week and my exam is in one month so I was getting a little nervous.

I had mentioned something after this first experience about going after my exam and she's like well you can't wait too long so that was making me anxious.

Hopefully by going to a bigger shop next time I will be able to find the dress!

I say that of those I like the last one the best.yOu should definatly try more on if you didnt get that 'OMG I dont want to take this off, can I wear it home? "feeling. Good luck, you have plenty of time, they say at least 6 months at the minimum.

The one titled "HPIM0635 (http://forums.onewed.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3600&d=1225671370)" is a fave of mine...it is sooo flattering on your body. Your waist looks tiny, it shows off your lovely hourglass curve figure :)
