Okay here's the deal......I could probably posted this in vents and frustrations cause I'm about to rip out my hair....We had a local country club booked and paid for for our wedding in august 2007. Without warning we found out it was sold to a brand new owner. We did sign a contract. THe new owner did not have the liquir liscense transfered so we would have had to supplied our own alcohol. Not to mention the money we had paid in full for this place already. After getting a lawyer through this whole entire ordeal we concluded to take all of our money back and look for another place. Well, we decided to on a very elegant ballroom in a nearby hotel. Okay so we covered there. However, the colors/theme we were working with we decided on was turquoise and silver. Problem......those colors will completly clash with our new location. So I was thinking of deep periwinkle and celadon...I actually ran across it in a magazine on an actual bridesmaid dress. I an also changing my flowers now too...I am going with periwinkle hydranegeas. I also had to change my centerpieces. I just feel so uncertain. What does everyone think...Any ideas or suggestion please?? What I can say is I'm glad this happended 14 months before the wedding and not 3. Plus, this contract is iron clad now so I'm hoping for no major changes...Aftter all this I just want to get married now, thats all!!! thanks again

I think it's just like you said, it happened when you still have 14 months to go. You still have plenty of time to change your wedding theme colors and still have a fantastic wedding!! And I think the periwinkle and celadon sound simply divine! Do you have any pictures of this BM dress that was your inspiration? And I love the idea of periwinkle hydrangeas!! I would have liked to see lavender hydrangeas for Amber's wedding.

I wouldn't worry too much, shawnsgirl, from what I can interpret from your post, you seem to be the type of girl who when someone gives you lemons, you make lemonade. You're doing a great job!!t

Again I agree that it's much better to happen now. But that really does suck about your first place.
And since you have plenty of time, changing colors shouldn't be a problem. One question, though. What color is celedon. I can't say I have ever heard of it. I do like periwinkle though and think hydrangeas would be great!

Yeah I bet you are glad this happened now! At least you had a contract and were able to get your money back and re-book in plenty of time. So what are the colors of the new place, why will it clash? I like either color scheme though :)

Good luck!

I know what it's like to have everything planned out and your plan just goes BONKERs!! I'm doing turquoise/silver, so of course I love your 1st color selection. BUt the periwinkle and celadon sounds really pretty as well. I can just see it now...especially with your wedding in August. And the hydrangeas will look beautiful!! Good luck and keep us posted on how your plans are coming.

okay so i tried and tried last night to scan the pic which went fine but just could not get it to show up in the reply. So I didn't have much luck. The pictures previously posted ar pretty darn close. THe periwinkle is exact. The Celdon though on the dress is just a bit darker. You know how these dresses are between individual designers Not only do they have different names for the same colors but they have different colors for the same names!! LOL

I did show the pic to my girls and they like it even more than my first choice. A few of them were not the happiest about wearing turquiose. But they even loved the BM dress itself so its definatly a go...
What should I do about the guys. Should they go with the periwinkle or the green? Thanks again everyone you're the best!

Are you having the BM's in both colors? I would have the guys vests the same as the BM's ... if you are alternating the BM's colors then you could do the same with the guys. Or have the guys vests be one color and the bouts be the other.

Personally, I like to see the groom in an Ivory/White vest to match the bride and make him stand out from the rest of the GM ;)

My SIL did this and it ended up washing out her DH. And in the pictures he doesn't look like he's wearing a vest or tie at all! I would recommend doing the groom's vest in a different accenting color. Or the GM in the same color as the BMs and the Groom in the color that the rest of them aren't. My girls wore red, the GM wore red and my DH wore a silver vest and tie! Good luck!!

While I actually prefer the ivory, I've seen the white look good too. I think it has a lot to do with the material the vest is made of ... that, and the photographer ;) I've seen photos where the details of a brides white dress were blown out *bad photographer/bad lighting* But, I it is really a personal preference ;) I say look at pictures and see what you like the best. Good luck!

Yes they had a bad photographer from what I've heard and I think thats partly why my SIL hates me, because I had a TOP NOTCH photographer! lol....believe me she is a very petty person! lol

At the wedding I just went to this past weekend the groom was in an all white tux. The colors of the wedding were lilac and minst green. The maid of honor was in a green dress with a piece of lilac in the slit of the dress and a purple wrap. The best man had the green vest and tie. The rest of the girls were in the purple dress with the green accent in the slit of the dress with the green wrap. The rest of the men were in purple vest. The flower girls wree the same idea. . Two fo them had a purple dress with a stip of the green near the mottom of it all the way around and the others were just the oppisite. It is hard to explain it. I wish I had not forgotten my camera but I was not turning around for it. They all looked much better then I can decribe.

This is the dress, just picture it lilac with the mint green slit and visa versa. And the wrap matching the slit.
