***Okay...I don't want this to get extremely political as we are all adults here...Soo...
With the election less than a week away have you already decided who you will vote for?
*Poll coming...Please, DO NOT include who you will be voting for or why...This is not a debate just a fun poll to see if those political phone calls are even needed at this point.

I have not gotten any calls about the presidential candidates, but lots about the local ones.
DH and I got absentee ballots, so we mailed in our votes this week; no waiting in line :D
Yes!!! FF & I are going to a RALLY on Thursday!! We are driving 8 hours to see the future PRESIDENT!! :D We have some family political connections so we may actually be able to MEET with our President ~ or at least get close enough to take pics!!!

I knew who I was voting for a long time ago. I mailed my ballot last week :)
Yep, we've both decided on our pick. It wasn't much of a decision for us anyways.

I'll get to stand in line (at least I hope there will be a line) and vote. some times it is rather apathetic around here.

If I could vote in your election I know who I would be voting for.
We recently had an election as well. Side question - How many of you can name the prime minister of Canada (without looking it up). Bonus points if you can name any of the people running against him in the most recent election (again without looking it up). :)

Since the party nominations have been made there was NEVER a question about who I'm voting for.

Agreed. :)
Doug and I did early voting this past Saturday. It felt good to pick and be done with it.

I was torn for a long time until the VP candidates were chosen, then I decided for sure. I sent in my absentee ballot a couple weeks ago.

I was surprised to hear they were giving people the opportunity to vote early. I knew they did absentee ballots but had never heard of the early vote? As far as I know they aren't giving us that option in Alabama. Anywho:)
I also know who I will be voting for, I'm excited this will be the first time I contribute to the decision for the man who will be running our country!:grinhappy:

I was undecided for a while but after watching the last 2 debates it helped me make up my mind.

Yeah. I am in Alabama as well, I wish we did get the option. The poll lines are going to be crazy. I have finally chosen a candidate, I had to hear the VP debate first.
I've missed all of the debates becaue of work. Very frustrating. I did plenty of research that I'm sure helped me more than watching the debates, but I still would have liked the opportunity to see them!
Elizabeth - I know none of the answers to your questions!! :ooh:

I am not voting because I cannot decide who to vote for. Plus, I don't want to wait in a long line for hours. On the news yesterday, they said that some places had lines of people waiting up to 7 hours! That's just crazy.

I wish I still lived in Oregon where we vote by mail. No lines, no hassle. My friends there have already voted! Fortunately here the polling places are divided by township and my township is not ridiculously crowded.

I personally voted by mail, but would be completely happy standing in line for hours if I had to. This is by far the most important election in our lives and NOTHING could stop me from voting! :)

I definitely know who I'm voting for. After all the articles and stories, I have definitely made up my mind.

AGREED! The country is almost in a FULL-BLOW DEPRESSION and the stock market hasn't been this bad since 1939. I AM VOTING!!! FF says if he has to stand in line and miss work all day, he will ~ it is that important for us to exercise a right that so many women (and men) in other countries would (and do) literally kill for.

I made up my mind. I'm maybe not as informed as I should be, but I know how I feel on a lot of issues, and I know my mom feels very strongly about the candidate, and I'm very much like her. So I think I'm set.

Elizabeth - I know none of the answers to your questions!! :ooh:
Apparently the questions were too hard?
K so let's try some easy ones (it's open to anyone :)) -
Do you know where Canada is? Do you honestly believe we live in igloos?

I don't know the answers to your first questions....but I KNOW you're North of me!!! And of course you live in igloos. How else would you constructively use all that snow you love!!! (that falls on all those leaves you love to rake???)

I just find it amusing how much we know about "yous all" and how little some know about us ... your closest and friendliest neighbours :)
I am sure it has a LOT to do with our newscasts. We get all of your news, your music, your tv shows, your products and your culture. To a certain extent, what your country does (or who you elect) affects us so we pay attention.
Oh but if I may say so .... your election process takes far far too long! :) As soon as one election is over, they always seem to be gearing up or campaigning for another. I was tired of hearing of it in the summer ...

I know who I'm voting for, or rather, *what* I'm voting for but it's not going to make any bit of difference. Oh well. I tend to agree with whoever it was that said 'Vote for the change you want to see -- don't just vote for the status quo because it's easy -- vote for what you want to see happen!'
So I'm voting, but my vote isn't going to count. But maybe, just maybe, my vote will make a difference a little bit down the road. Who knows?

Girl of course YOUR vote counts. If everyone said "my vote doesn't count" then we would have no election. Every SINGLE vote matters, and good for you for voting!!!!! ;)

You're right! I visited Canada in April and had a wonderful time. I stayed outside of Toronto and drove up through a few small towns and into BEAUTIFUL Niagara Falls. The people were very friendly and I enjoyed myself very much! So what I do know is that you are very friendly and live in a beautiful place!
FF & I do not get to go see "the man we think will be the future President" tonight. He got called-in to work about 10am this morning. :sob: We were to leave at 12 noon. My FBIL had already left me a message saying he was actually standing on the platform where he would be speaking tonight and we had instructions on how we could meet-up with them and etc... My FBIL is "politically involved" so it would have been sooooooo awesome. We are soooo jealous!!! (in a good way) Oh Well. We will cast our votes and hope for the best.

I know the guy who just won is named Harper-not sure on his first name. I know he's with the conservative party. Regrettably, I do not know much more than that. Is it Steven?
I voted yesterday. I do not live in a swing state, but it was still cool. Because of my job, I'll be working late Nov. 4, which will make it hard to keep up with the national picture, sigh. But I'll be trying on my cell phone!

Cool! Well done and yes, his name is Steven (although it could be spelled Stephen <<<< I have no idea LOL << me bad)

I so very much agree with you on this. It is like we have never ending campaigning!! And, I too get very tired of hearing it...especially when they can't say ANYTHING nice!! In SD the voters proved that they don't like smear campaigning. A few years ago, several people were running for governor...and it was a very hotly contested race. Turns out that the underdog got elected. He was the only one that had run a positive campaign.
