Hi!
Im Ally, im new here so you may have to forgive my 'newbieness'! lol
I have been with my partner for nearly 6 years now (hes 21 and i am in december) and we have panned a trip of a lifetime to america next year (so we're from the UK obviously:winktongue:).
We decided that its about time we tied the knot, but we dont want all the hoopla that goes with a wedding over here, so were doing it in vegas :D
As we are staying in Anaheim CA, we thought it would be a great idea to just go for the day, and stay over the night at the hard rock hotel for our 'wedding night'.
So im really happy about it all, and we're hoping to get a place there that has a webcam. Our plan is to send everyone a sms on the day or the day before to give them the webcam address and to let them know what time to log on etc, just so they can see whats going on, and then we are turning our phones off so noone can try and talk us around to get us to do it at home.
The thing is now im getting a bit freaked out that i'm gong to be all alone getting ready and doing my hair and all that with no help at all!
eeeeeeeek
Plus ive got a bit of a traditional family who might be a bit peeved that i did it this way, although to be fair im not as fussed about that. His family wont mind so much as they are not as close as we are.
The way we see it, we are not the traditional type. We met in a pub with me stealing his pint and his fags and running into the lasses toilets with them :bbmrgreen: lol, and we have been together like i said since the last year of secondary school over here (thats when we were about 15) which is highly unusual where we come from.
So really im just here looking for tips and advice to ease my nerves a little!
lol
i think i need it
much luff everyone!
xXx

Congratulations! I will start off by saying; I am speaking from experience, and am not trying to bum you out or anything. :-) Please make sure you won’t have any regrets about getting married in Vegas without your families. I had the exact same idea as you, and went to Vegas on my 21st birthday and got married. We did a wedding package deal that included the minister, dress, tux rental and flowers, and even included the live webcam. Unless you bring your own wedding dress, you will have to choose one of the dresses they have to offer. I was panicking because all the dresses I tried on were HORRIBLE and the one I finally found was about 3 sizes too big so they had to safety pin it and try and hide them in the back. I worked at a hair salon for 4 years so it was no biggie to do my own hair and make-up, but I regretted BIG-TIME not having my family there. It wasn’t until I was walking down the aisle with not a single soul in the room besides my FI and the minister, and then it hit me; I missed my family so much L Unfortunately, not only did I have a bad wedding, but also a bad marriage. (Which has NOTHING to do with getting married in Vegas) I know people who have been married in Vegas and have had a WONDERFUL marriage! I have been divorced for 3 years and am now planning 2nd and final wedding with the most wonderful man!!! We’re getting married on the beach in Mexico. (I’m like you and am not very traditional) The most important thing this time around was that both of our families be there. Just make sure it’s 100% what you want, and that you will not have any regrets. Good Luck!!!
