A position FINALLY opened up in Fiance's company for the job one step above what he's doing now -- it would be a promotion right out of hourly wages and into a salaried position with a TON more benefits than he's getting now, and a MASSIVE wage increase. A lot more responsibility too, including the potential to travel to various parts of the US . . . hopefully he can bring his spouse with him :)
In fact, the promotion is such a huge raise that if he gets the job, Fiance is seriously considering quitting his second job because his new salary will take care of all of that.
Needless to say, I am excited and hopeful. He's been with this company for 7 years, it would be awesome if they rewarded him with this new promotion! And if he could quit his second job I'd be able to see him a little bit more. Right now he has Saturdays off -- and ONLY Saturdays off, and needless to say, working 80 hour weeks is taking its toll. If he gets the promotion, he won't have to work 80 hour weeks and he'll be on a more-or-less typical schedule again and I'll be able to see more of him.
I don't know when they're going to make a decision about who to put in the slot. Cross your fingers! I'll let you know whatever happens, as soon as we hear something.
