Okay, so I decided to start a journal, partly for myself, and partly because I wanted to share all my wedding details with everyone and be able to get advice from other brides-to-be as well as those of you who are already 'mrs.'

So, where to begin? I suppose it goes without saying that we are young. AJ, or Artmus, is only nineteen at this moment, and I am only eighteen. I've been asked a couple times so far "What's the rush?" and the only answer I really have for that is that we know we are ready and we are very, VERY excited. =] I know it's not a really good answer, but it's all that I've got. Being young doesn't really matter to us because, in my religion, we believe that we've been together for eons. I know that sounds odd, but it's my religion.

That's another thing. We're not of the same religion, but we see no problem with it. We love each other and that's all that matters. Religion doesn't play a big role in either of our lives, and we don't ever argue about religion, unless we're just playing around.

But anyway, enough of that. About our wedding now...

We've always wanted to get married in October and so, checking the calendar, we decided on the Friday before Halloween, October 30. We also decided that, since it was close to Halloween, that we are going to have a costume ball as our reception. Of course, me and my FH are going to match in costumes, no argument about it. Ha ha. But anyway...as for the wedding, we had originally planned on getting married on the beach, but we decided that was a bit messy and I'm not all for getting sand in my shoes or all over my dress.

SO, here's the kicker and some of you might think it is weird, freaky, or disrespectful, but we are getting married at a cemetery. In fact, we are getting married in the same cemetery that our mutual best friend was buried in after she got into a car accident. I always wanted her to be at my wedding, in a sense, and I think it would be easier for her spirit to be there if we are near her burial site. Also, we wish to pay respects to her after the wedding, so we are having an extra bouquet made, a huge one, to lay on her grave after the ceremony.

As for the reception, we are looking into haunted hotels, but we don't want to scare our guests or any of our bridal party, so we might just party in the ballroom of a regular hotel, and make it look creepy. I really want a pineapple punch fountain, dyed red to look like blood. Does that seem weird? Well, I guess I am weird. I want to get fountains to light the room, or have really dim lights.

We also are having a DJ because we want specific music played. Neither of us likes country or hip hop a whole lot, since we love rock n' roll, even though he's more for classic rock and I like all kinds. Also, we want to have a buffet sort of thing, a stocked bar, and a dessert table.

But, that's what we got so far. =]]

i always think a costume ball for halloween is awesome. i suppose it should work the same for a wedding. You may really want to set your tone though, like costumes of couples from a time period or any couple or something like that. i dont know if you will want someone really showing up as a go go dancer ya know.
