Ok, I bought a box of garlic and herb couscous because I was curious about it. Because Fiance likes to try new foods, I am going to cook this tonight.
However. I have never had couscous and I don't know what to make with it. Fiance refuses to eat most cooked veggies (he likes them raw -- we have some raw carrots in the house at the moment) so I can't make a spinach thing, and he likes his meat, so this can't be a meatless meal.
I was thinking chicken, but is there a decent recipe out there?
We have shrimp too, not the tiny salad ones and not the humungous cocktail shrimp, but the medium sized ones like you'd get in scampi.
I suppose it would be easy enough to sautee them in garlic and onion and just add them into the couscous.
Would it?
Anybody have some good ideas for what will make couscous a complete meal?

I serve everything with couscous! Fish, chicken, pork, anything!! It is so delicious:D
When I ate meat one of my favorite things to eat on a bed of couscous was yogurt grilled chicken kabobs w/ olives and feta. Some couscous sounds really good!!

I tried it once and someone told me you can pretty much do anything with it, just like you would do with rice.
The one time I made it I made beef and broccoli with plain couscous; but we didn't care much for it, so I doubt I will make it again.

I prepare couscous in this way. I prepare something that we call "peperonata"+chicken.
2-3 spoons of olive oil + 1 onion + 3 peppers + 2 tomatos (or tomato sauce) + basial (it' possible to add also other vegetables aubergines or courgette and other aromatic herb such as marjoram or thymus)...you have to cook all together.
In the meantime you cook chicken cut in small pieces and without bones (you can use also only breast of chicken) in some butter.
Salt of course....
At the end you put together peperonata and chicken and serve them with couscous.
