Not sure if any of you catch the nation weather reports and what is being said about the floods up here inNH and Maine and Mass. I have been lucky as the town we live in has not been flooded. Life is going as normal with alot of rain. But just down the road about 20 to 30 mins people have been evacuated from their homes and roads have been shut down all over the southern part of the state. Parts of Maine and Mass. have gotten it realy bad too. My GF gets married this Sat. and the whole thing is outside. I have heard that she isnt stresses about the weather that she is just making plans for a rainy day. The rain is supposed to stop by tomorrow and clear up with just a few showers here and there but I am not sure. From the looks of things we have more rain coming up from Rhode Island. Cross your fingers this town doesnt get flooded. That is all I need to deal with right now. Lucky for us we live on the second floor. We wont have to worry much and we are at the start of a hill. But I feel so bad for the ones who have lost their homes already and there is so much damage. As of right now no damns have broken but they are all being watched very closely. I never realized just how many damns we have here in NH. Seems like every town has atleast one. Pray the rain stops soon.

I know all about floods. It seems we get floods around here every few years or so. I remember one time while we were in high school getting out of school for 2 weeks because of floods. Then there was Allison in 2001 when half of downtown Houston was under water. There was the flood of 94 when we had to take a boat out of our neighborhood.
Anyway I pray that it stops for you guys and I hope the weather is nice for your friend's wedding. I pray for the people who lost their homes. I wish everyone will be able to salvage their homes and that the rains will stop. Good luck up there in New England. I wish the best for everyone there.

It has been raining almost non stop up here in Bangor as well, but luckily, not enough to flood us. I truly hope it does not get to that point. I think the closest to me that has been officially flooded is Lewiston, which is about two hours away. Absolutely, please keep this area in your thoughts! I hope it stops before it gets too bad!!

It is raining non stop here too. Our rivers have gotten really high over night. I wouldn't be surprised if roads start flooding by morning if it doesn't let up.
One of the truck drivers here had to take a load of junk to an auction in Manchester, NH and he called quite a bit on the way saying he was stranded cause all the roads were closed. I guess they might have to cancel the auction since noone can get there.

We actually have ban on using hosepipes etc already in some parts of the UK 'cos our reservoirs are low and they anticipate a water shortage thru the summer unless we recieve substantial amounts of rain - which isnt likely! Mad world innit hey?
