I meant to post this awhile ago.

DH called me his wife for the first time after I left my handbag at a sushi restaurant. I was so upset with myself, since we had to rush to the restaurant in our pajamas to pick it up before they closed.

DH said, "It's okay, hunny, I got to call you my wife for the first time!"

I called DH my husband for the first time at the post office, while shipping a box he packed to a friend of his. The lady at the post office asked if I wanted to switch everything into a slightly smaller box to save money, and I declined, saying, "My husband packed this box and I don't know what he put in it, so I'd rather not risk it."

When he got off work, I told him how much I had to pay to ship that box, but then I added: "It's okay, hunny, I got to call you husband for the first time!" I had a giggle over that.

Do you remember the first time you called your spouse your "husband" or "wife?"

I know we sort of jokingly said it to each other at home that night.

I think the first time he referred to me as his wife was probably at our little reception/party a couple of weeks after the wedding. He introduced me to a friend of his I had never met and said "This is my wife".

Even now 3+ yrs later I still love it when he calls me his wife

We said it to each other when we were alone in the hotel room. *^^*

The first time i heard him say it was when he was calling about my insurance through him, and he said 'my wife'. Haha, lame, but it made me happy.

Because i kept the "Mrs" from Divorce but changed My Surname to His by Deed Poll years ago. I've been looked upon as His Wife for ages. And over the Years it was just easier to say "My Husband" or "My Wife" when talking to companies etc on the telephone.

He jokes around by saying "Oi Wife, Make Me A Cup Of Coffee NOW" and i reply "No Husband, It's Your Turn To Put The Kettle On" LOL.

Never really had the "Husband / Wife" bit said when on Our Honeymoon. But i did get a bit embarrassed when We arrived at the Hotel and the Receptionist said "Ahh, You Two Are The Newly Weds" which made Us feel like love struck Teenagers. When infact We were older than them. :bbeek:

I'm not married, but that is what FH calls me all the time. He says that BF/GF sounds juvenile.

I didnt until we got back home and I was at work talking about him and said my husband. Sadly I dont remember when he said it, but it did say it before we even got married on the phone to get the stupid student loan consolidation people to stop calling.

On a side note:
on our cruise wedding we got invited to sit (sea sick )with the captain during formal dinner (day after wedding). Well I got sick and attempted to attend but just ended having to go back to our room before the food even came out. DH was left at the table with the captain, other important cuise people, and two other couples. He said after I left the kept saying I hope your wife is ok blah blah, and the first time he thought to himself, wife ? who are the talking about? haha.

We said it to each other at the alter.

After we were pronounced, I whispered to him "You're my husband!" and he whispered "You're my wife."

But I think the first time I heard him address me as his wife was on our honeymoon when we were booking a helicopter ride over Kauai- I am afraid of heights and didn't want the doors open on the helicopter, and he called them to find out if they did that. He said, "My wife doesn't want to ride on a helicopter with the doors open." It was music to my ears!

I'm a nurse and when I tell stories to my patients I get to say "my husband" instead of "my fiance". I love the way it sounds and hope it stays that way.:D

I had actually kinda slipped and called him my husband just a couple weeks before the wedding....

But the first time it fully HIT was just last week. We were out to dinner, waiting on a table... while we're waiting, DH ran into a couple people he used to know from his car club days. So he introduces me as his wife, and I was like "OH! Ha ha, I AM your wife!!" They kinda looked at me weird, but then we explained we'd only been married a few weeks, and they understood. :grinhappy:

To each other? Right away... The first time I called him my husband was on our honeymoon - it was SO WIERD talking to a bunch of other couples who kept slipping up like we did! I'd say "fiancee", they'd say "fiancee", Matt would say "fiancee".... and we'd always be correcting ourselves. It was great

While we were on our honeymoon cruise Jeff introduced me as his wife and I was surprised but very happy! :D And then just recently he ran into some pals at Target and referred to me as his wife. It's cool to hear him say that!!
