We are both so excited for our new house. Its not complete yet, so I started a journal with the development of the house and to get opinions from all of you about the different things I will put in there:D.
The loan is on my name because I started getting the loan before we get engaged. I would get a house anyway but the fact that I am with Tom and we are getting married provided me the potential of getting a bigger loan. And a bigger house of course:D.

Our house is still on the bricks but it is developing fast. Some of the walls are built already and by the end of this week every wall will be complete (ok just bricks for now).
Our house is on the 1st floor. Downstairs my parents are building a house also. They are pretty excited as well. Now the two houses are completely independant. We will only have the same garden.
Next step will be the electric cords and the plumping. And then they will drop concrete at the floor.

I have talked with the manufacturer a lot. Its a talented young lady. Last time I went at her office she totally freaked me. Fireplace, floor tiles, Kitchen countertops, kitchen cabinets, bathroom furniture, windows, small windows, really big ones, balconies... I freaked!!! All that talk in half an hour. And finally she said one thing that left me like this -->:bbeek:
"Vicky, take a look of various things for your parents house also because your mom is really busy"

First of all before it even start being built I told the manufacturer I wanted an island couner in the kitchen, a dressing rom in the master bedroom and a corner bathtub, here is almost what I will get

I want a modern kitchen but I dont like too much inox. I was thinking about magenta cabinets but not all of them. I thought about black floor cabinets and magenta hanged ones. But then FH said he likes light coloured houses. The truth is that I didnt like the black idea at first. So I thought about ivory with magenta. That is the colour combination for the kitchen cabinets. I will use inox for the appliences and the knobs.

Ok I want ideas, please help!

I want one of the smeg fridges. I love the red, the lime green, the PINK of course(but FH would run screaming). I dont know how to match it.

I want the kitchen cabinets as following:

The lower cabinets ivory-beige.
The upper cabinets shorter that the lower and dark violet.
I will not have an island counter finally.
Instead I will have a board-top that will work as a brakfast bar.


This is the lime fridge.I will get the smaller version. What color of cabinets would be beautiful with this? I dont like natural wood colored cabinets. I havent decide on a backsplash yet. Tiles is the most common.

This is the red coloured, in the exact size I want. But I dont want red cabinets, It would look cold to me.

We ordered our furniture!! finally!!!

After days of running to stores with furniture that had sales, or even no sales we ended up somewhere.

So we got two couches for the living room that look like this, one 2 seated and one 3 seated.

I will post fotos of the actual things when my house will be ready for them. As for now, the store will keep them as long as I want.

All these costed 2900 euros and they are very good quality from a known brand.

Now I have to figure out how to add personal flare and how to accent these.

I love it!


Still wondering on the kitchen cabinets, pending if I will do it as I think.

I want the lower cabinets ivory and the upper violet.


Tomorrow I will go to get bathroom furniture and tiles.

We already chose the bathroom furniture and tiles. The toilet, the sink and the bathtub is white porcelain. The wall and floor tiles are black and white and they have wonderful shiny texture, also we will add decor tiles in silver. The cabinet will be shiny black and there is a black shelf as well.

We also chose kitchen design, it will have something like a breakfast bar with two stools. The lower cabinets will be light zabrano wood and the upper ones with wenge wood(black-brown) and some stained glass ones.

I cant wait to see everything, and to take pics of course.
