I have been searching and searching for crinoline slips for myself and my girls. I don't want to pay $45.00 for a slip. Any suggestions? Is there somewhere on the web where they sell gently used slips?

Try Craig's list, I see them on there all the time.

Do you know someone who has recently gotten married that you could borrow or rent one from?

I am having the same problem! I dont want to wear one. It makes my dress too poofy. When I ordered my gown I discussed with the owner if I needed one or not. Basically it's to fill out the skirt of your gown and also keep it from going inbetween your legs when you walk. My dress doesnt really do that, so that's why I am pushing more on the "not wearing one" side. But they also told me that they could sew some of crioline to the front to help prevent the fold if there really is one.
Hope this helps.

My consultant at Davids insisted I had to have one or I'd have "shadows" in my photos. I felt like the crinoline made the dress ridiculously full though, plus it way uncomfortable.

I think they have them in thinner styles, too. I say it's up to you if you want to use one or not. Do you have any pics of the dresses? Maybe we can help decide if they are even necessary...

If you don't want to wear crinolines -- because let's face it, they're hot, they're itchy, they're uncomfortable -- you might consider getting a hoop skirt instead.
Get one that has adjustable hoops and you can totally customize how poofy your skirt is. Hoops provide air flow naturally underneath your skirt and are able to hold out a skirt quite nicely.
The only thing about a hoop is that if you're a shorter person, you might have to hem the hoop up as well, sometimes even taking out the bottom hoop itself!
I'm wearing a hoop for my wedding, and I'm going to have to take out the bottom hoop . . . oh well. That's why the others are fully adjustable!
I recommend this website: http://fcsutler.com/fcladys.asp# for hoops. I have nothing to do with them but I have one of their hoops and it's everything I needed, for a reasonable price. Fall Creek has some amazing stuff! Fiance and I are also going to buy one of their tents this spring.

yah, if your dead set on crinoline check craigslist.
I know i personally dont like them. They are very itchy. I had one ATTACHED in my dress (bridesmaids dress) for my cousins wedding, it was itchy and uncomfy. Just a thought though :)

ebay sells brand new ones.....you can catch them for 9.99 and then about 12.00 shipping. The person has a high rating too and they look like they are quality. That is where I plan to get mine.......who was selling theirs? How much?? I'm interested if she isn't LOL I would be a size 8.
