Married in Thailand!

My husband and I married in Thailand in July and it was so amazing! It's a little scary to plan from so far away and you have to be up for a few surprises, but our wedding experience was so wonderful and exotic that I will always be thankful we had a "destination wedding." My husband processed to the wedding on an elephant! And even though our travel expenses were high, so many things like flowers and food were so cheap that I don't think our overall wedding cost was higher than it would have been in the US.
I would absolutely recommend Thailand for a wedding and have great tips for anyone thinking of it!

Where abouts in Thailand did you get married?

We got married in Koh Samui at the Lipa Lodge resort in December and it was simply perfect. We also had an elephant but ours was a baby and he walked us down the beach :)

Everything was so easy to plan and simply sorted out by email

Like you said travel costs can be high but everything else is so cheap the wedding as a whole works out a bargin. Put it this was we got a 3 week honeymoon a wedding with photographer, cake, flowers the works really and all that came to under £4000 thats including our spending money.
