Where can I find these?!!

So I'm working on making my own fans for our ceremony, something like this:

But I can't for the life of me find any handles to use!! My options are either paint stirrers (which I can only find in a very straight edge, and I LOVE the look of the rounded edge) or tongue depressors (which I can't find ANYWHERE!! I've checked Michaels, Joannes, any drug store I can find, Walmart, and my local Supermarkets). The sticks need to be long enough to go a good way into the fan so that they're supportive (so 8" or so - I found some at Walmart but they were too small). Any suggestions??
