So, after 2 years in our apartment like condo, we can't take it anymore and have decided to put it on the market. We want privacy and a yeard again. We know, the market stinks, but we want to try and take advantage of the market ourselves. We are working with a realtor, who can hopefully help us find something!
If worse comes to worse, we have to stay a little longer, but wish us luck! I've been looking online and have been getting frustrated. Good house in the wrong area. Great house, small lot. Perfect house to remodel, asking too much. Suddenly, the wedding looks like a piece of cake compared to this whirlwind we are about to enter!

Good luck! The market is tough here in MA. I would love to sell but we would lose to much.

Thanks! See, we can get what we paid for it two years ago, with some equity, hopefully. I'm just hoping we don't get too frustrated trying to find something!

Good luck.. I live in a town house condo here in Franklin and have thought many times to put it on the market. I love my little home, but the condo association really bites the big one:o But with the market the way it is.. and we have three seperate condo's on the market here in my area... it's tough. I wish you all the luck and hope you get something you want

Whoa, we are practically neighbors! I live in East Troy (actually have family and friends in the Franklin area)
But yeah, association fees are horrible. Plus, we have city water (don't want that) property taxes are really high (the areas we are looking in are a couple of hundren more for a house!) I hope we find something, soon!

We are hoping to stay in the East Troy area but are also looking into Elkhorn, Waterford, Wind Lake areas. We wouldn't mind living in Mukwonago (we both grew up there) but houses are a bit high for the area and FH works in Muskego and I work in Brookfield so Muskego wouldn't be bad, but then we are dealing with prices of houses and taxes!

Ouch you have a nice drive to work...:D There are plenty of houses out there to choose from, and i'm sure there are plenty of people out there that want to sell there homes that have been on the market for a long time. Ours was on the market for over 8months before we bought it. If there is somthing you really want you can always talk them down. If they really want to get rid of it they will sell it to you at your price. But then property taxes..errrrr. Then finding a bank to loan you the money is another nightmare. Banks are really holding on to there money now

I feel your frustration.
We couldn't get over how nice the photos would look online but after viewing some of these properties, we were surprised at how much a photo can lie! There was so much **** was on the market in our area ...and yet, they were asking ridiculous prices for it!

You know ........ I think it was just another good ol case of Serendipity. We had just just seen a house that I wanted to put an offer on but DH pleaded with me to see just a few more. :)
The house is so "us" and the only thing it's missing is a lake so, I will just toss some fish in the pool and put a small canoe in the pool! LOL
The house that was meant to be yours, will find you even if you are looking at others.

Whoo, so we are meeting with our realtor tonight at the condo to see what we can list it for and then going to look at some houses! I'm super excited, but nervous! I spent the last two days cleaning EVERYTHING in the house. We are so ready to move, I just want the condo on the market and gone so we can move on!
Plus, I saw yesterday that the government cut interest rates! The mortgage we applied for went down 1/2 percent! :D I hope it keeps going down or stays where it is at for the next couple of months!!

I noticed the feds cut the rates, I thought of you when I saw that. But rates change so quickly! So just watch it day to day. When we we started to look for our home the interest rate was a 5.25% Buy the time we bought our home about a couple of weeks later it was up to 6%! Take your time, and watch the rates. If you guys have great credit, it shouldn't be hard to get the lowest rate out there, depending on who you go with. I'm sure you know to shop around for the best rates. From what I have read some banks are not even lending out money because of the mortage crises or just not have the money to give out. :bbeek: But im sure you will find that house ment for the both of you and get it a really nice price. It is a buyers market out there right now. So you may get your dream home at a steal of a price:beer_smile:

Thats what makes me nervous. Everything being so uncertain. We are pre-approved through one lender, so I just hope they don't go bankrupt before we buy!!!

I hear ya... the pre approval is a great. That way you can place a bid on the house right away! But those darn rates fluctuate so much err.. but like I said it is a buyers market. I think the worst you will go is 6 percent. Thats the average right now. I will keep my eye one the business section and let ya know if I notice anything change :D At least the gas prices are falling:D Have you put your condo on the market yet?

Not yet. We had a realtor come over yesterday night, he was a knob. Just didn't like him. Plus, his commission was 7%, which I know is pretty standard, but we don't want to walk away from this owing money instead of using towards our new house!
We have another realtor coming tonight. She is a family friend of FH. Her commission is only 4% which is more do-able. We am hoping to get it on the market within the next couple of days!!!

Ok! So, we met with the other realtor tonight. Much better, much nicer and much more what we were looking for! She is going to come back on Monday or Tuesday to take some pictures and list it next week! We are super excited! She said the description will be to the effect of, "Charming Pottery Barn inspired home". When she said that, I knew we had to hire her! :grinhappy:

I can completely relate to the condo situation. We bought ours last winter and can't stand the lack of privacy!!! We'll be single family home hunting in about 2 years....

So, we found a house! Its so cute and perfect for us. Its 3 bedroom, 2 bath, needs some updating but is perfect. I think we are going to put an offer in, but we still need to sell our condo. We are definitely saying our prayers at night for a miracle offer on our condo!!! Keep your fingers crossed!!!
