That no-one in My Family knows i'm getting Married this Saturday. :bbeek:
Dad passed away Ten Years ago. Mum was diagnosed with dementia last Christmas and My Brother is being a Twat. So i haven't seen Mum or Bro since January. :bbcry:
Neither of them know about the Wedding. Mum doesn't know who i am. So Me getting Married wouldn't mean anything. Plus i know if i see My Brother i might just punch Him.
I've just e-mailed a couple of Cousins on Dads side to let them know about the Wedding. One of which is Dads Niece. Mums family have all passed away or moved without trace.
I guess this makes My Christmas Card list a bit small this year.
But hey, i'm getting Married on Saturday. So i have a new Family now. :D

You know Mitch. When I was younger one of the main fears for me getting married. Was that NO one in my family would show. They are not my full blood. Only my sis and brother are half blood to me.
But anyways.. this was such a fear for me that I really didn't think I would ever marry. That when I went looking for a man.. I looked at his family. :( Just to see if it was possible to be accepted by them.
Look at me now. Getting married in 6 months. Does part of me worry about if they will show? yes. Did I make them on my B lis? Yes.. This way I wont have to worry about them showing.. as for I don't expect them to. I am happy and that is all that matters!

As long as you are in the company of those who love and enjoy spending time with you, that's who I call family. Most of my actual family I am not close to...my friends from college know me better than most of them, and show it.

I agree it is the people around Us that are True Family.
We have a Guest flying over from Southern Ireland on Thursday to help out. We met Her through the same Chatroom i met FH. She is like the Sister i never had. A huge laugh, a total AC/DC Fan so She rocks. And has been there for both FH and Myself through thick and thin.
Another Guest is flying in from Scotland. He was the first person i ever spoke to online. He met His Wife through the same Chatroom. When they fly in we'll be meeting Our "Cyber-Nephew" for the first time. He's Ten Months Old now and We can't wait to have a cuddle.
Then there's FH's Daughters and Grandson coming down. His Brother is driving them so We don't have to do the 300 Mile trip. FBIL and Myself get on famously.
Our Witnesses have been really good Friends. S has been like a Brother to FH. And P has been like a Sister to Me. Plus the rest of the Band is coming too. Then there's the Girls from work and a few Guys from FH's firm.
Who needs Blood when i have True Love and Friendship. :D

Glad you're seeing the silver lining on all of this. :) New family, especially one that accepts you as brilliantly as your FH's does, is a great thing. :)
And you're getting married in like a split second! You must be so jazzed. Can't wait to hear all the details. I assume the house stuff is all done and in order now, yes?
:) Gwen

It's all in My Journal. And i'm close to winning My bet too hehehe
