It appears as though no one carries the dress I want, in the store. I want a Maggie Sottero destination line dress, and it only seems to be available for order. But since I'm open to looking at others and being swayed to change my mind 'cause I could find something I like better, I'm gonna look for others before just ordering MS one (there was a store that could order it for me, same price as I've found anywhere online).
My sister's best friend is also getting married, so I'm going with them. So I won't even be the only bride, haha. It should be interesting. We're going to look at the store in the Mall of America and a David's Bridal. Wish me luck! :)

I wish you luck!!!!!!!!!! Remember to try on a few dresses that you don't really "see yourself in" because sometimes the perfect dress sneaks up on ya ;) Have a blast!

Good Luck. Hope You have fun trying on all the different Dresses. Going with another Bride will be good to bounce ideas off of.
Bet You end up with something completely different to what You thought You would go for.
And don't forget to take some shoes. And a few Dollars to go for a drink afterwards. :winktongue:

Thanks! I didn't even think of shoes, but I'm not sure if I have any that would be appropriate 'cause I don't really have any dress shoes. Yup, I'm a girl who doesn't have dress shoes, haha. Well, I've got some black leather shoes that go well with dressy clothing, but it's not the style I'd be wearing for the wedding. I already know I'll need height alterations 'cause even with shoes on, I'll probably be too short for the dress, since they seem to be made for tall brides. But I know I'll have to be better prepared when I go in for my first fitting of the dress that I end up ordering.

they dont have to be "appropriate" so much as the HEEL needs to be about what you would want :) Just makes it easier on you

The MoA and David's aren't the only options around here!!! There's a decent place in Oakdale and "The Wedding Shoppe" in Saint Paul on Grand Ave -- they're a bunch of snobs but they have a LOT of dresses and designers that nobody else has, so if you can put up with it . . . .also the Macy's in downtown Minneapolis is rumored to have Maggie, so you might want to check there.
Apparently there's also a place in Burnsville and somewhere in Forest Lake, of all places!

I have returned, and it was a rather unsuccessful trip. The store at the Mall of America isn't a wedding dress store, and the dresses weren't too attractive. And David's Bridal confirmed what I already saw at another DB store... the ones that I like there are more expensive than the Maggie Sottero one.
I've thought about checking out The Wedding Shoppe. The Maggie Sottero site has a list of places around here that carry their dresses, and there's even some that say they carry Destination dresses... but I haven't found one that's actually got the dresses in the store. :(
I'm kind of curious to know if the dress I want will be at all discounted when Maggie Sottero has a trunk sale at a store that's close to us. So I might call and find out before then and maybe just order it.. 'cause it's been the only one that's stood out to me as much as it does.

I went to every single dress store at the Mall of America with a friend of mine and we wound up making outrageous comments out loud, where everybody could hear us, about every dress.
Honestly, who do they think is going to *wear* these things?
yeah, the MoA is pretty much a wash-out when it comes to wedding gowns. The only store in the entire place that has them is that Wedding Chapel place, and they only have a couple dozen.

We didn't even see the wedding chapel.. we looked for it on the map and didn't see it. We just went to the Glitz store, and it was really bad. They should really get a bridal shop in there... it might actually do well.

by staying open at looking at other dresses you might be surprised at what you may find

have fun! i went by myself (cuz i was stuck in traffic) not expecting to find anything. there was a lady helping me that had the totally opposite taste in dresses than me, and she helped me pick out the dress. i tried on one and just fell in love with it!
