Wedding #2 was September 27th, at the Shark Reef Aquarium at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. This was a small affair, attended by my parents, my aunt and her boyfriend.
My day began early, with hair and makeup (courtesy of GlamSquad 702) at 6:00 a.m. The makeup artist and her assistant were right on time, and both were very perky and friendly. Since we were in a suite, I just closed off Chris in the bedroom so he could get ready, and, armed with redbull, we hung out in the living room.
I wanted my hair and makeup very different from wedding #1, so I asked for a dark, smoky eye with light/neutral glossy lips. For hair, I asked for a loose, unstructured, low up-do (accented by the red silk roses, my mantilla veil and crystal chandelier earrings). They did an OUTSTANDING job -- achieved exactly the look I wanted. It still had a bit of a vintage feel, but it was more Spanish starlet than 50's pin-up.
My parents came up and met us at the suite, and my Step-dad and I left before Chris was finished dressing (so he didn't get a peek at the dress).... since it's literally a 20 minute walk from the hotel room to the shark reef, we opted to take a taxi (which in and of itself was a harrowing experience... CRAZY *** cab driver!!!!!). My mom and Chris rode over with my aunt and her boyfriend.
So prior to the ceremony, I'm sitting in the bride's room with my step-dad, and the coordinator comes in and tells me "Ok! Two minutes to go!" and I LOST it... just became a sobbing mess. I mean, here we're technically already married, so why was I such a mess? So then from there, we walk over to the Shark Reef, and I'm at the end of the "aisle" (the tunnel under the aquarium) and they start playing my walking-down-the-aisle song ("This year's love" by David Gray) and I peek around the corner and see Chris standing there, and I lost it all over again!!!!!! http://www.cycleforums.com/forums/images/smilies/crackup.gif I was a sobbing MESS!!!! (Hell, I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about it!!!!)
The ceremony itself was PERFECT. Absolutely beautiful... Chris looked just AMAZING (I don't have the CD of pro pics yet, but I think my mom got a few of him on my camera).
After the ceremony, we all went over to the Four Seasons for brunch (OMG, so amazing) which was just perfect as well.. the food, the service - everything. Just amazing.
Just a picture perfect day... :grinhappy:
