Should I be worried??

I'm a week and one day without my period. Yesterday I started having a brown discharge. What is this? Is it something serious? I don't have a doctor apt till next Wed. Please help.

Yeah. It has been happening for about a day. Its just when I wipe when going to the restroom.

I googled brown discharge, I usually google stuff I dont know but this is what it says:
Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Sometimes early in pregnancy you may have spotting or a brownish discharge at the time your period would normally come. If you have spotting at the time of your normal period rather than your usual amount of flow, and you have had sex without using birth control, you should check a pregnancy test.

I have took pregnancy test. They have been negative. But I have to be pregnant. I guess I can just wait and see what the doc has to say.

Well, you know your body better than anyone. My periods are like clock-work and are heavy and painful as HELL!!!! If it were time for my period and only brown-discharge was occuring, I would definetely know something was "up" with my body. Are your periods normal or irregular? Is this the first time it has happened? (Sorry for all the questions) lol

Its okay. They are very very normal. Yeah this is the first time that it has happen to me.

It's possibly you're having an an-ovulatory cycle, or you could be pregnant and it's not showing up yet. Were you and your hunny trying to conceive? Are you on the pill? My best friend had 4 negative tests before the positive one.(And she was pregnant all along) I know it's hard but try and relax and wait for your doctors appt. We are here to support you either way!!!! :D

Yeah. We have been trying since we got married in June. We went to the doctor 2 months ago just to talk about pregnancy and things like that.

I just can't wait to find out. We are excited. I just wish today was Wed.

Awww, I know how you must be feeling. We went to the doctor 2 months ago for our "pre-conception" appt. Our wedding isn't until January but we wanted to be all ready to go after we get back. I am starting pre-natal vitamins, and have been exercising and eating healthy for the past 3 months. Waiting must be so hard for you!!!! I hope you are pregnant!!!!

If you are just barely pregnant then it wont be picked up by the pregnancy test. The hormones multiply as time goes on. The more hormones the better chance of detecting it.

Happens to me too! I think it's normal, just your body's way of cleaning out your yoohoo. :)

I'm bummed out. The first time that has ever happen to me. I started my period but it was only a day and a half long. Weird. I don't know what to think. I'm still going to get it check out Wed.

How heavy was it? Was it lighter than usual? You are quite possibly pregnant still, as you can have a few periods while pregnant. I had a friend that had 2 full-length periods during her first pregnancy, except they were a bit lighter than usual. I'm thinking you could be either seriously stressed or possibly pregnant. If you were miscarrying or something like that, there should have been more blood. You'll see the doctor soon (day after tomorrow...?) so they should be able to tell you more. If you're really concerned, are there any services where you can call a nurse..? Here in Oz we have 'family planning' which allow you to call and ask a nurse questions about this sort of thing, and they tell you if you should be worried.

Had you been on birth control before? I was/am on the depo and that made me stop having mine, but towards the end of when it was supposed to happen, I would have the brown spotting. Then, I went off the depo and was on it every single weekend for like 3 months. It was horrible, I would start Friday and it would end by Monday, but it was heavy and very painful!

i don't wanna scare you but this weekend i just found out i was indeed pregnant. i had a light brown discharge and i was 6 days late by sat... i would take a test again. those line ones are ****. btw, i wasn't on bc either

Not to burst the baby bubble, b/c if you want to be I hope you are pregnant.
but this has happened to me before and I am definately not nor have I ever been pregnant. Not saying that you couldn't be as everyones bodies are different. But I had read somehwere that this is just "old blood" (sorry if TMI:bbredface:) from your missed or last period. Not to get all know-it-all-y, but I'm under this understanding in the menstural dept.....You have a period, at the begining of a 28 day cycle your body drops an egg which sits in your uterus awaiting fertilization, while its waiting your uterus is building up a lining to protect the afore mentioned egg. when the egg does not become fertilized and the time has elapsed the lining starts to remove itself from the uterus...IE your 3-7 day menstrural cycle. But sometimes when your on the pill or taking another type of contraceptive or just in general for no apparant reason so of this lining may not "pass" in that time frame....so when the spotting, or discharge is dark it could just be old blood.

Once again sorry if TMI, just explaining it the way it was explained to me. Also sorry if I'm way off base and there are more scientific or precise explanations for this. :)

Just because you get your period doesn't mean you're not pregnant.it happend to both me and my sister :o)
