I thought it was about time i got everyting together in one place. That way others can see the plans. Plus i have Nine Days to go. And a bet on with FH to reach 2000 posts by the time We get Married. :winktongue:
So bear with Me while i upload shed loads of stuff. And a bit of chat inbetween. :D
Hope You enjoy it as much as i did putting My Budget Wedding together.
And may i please take this moment to thank all the Ladies on OW. They have steered Me in the right direction. Have made Me laugh and cry. Have stopped Me tearing My hair out and nagging FH into submission.
Thank You xx

FH dropped on one knee backstage at a Friends gig a Year ago. At first i thought He was joking because He always said He would only ever Marry Once. (Both of Us are Divorced). Then when i stopped laughing, He got up and asked Me again. I burst into tears and said Yes.
After the gig Our Friends got offstage and He asked the Rhythm Guitarist "Stic" to be Our Witness.
From that moment on it has been a whirlwind of emotions, planning and a shiny new ring to show off. :winktongue:

I always said that if i ever Re-Married i would wear Black. Both of Us have already done the Big White Wedding thing with Our Ex's. This time around the Wedding would be Low-Key, Non-Traditional, a couple of "I Do's" and a party afterwards.
I looked on eBay (My other home) and found a gorgeous Black Dress and kept it on My watch list. When the time come to order it. They sold out. :bbcry:
I searched again and found a White Ballgown with a Black netting over the top. I ordered it, only for eBay to cancel the order Two Days later because the "Seller" was banned. Back to the drawing board.
I eventually found a Plain Black Dress in a Charity Shop for £8 ($16). Took it home, tried it on, it was made for a 60ft Woman :bbeek:
OK, We can work with this. A Friend gave Me an old Wedding Dress and We tore it apart. I decided to use the Underskirt on the Black Dress. Hoping the "Puffyness" would bring the skirt out and up.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/wedding/dressfront.jpg
Then We ripped the Bow off the back of the old Wedding Dress and attached it to the Black Dress. But the longer i looked at it, the more disheartened i became.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/wedding/backofdress.jpg
Time to find either someone to alter it and make it "Bespoke". Or bite the bullet and hopefully find something else.

At the time i was still going with the Black Dress. So i set about the Underskirt from the Butchered Wedding Dress.
I bought a cheap Satin Skirt on eBay that already had a Net underneath. The idea was to use that to "Hold" the Underskirt together by sewing the Two together.
While i waited for the Skirt ot arrive i bought some Black fabric dye to turn the Underskirt from Ivory to Black. To My dismay it turned Bronze. :bbeek: OK, i'll do it again. Again it went Bronze.
At the time i was also building and furnishing a Dollshouse (Seen in the background of the Black Dress Photo) Was in the garden spraying the roof Black when i had My "Eureka" Moment.
Spray the Underskirt!!!
I bought another can of spray. Pinned the Underskirt to the Lean-To out the back of the house. And sprayed away. Next door came out into Her garden and thought i'd gone completely insane when She noticed what i was doing.
By that time i was high as a kite on the spray fumes. The Material was taking the spray and stiffening nicely and i was beyond caring LOL.
The Skirt from eBay arrived the next day so i attached the Underskirt to it between the netting on the skirt and the inner slip.
Hoorah, One Black Underskirt ready to go. :winktongue:

Next on the list was the Invitations. A friend of a friend did some and i was given a quote and some samples. They were Awful!!!
The price was a rip off and the samples were dire. I decided to revisit My friend eBay.
With a bit of searching i found a Lady who did batches of 30. Plenty enough for Our little Wedding. Once again they went on My watch list until the time was right to order. At the time We didn't have definate date booked with the Registry Office.
When We finally settled on October 11th. Which is also 6 Years to the day since i first met FH. I went ahead and ordered the Invitations.
By that time the price had risen a tadge. But it was still cheaper than the Tat the friend of a friend was trying to sell Me.
I e-mailed the seller to see if She could do Black Feathers instead of the White in the auction.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/wedding/weddinginvitation.jpg
She said She could and could add a Red Bow instead of the Ivory. The plan being a Red, Black and Ivory Wedding. She sent Me a couple of samples and Her phone number.
In the end We decided the Red Bow looked "Odd" and went for a Black Feather and Black Bow instead.
She also added Our names to the front at no extra charge.
Sorry the pic is BIG.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/wedding/untitled.jpg
I placed the order and heard nothing for weeks. I e-mailed Her again to find out what had happened. Turned out the Post Office had returned the parcel to Her. Put it in Her shed and not told Her it was there. Lucky enough they weren't damaged. So She re-mailed them.

OK, Back to this. Had to stop for food, belly was rumbling.
Went on eBay and found a little Satin Dolly Bag in Black. At the time i was still going with the Black Dress. I thought it would be ideal to put My Cigarettes, Mobile Phone and Lipstick in for the day. Against a Black Dress it wouldn't look out of place. Plus it's small enough to hide behind My Bouquet.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/wedding/53d9_1.jpg
But since changing Dresses i forgot all about getting another one. Oh well. Live and Learn.

10-02-2008, 02:39 PM
Because i never changed the colour of the bag. I was a bit worried about it looking out of place. But then i remembered an English Tradition that helped Me decide to stay with what i have.
In the UK. After the Wedding Ceremony and before the Photos. Guests give the Bride Good Luck Charms to hold with Her Bouquet.
Things like Horseshoes.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/horseshoe.jpg
Wooden Spoons.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/spoon.jpg
And Black Cats.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/blackcat.jpg
So the bag won't really notice that much.
Case solved :winktongue:

At the time i was still going with the Black Dress. I thought a pair of shoes in Red and Black were needed to give a bit of colour to the outfit.
Once again onto eBay i went and found what i was looking for.
I'm only 5ft 4in and FH is just under 5ft 9in. He got the short gene in His family. As You will see when the Wedding arrives and You see how tall His Brother is LOL.
Anyhow, i went all out and picked 4 inch heels. :bbeek:
Considering i'm normally in Hiking Boots or DM's. This would be a challenge and a total driving lesson in how to "Steer" High Heels.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/wedding/weddingshoes.jpg
When they arrived i noticed they were size 8 and i'm a 5.
Oh whoopiedo i thought, i wait Two weeks for them to arrive and they send the wrong size.
When i looked again. It was a US 8 which is a UK 5.
I put them on. OMG, Vertigo LOL
For the next week i put them on for an Hour a day and soon broke them in.

Back in July i had Surgery. During My time off work i set about making My own Bouquet.
I found this on eBay (wherever else lol) as inspiration.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/wedding/rosesnfeathers.jpg
The feathers made it stand out more than the usual Bouquet. So i decided to use feathers in Mine. Considering the Invitations had a feather. It made perfect sense to Me.

After many cups of Tea. A few choice words and trying to make it with a sleeping cat right on the bed. I managed it. But it came out MASSIVE.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/wedding/DSC03742.jpg
It wasn't heavy. But it was BIG. I put some reeds at the bottom to give it some length. But it still didn't look right.
Someone suggested putting the reeds through the flowers to bring the two together. But i took them out and had a think on it.

10-02-2008, 03:15 PM
Another "Eureka" moment. Big feathers at the bottom. :D
Back to eBay. As fortune would have it. In the next town a Lady was selling Black Ostrich feathers and Red ones too. Hoorah! Black for the Bouquet, Red for the Cake Table.
I redid the Bouquet in an half-hour mock up to see if i could also make it "Longer".
But it just looked like a car crash
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/wedding/DSC03762.jpg
I put it away. Thought about it for a day or two and decided it was the Green Leaves that were bugging Me.
There were too much Red in one place and too much Cream in another. Plus the leaves had to go.

Got home from work and took the Bouquet down from the vase it was sitting in.
It's stored in the room where FH's PC is and He looked to the heavens as i set about ripping it apart yet again.
Took the leaves out. Put it all back together. Pushed the stems in as far as possible so they wont fly out. Ending up with what i wanted.
Photo is a bit fuzzy because it's from my Phone. And that stray Green Leaf on the right shouldn't be there. Must have picked that up when i rushed the Photo.
FH is holding it. He was meant to be on air on the Internet Radio and not poncing about with flowers LOL.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/wedding/finalbouquet.jpg
I wanted tight Roses. With a few bits of Black between with the Feathers, Beads and Ribbon. Since then i've not touched it.
Result!!

Next on the list was the Buttonhole Flowers.
The Lady who made the inspiration Bouquet also makes Buttonholes. So i looked at Her site (Yep, eBay again lol). She was doing a great deal on Buttonholes. Worked out a lot cheaper and easier for Her to make them. Instead of Me mucking about and generally mucking them up.
Got Five of these.
Four for FH's Daughters and One for Our Female Witness.

Before any of the Buttonhole Flowers arrived. I changed My mind on My Wedding Dress.
Was at home minding My own business when i had a brainwave to have a look down the Charity Shop. Most are in town. But We have a massive Cancer Charity one just on the edge of town.
I drove down there and went inside.
There on a hanger was the Dress.
A Red Satin Full Length Dress. I assume used for a BM at one point. I took the risk and bought it without trying it on.
Paid £20 ($40) and took it home.
Rushed upstairs. Put it on. IT FITS!!!
Not one alteration needed. With the shoes it is about an inch off the floor. So an ideal length. Told FH about it and it sat on a tailors Dummy in His PC room for weeks until i finally showed Him.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/wedding/reddress.jpg
He's seen it on the dummy. But not Me wearing it.
When i showed Him the Black Dress He said He was glad i changed My mind because He didn't like the Black Dress.
Phew!!

A guy was selling these. 50 Roses with White feathers £10 ($20)
I almost killed My laptop hitting the Buy It Now button so hard.

Let Them Eat Cake.
FH's Two Youngest Daughters were here for a Week so We drove through to see a Lady about making a Cake.
Found Her on, You've guessed it, eBay :D
I wanted a Three Tier Stacked Cake and was going to go with someone local. Suggested by a friend who turned out not to be a friend after all. :snide: But that's another matter.
The first cake was OK. But being a Budget Bride i knew there would be a better deal out there. And i was right. The Lady from eBay is making Us a Three Tier Stacked Cake to Our exact spec. And She's delivering from 35 Mile away and setting it up a lot cheaper than the local Cake maker.
I haven't seen the finished product yet. But i've seen Her other cakes and they are gorgeous.
These were Our inspiration.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/wedding/3-tiered-rose-cascade.jpg
We've got a Fruit Bottom Tier. Chocolate Middle Tier and a Marble Top Tier.
The Top Tier was picked by FH's Daighters.
The Roses will be in Red. The Cake in Cream.
I sent the Lady some Ribbon the same as the Bouquet Ribbon to go round the Cakes. A Red Rose so She can match the colour. And some Feathers to use instead of "Leaves".

Once i ordered the Cake i set about looking for a Cake Stand. Most are really expensive. And then what do You do with them after the event?
Frisbee anyone LOL.
Even to hire one was expensive. So back to eBay.
Found the best of both worlds. Was looking for a mirror for Our dressing table when i came across this.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/wedding/cakestand.jpg
It has little feet on the bottom. Then after the Wedding We can put it on the wall.
It was advertised as 30 Inches but when it arrived it was 30 Centimetres across. I started to panic a bit because the cake is the same size. I wanted a bit of Mirror to show under the Cake. So i e-mailed the Cake Lady and She's altered the Cake to fit.
Problem solved. :D

FH normally works every hour available. But He let slip that He has the week off after the Wedding. So i jumped at the chance and booked a few days away in Port Merion in North Wales. They filmed the 60's Classice TV show "The Prisioner" there. Plus Iron Maiden (My second favourite band) did a video there too.
The Hotel is Four Star and set in the Countryside with the Mountains nearby.
Sounds ideal for Us. Me working in a Hotel and waiting on others. It'll make a change being waited on instead.
Plus FH works in the City of London with the hussle and bussle. So a few days in the middle of nowhere will do us both good.

Well the garden is almost finished.
I think more time and resources has gone into this than any of the Wedding Planning.
I've still got a bit to do before next weekend. But there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Bit of background.
We moved in here in October 2007. Normally Terrace houses like Ours have gardens the width of the house. But because We are on the end We are blessed (Or cursed, whichever way You look at it) with another 12 ft of garden on the side running the full length.
There were no flowers whatsoever. According to next door, the previous owners hated flowers and gardening in general.
The lawn was so long Our Cat would go out and all We could see was the tip of His tail.
The Two sheds needed clearing out and new roofs. More so the one at the back of the garden which would eventually become My shed.
The fence was in need of a lick of paint. Plus there was this awful Trellis around the top. Obviously nailed up but a Madman intent on keeping everyone out.
And the path was a death trap. Twice i've gone flying down it.
Here's a pic taken from the back bedroom. You can see the size i was up against as a solo project. FH works too many hours to do anything of substance around the home or garden. So it's all down to Me.
I had managed to cut the lawn before the photo was taken. But at the expense of My back and the death of a Lawn Mower within Ten Minutes of putting it to work. :bbeek:

FH decided it was time to tackle the path. I suppose He got fed up with hearing Me swearing everytime i went out to hang washing on the line LOL.
I was at work one Saturday and FH brought His Big-Boys-Toys home. One of the fence panels opens up fully as a gate. So FH pulled the Trellis off the top and drove His Digger into the garden.
I came home from work to find He was done and on His way back to the work yard to put the Digger under lock and key.
I was too scared to look outside. So i stayed away from the windows and didin't look out until He got back.
He walked and said He was going upstairs. So i couldn't hit Him when i saw the mess LOL.
I gingerly opened the door to be confronted with the biggest mound of rubble i have ever seen. It was about 6 ft High and about 8 ft across in all directions. Looking at the original path it was hard to comprehend that much mess from a single place.
So i got a huge 10LB hammer and proceeded to smash it to bits. This made smaller chunks to be bagged up ready to be taken away for re-cycling.
The bags were everywhere. And it would take Me months to get rid of them.
The last of it is still there with a week to go. :bbeek:

It looks like i wont be getting anything done tomorrow. We've got 80mm of rain forecast. Which is a months rainfall in one day. :bbeek:
The wind is battering the house at the moment. And with the massive Oak Tree outside it's not looking promising.
At least i got the front garden finished.

Today it has been hammering down with rain all day. So FH decided to go into town thinking it would be quiet.
Surely everyone will be indoors because of the bad weather.
It was PACKED!!! :bbeek:
It took us half an hour just to park the car. Considering there's a Credit Crunch in the UK. Everyone seemed to be out and about spending money.
For a spilt second i thought we'd gone through a time warp and it was really Christmas Eve LOL.
We managed to get all the drink in for the Wedding Reception. Everything from Spirits to Mixers and some Fizzies for the Kids.
Just the food to select on Thursday. Which the shop will then deliver direct to the door on the Friday.
We also bought a lovely joint of Pork. Which FH cooked when We got home.
I'm now sitting here completely puffed after that lovely Dinner. FH is an excellent cook. And i'm lucky to have Him. :D

In the city I live in, rain frightens people. It's like they've never seen or driven in the rain before (it rains here almost six months out of the year). They'll go ten under the speed limit and the stores are practically empty. It's glorious.
It must be nice to have a FH who can cook. I don't think mine even knows how to boil water. :)

Anyhow. Back to the Wedding. OMG Five Days to go. :bbeek:
We couldn't decide what song to have played while We signed the Marriage Lines. FH and Myself have a few songs that mean different things.
For instance
Thunder. "Once In A Lifetime"
Hazel O'Conner. "Will You"
Extreme. "More Than Words"
Paul Weller "You Do Something To Me"
But FH insisted it should be something New to Us. Something to start the "New Beginning" as Man and Wife.
We went through a rocky patch last year. It tested Our Love for each other. Was a kick in the teeth and a reality check in a split second. But We battled through it. Coming out the other side Stronger and more in Love than ever before.
So the search began. After a while He sent Me a link to Youtube so i could hear a song by Black Stone Cherry called "You".
He then tracked it down and put it on CD. This will be played when We sign as Mr and Mrs M. :D

Today i got up before the Sun and decided today was the day to load the car up with all the rubbish.
Hoorah!! Got rid of it all. :ura1:
FH got home as i was on My way back from the Recycle plant after dropping the last load. (Pppfth, perfect timing on His part lol)
It took Four trips to get rid of it. My poor Ford Focus looked like a Builders Yard when i finished. So i drove the car upto the house and hoovered Her out. Now She just needs a wash and She'll be ready for the Weekend.
I noticed some fooker has Keyed Her. Got a huge X on the door right down to the metal. Not happy about that. If i ever find out who did it. I'm gonna cut their frigging hands off. :irked:
We put the two Gazebos up in the garden ready for the Reception. But have dropped them down the legs halfway so they don't stick up over the fence. Somethings are best kept hidden for a while. Living right by the Park there's loads of kids up to no good. Don't want to encourage mischief.
Also got out the new solar powered garden lights. Put in another plant. Swept the Patio for the Millionth time. Painted the back door and a bit of Trellis i missed on the wall. (FH shouldn't have pointed it out lol)
I finally sat down 12 Hours later. My backs jumping and My nails are Black.
Back to work tomorrow for the rest LOL.

Aww that's a really nice thought!! I think I'd want the couple of days before my wedding to be my lady friends helping me do things like favours and decorations - try to relax and have fun while doing it, y'know? I think it would help keep me calmer if there were helpers, so hopefully having a friend to help you will keep you in the happy frame of mind, and not allow you to slip into the crazy "omg-wtf-tomorrow-is-my-wedding" state... :winktongue:
Sounds like you are a very organised bride though, and I seriously hope I can maintain your level as calm for as long before my wedding as you have!!! :boggle:
Plus you need to do another 25 posts or so in the next couple of days!!! You're soooo close!!
Btw, what day is it over there, Tues or Wed?? I think its Tues in the US because its Wed here, but time differences confuse me... :urgh:

We've had a change of heart on the Wedding Car AGAIN.
Plan "A" was using a "Friends" Jaguar. But when i had surgery back in July My Friend turned out to be very un-friendly. So We were going to use another car.
The Lady who is giving Me away knows someone with a Rolls Royce.
Plan "B" We were going to use that. But the nearer it got to the date. The more We couldn't warrant the added expense.
Plan "C" Use My Car. FH was going to the Registry Office with Our Male Witness. Our Female Witness was going to drive My Car with Me in the Back.
Yesterday i was at work talking to the Lady on Reception at the Hotel. She offered to take Our Guests from the Hotel to the Registry Office. Then She asked how i was getting there.
I told Her about using My Car. So She offered to take Me there in Her Car.
She's got a 7 Seater Chrysler Grand Voyager. And that if i used that i wouldn't get crumbled and creased. It has a huge sliding door on the side for My "Grand Arrival".
Hers is in Shiny Black and will look great in the pictures of Me in a Red Dress. :D
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/db_2000_Chrysler_Grand_Voyager.jpg
So it's decided that FH goes with Our Male Witness in their Car. The Female Witness comes with Me in the Voyager. Our other guests can use My Car and follow in that.
The Lady at work is meant to be "Working" But My Boss has offered to sit on Reception for an Hour. So the Receptionist can take Me. She will sit in on the Wedding then drive FH and Myself to Our Reception afterward. Then go back to work.
She doesn't want any payment for fuel. All She said was get some Ribbon for the front and She'll get Her Husband to clean the car and put the Ribbon on ready for Saturday.
It's moments like this that reinforces the goodness in people.
I'll get Her a big bunch of flowers and a nice Thank You card after the Wedding.
I'm chuffed to bits with the car. I always wanted something a bit different. And it's got to be better than a tatty old Jaguar or a Rolls Royce which most Brides in the UK use. :D

Oh, I so see her waiting until the last possible minute to post the big 2000! I kind a want to be here so that I can cheer from the sidelines, but those dang brits always have to be mischevious! :w00t:
