Eeeeeeeeeee!!! I just checked the tracking number and it says it has arrived in our post office! So they'll be delivering it along with our mail around 3:30 today. YAYAYAY!! I'm make sure to post pictures. I'm pretty excited. They had said it was going to be in at the end of April. I even e-mailed them just last week and they still said the end of April. And then this weekend I got an e-mail saying it was shipped out via Express mail and today it's here! Gotta love that whole overnight shipping thing when you pay the extra $60 rush fee. LOL I'm almost tempted to call and see if I can go pick it up!

And I'm in love. :D Still a little big, but only by about an inch, so that's why I'm holding it in the pictures. YAYAY!! See, honestly now....doesn't this one look so much better on my body than the other one?! (Please excuse the no makeup and messy hair...hehe) I'm not quite sure I want the black buttons anymore....I kind of like the back the way it is.....hmmmmmm...decisions, decisions.

Thank you everyone!! I'm even more in love with it now that it's in the right colors compared to the one I tried on in the bridal shop. I've been doing little happy dances all day! Hahaha. Awhile back I said I was having the custom alterations done with the buttons and a "secret" one...well...the "secret" is the neckline. We're making it more dramatic than it is right now, since it doesn't have embellishments, etc on it. Not sweetheart though....kind of like a modified sweetheart. It'll look more like a half cut-out oval/circle from the middle instead of the usual V in a sweetheart. Hard to explain, but it's going to be very cool. And add a little more something something to the dress. I'm still debating on the buttons.....:ooh:

A little bummed......my grandma that lives like 5 minutes away from Rotary Gardens(wedding location) sent her RSVP back yesterday, saying no. :whyme: Seriously?! Ah well. I'm not going to say anything because I don't want her to feel bad or anything.....it just kind of stinks that she's so close to where it's being held and doesn't want to come. It's been one of those "what gives?" things since I got it yesterday afternoon. It might be because we're already married...who knows. DH's grandpa wrote a cute little note on their rsvp card. :)

MIL called yesterday. She rented out 150 chairs for the garden, because we're nowhere close to a final headcount yet. We figure if we have more people than that, they'll just have to stand in the back or something. I really don't think we could fit more chairs than that anyways in the garden. She also asked if I could fly home 2 weeks before the wedding instead of driving up with DH the week before, because she wants me to talk to the lady at the garden and the Armory events coordinator, since he never returns either of our calls/e-mails. She just wants to make sure everything is how we want it. She even offered to pay for the plane ticket, but I told her we can cover it. She's so sweet.

I drop Bella off at her new pet sitter's house this afternoon. I know I'm going to tear up a little. She's all I have when DH is gone. Which, he's out all night again tonight, so it's going to be an extra lonely night. I'll probably be on OW to distract myself from this empty house. LOL But the girl is really nice and has another kitty that Bella can play with, and she said she doesn't mind at all if I want to stop over to see her from time to time. I'm really thankful that she is helping us out. :) And you'd better believe that as soon as she's dropped off, I'm calling Prudential and asking them where the heck our new stove is, because the oven has been broken for going on 3 weeks now! I have a homemade pizza kit that I'm dying to use, people!! Get with the program! Hahaha.

Since DH is going to be gone all night, DIY projects it is. And maybe I'll finally get around to taking some pictures of the bathroom baskets that have been done forever.....lol.

I just caught up on a few pages worth of posts I hadn't read yet! I'm so sorry about Bella, that stinks. Your dress is amazing, I love it! Hope the stress doesn't get too much. I'm 25 days away and I'm snapping at everyone. :(

The dress is gorgeous! I can't wait to see it when it's completed! I'm not even going to try to imagine it the way you described it, I'll just wait anxiously for the final product!

That really stinks about your grandma. I would be dying to know why, too! Maybe you could call her just to say hi and see how she's doing and tell her "hey I got your RSVP card and I'm really sad you won't be there to celebrate with us!" and hope she offers and explanation. (If it were me, I'd probably be sneaky and not mention the card, just ask if she would like someone to come pick her up or something, but I'm devious like that!)

I like Sandy's idea of calling your grandma. That is weird that she won't be joining you - maybe you could tell her you'd really like her to be there, if at all possible, and see if you could convince her to come. :)

I'm sorry about your grandmother....I suggest calling her...is she at an age where maybe she was confused?

I'm so sorry you have to drop Bella off today too and what a time to do it since DH is going to be gone. And yes you should get them to come and fix your stove ASAP!

I don't know about calling her....because then I feel like I'd be putting her on the spot. She's not super old or anything, no mix up, she just decided not to attend. I think it may be because my grandpa passed away awhile ago, and she doesn't want to come by herself. Oh well. I'll just have my mom give her copies of the pictures I guess.

I totally cried my eyes out and ran right into the curb with the mini on the way home from dropping Bella off. It didn't do any damage though, thankfully. But the girl that is taking care of her is extremely nice and said I can come over anytime that I want. I met her husband tonight too. They live in the base housing, so at least I know my baby is super safe. *Hehe* People have to get past MP's with guns to get in. I miss her so much already. Usually she would be laying up against my side sleeping right now.....:( I can't wait to move so I can have my snuggly sleeping baby kitty back. I took about 20 pictures of her before I took her over. Haha. It's a little sad how attached I am to that little kitty. But, on a good note, DH is coming home tonight! He just texted me telling me to come pick him up....I don't know if it has to do with me telling him I was crying or not....I'd hope not, but either way, he doesn't have to stay the night away anymore. Off to base to pick him up!

Did you talk to your mom about your grandma?

Docsgirl
04-07-2009, 07:20 PM
They just decided not to do the night training stuff tonight, so he'll have to stay over a different night. But, at least he's here tonight! I told him not to mention the kitty being gone, because it makes me cry.....I'm such a wuss. lol

I'll definitely tell my mom my grandma isn't coming, but it's not her mom that isn't coming, it's my late dad's mom.....so, my mom's MIL.....I don't think it's worth it to make a big deal out of it. She made her choice and it stinks, but nevertheless, if she wanted to come she would be. *Shrug*

I did the weather prediction thing for the day of our wedding at this is what I got for the city where it's all going down:

DATE May 30,2009
TEMPERATUREHIGH LOW75°F 51°F
Prob Cloudy 18
Ave Sun72
Prob Sunny28
RAIN SNOW 34% 0

Doesn't look too bad! I'm hoping it's more towards the high range, since the girls will be in short strapless dresses. If it's more towards the 50's, I'll just stop by the mall while we're in town for the hair and makeup appointments and buy them all cute black cardigans or something. ;)

It doesn't say if it'll be windy or not....with it being Wisconsin, it could really be either way. So, I've decided that if it's not windy, my hair will be down, inspired by these pictures:
http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq169/talymon/scarlett-johansson-hair.jpg
http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq169/talymon/hair-2.jpg

If it does decide to be windy, I don't want my hair flying all over the place so I found this updo:

And I'm actually really digging her makeup in it too. :D

Thanks everyone!! :D It's getting so close! 49 days!! Eeeek! Where has the time went?

I feel like death today. But it is completely and totally my fault. We had a cookout/beer pong tournament at our house. I lost 3 games. And since I don't like drinking regular beer, the deal was I would have to do a shot of tequila for all the games lost. Grosssss. Definitely got sick. :( Bad idea on my part.

I just booked my flight home, I leave on May 17th. DH will be joining the next week, since he could only get 10 days of leave approved, and he wanted a few days after the wedding to get back. I'm flying one-way, he's driving the mini and Bella up. :D My MOH is picking me up in Milwaukee, and we're going to go out to lunch and have some girly drinks and spend some time together.

I also have some pretty exciting news, and instead of re-posting the whole thing since there is already a thread started on it, I'll just link it. Exciting news is: here (http://forums.onewed.com/showthread.php?t=25657)

DH and I sat down yesterday and made a list of things we still needed to do, pay for, remember, etc. Looking at it all was a little overwhelming, but we started talking about when we would do what, etc.

We called DH's mom to tell her the international news. She was SO excited and started talking in Japanese. Hahaha. We go in this week to talk to them about the orders. Eeee! While DH was on the phone with her, he was telling her that we'd (me and his mom) would have to get most of the stuff when I get to Wisconsin so he doesn't have to try to shove it all in the mini. She told him that she had X amount set aside for our wedding, and when I heard the number, I swear my eyes almost popped out of my head! She said it our day and she wants us to have whatever will make us happy. DH then proceeded to tell her that she would never live in a nursing home, that she would live with us when she gets older. LOL He also told her that she would have to babysit our kids when she lives with us, which got her all excited about the baby subject.....until he told her we're planning on waiting about 7 years. Haha. She's being so generous, it's pretty unbelievable.

Less than a month until I'm there, and 40 days until the wedding! Taking my dress for the fitting today!

It's amazing how quickly they're over the whole wedding thing and start on the baby talk!

I had to tell my FMIL that she had to wait until AFTER the wedding to start applying pressure. Her reply "fine I'm counting 9 moinths from the wedding... I better have some grandkids!" And now his aunt is in on the campaign!!

The mean streak in me is keeping quiet about our plans to TTC already! :chimp:

I promise Im still around the boards! It's just starting to get crazy around here....lol.

Bella got a tapeworm. :( She could have been born with it and the surgery could have flared it up, or she could have eaten a random flea some how and ingested it....who knows. But she's home from the pet sitters for a few days because our pet sitters cat got one too. :( So we're separating the cats from each other for a few days until they're both back up to par, and she wanted to be able to scrub her house down so they don't get it again. She already got her medicine from the vet and seems to be doing better, but is really gassy. lol

It has been decided by DH and his mom that most of the stuff for the wedding is going to wait until the last two weeks while I'm home so we don't have to transport as much stuff. So, basically, her and I are going to be shopping for centerpiece stuff and decorations like little chickies with our heads cut off. Ohhhhh man. Talk about last minute! Send a few "energy" vibes my way anytime after May 17th. I'll love you for it. :winktongue: lol

I took my dress in for the fitting. I'm pretty excited. All of my alterations are going to cost like $72....maybe a tad bit more since I'm going to see if she can do one more thing for me. She looked at the dress and said she thinks it would look better with the black satin buttons on the back. Because she's the professional, I let her choose that part. She's also sewing in cups so I don't have to wear my longline bra. I loved the thing until the fitting when I noticed the line where it stopped was noticeable because of the fact that my dress is going to fit like a second skin. Hemming the front, adding some stiffening in the train part so it lays a little bit nicer and doing the neckline as well. Compared to the $180 from before with the first dress, you can only imagine how much material was being cut out and re-sewing was being speculated. lol

DH gets his letter of orders so we can move tomorrow when he goes in for work. I'm wondering how long we're going to tell Prudential we're going to need....I'm hoping no more than a week or two. I can't wait to move! Besides, when I fly home, I'll be flying out of the city we're moving to, so it'll just make it that much more convenient. :D And I finally got ahold of my mom to tell her the Japan news, and she was excited for us. I was sooo afraid she was going to be sad, but her reaction was "Oh, that's so cool! That's a once in a lifetime opportunity!" ....this is why I love her so. Even though she's going to cry and miss me, she's completely stoked for us. :D

My older brother finally wrote me back today via e-mail and said he's got the go ahead to leave Korea to come back for the wedding! I'm soooo excited! I haven't seen him in over a year and had sent him a few unanswered messages to see if he was going to be able to come, so I was kind of assuming that he wouldn't be able to make it. But you know what they say about assuming....it makes an @ss out of u and me. Hehe.

Other than that, I'm just doing the prewedding workouts and primping stuff. Getting the hair done (trim and touch up color) right before I fly back home so it has two weeks to settle. Tanning at Gold's Gym even though I hate it. lol (If your wondering, I just bought the same eyewear I already own from them so they would shut up about it and let me tan.) Does anyone know if you can go to other Gold's Gym locations if you have a membership with them? I would hate to move to the city only to drive back here every other day to tan.....

Bella is doing very well! Her recheck appointment is tomorrow, but everything seems to be on the up and up with her! :D

I would definitely be getting a jeweled brooch/pin if I was doing that hairstyle, and probably a few feathers as well. I really like the curly hair, but the thing that is getting me a little nervous is that I don't have time to do a hair trial....so if I hate it the day of, there wouldn't be much I could do, know what I mean? And it would save me money if I just straightened my hair, curled the ends, and tied it to the side. If there's wind....no biggie. lol I love them both about the same, so I'm trying to get as much input from everyone!

I can't sleep. Miguel is in the field for 2 weeks, and it's his first night away tonight. So here I am, still awake at 4:25am when I know I have to be up in 4 hours to take Bella to her appointment. This officially sucks. The worst part is that I used to be able to sleep just fine alone when I lived in my own apartment. But now that I've gotten used to him always sleeping next to me, my bed feels huge and empty. Ughhhhh. It's gonna be a long two weeks. And then we'll be back together for a week, and then apart for another week when I fly back to Wisconsin. Booooo. :(

And with the help of an officiant (not doing our ceremony, but she's just so sweet and wanted to help) I present to you.....our ceremony! :D

Gathering Words
Friends and family welcome. We are gathered together to celebrate the love between Miguel and Tara.
All of us need and desire to be loved, in that sense, the highest form of love between two people is within a monogamous, committed relationship.
Miguel and Tara, your wedding today is the joining of your souls that have already been united as one in your hearts.
Marriage means standing together to face life and the world, hand-in-hand and heart with heart.
To be successful, you will need strength, courage, patience, and a really good sense of humor.
So, let your marriage be a time of waking each morning and falling in love with each other all over again.
May your future together be filled with joy, happiness, excellent health, and success.
And may the blessings of humankind be upon you now and forever.

Miguel and Tara, I ask you now to join hands.

Blessing of the Hands
These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever.
These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as together you build your future.
These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other.
These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief fills your mind.
These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow, and tears of joy.
These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children.
These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one.
These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it.
And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.

I ask now for the rings you have chosen to symbolize your commitment to one another.

Blessing of the Rings
Marriage is a commitment to life, the best that two people can find and bring out in each other.
It offers opportunities for sharing and growth that no other relationship can equal.
It is a physical and an emotional joining that is promised for a lifetime.
Within the circle of its love, marriage encompasses all of life's most important relationships.
A wife and a husband are each other's best friend, confidant, lover, teacher, listener, and critic.
Marriage deepens and enriches every facet of life.
Happiness is fuller, memories are fresher, commitment is stronger, even anger is felt more strongly, and passes away more quickly.
Marriage understands and forgives the mistakes life is unable to avoid.
It encourages and nurtures new life, new experiences, new ways of expressing a love that is deeper than life.
When two people pledge their love and care for each other in marriage, they create a spirit unique unto themselves which binds them closer than any spoken or written words.
Marriage is a promise, a potential made in the hearts of two people who love each other and takes a lifetime to fulfill.

With that, I ask you, Miguel, to share your vows and to take Tara's ring and place it on her finger.

Miguel's Vows
(unknown)

Tara, I ask you now to share your vows and to take Miguel's ring and place it on his finger.

Tara's Vows
(done, but keeping them secret in case he peeks!)

Marriage Promise
May your marriage bring you all the excitement marriage should bring, and may life grant you also patience, tolerance, and understanding.
May you always need one another-
no so much to fill your emptiness as to help you to know your fullness.
May you want one another, but not out of lack.
May you entice one another, but not compel one another.
May you succeed in all important ways with one another, and not fail in the little graces.
May you look for things to praise, often say "I love you!" and take no notice of small faults.
If you have quarrels that push you apart, may both of you hope to have good sense enough to take the first step back.
May you enter into the mystery which is the awareness of one another's presence- no more physical than spiritual, warm and near when you are side by side, and warm and near when you are in separate rooms or even distant cities.
May you have happiness, and may you find it making one another happy.
May you have love, and may you find it loving one another.

Conclusion
This wedding ceremony is the public recognition of a commitment that Miguel and Tara have already made privately.
This is also their commitment to all of you attending and witnessing this event. They are very much surrounded by all their loved ones and they are surrounded by people who know them and know of their love for each other.
By inviting you to bear witness to their vows this day, they have chosen to take you with them on their journey together.
It was love that brought you here today. It's love that makes yours a beautiful union. And it will be love that makes your marriage endure.
Love has given you wings, and your journey has already begun. Wherever the wind may carry you, you will stay by each others side.
I join with everyone gathered here today in the extending to you our love and support, and to wish for your relationship to just simply flourish and grow throughout a long and happy life together.

Therefore, it is my pleasure, to recognize you as husband and wife. You may kiss your bride!

Presentation of Couple as One
Ladies and Gentleman please rise.....
It gives me great pleasure and honor to present to you:
Mr. & Mrs. Montoya!

(I'm pretty proud of it. Hardwork pays off! :D Now if I didn't get teary eyed reading the vows I wrote for him...it would be perfect! lol)

I got teary eyed, but I never could make it through reading the ceremony without getting teary eyed. I knew it was going to be impossible for me to say it to him and not tear up. I was proud that I didn't become a blubbering idiot. haha

Even if you cry it's OK, tears of joy are always a good thing.

I also love the aisle.

:D Now if I didn't get teary eyed reading the vows I wrote for him...it would be perfect! lol)

Thanks everyone!!! :D Neither of us is religious, so I really like that it doesn't have to do with that, but at the same time means a lot. Our parents are all from different backgrounds (Roman Catholic, Jehovah's Witness, Lutheran/Methodist) so we didn't want to step on any toes and went the spiritual route instead. DH will have to look it over when he gets back from the field in 2 weeks, but I'm sure he'll like it. Comes out to about 15-20 minutes with our vows and all. Which is great. I was aiming for 30 minutes max.

31 days left. 2 1/2 weeks until I fly home and immerse myself in the insanity of doing everything last minute.....it'll all come together though. :)

Great job Tara, it's perfect. :)

I love the new hair, I think it would look great with your dress.

I also love the aisle.

I can't wait to see your pictures. ;)

I'd be willing to put money on it that a few tears fall. I cry just reading it on the computer screen, let alone trying to say it out loud to him, while looking into his eyes! Makes me a little teary just thinking about it, and that's just imagining him looking at me with his cute little smile....now if he starts to get teary....I'm gonna be like a leaky faucet! lol

Went in for my 2nd fitting today. Few things.

Number one. My seamstress rocks. Seriously, she is the coolest.

The neckline I had envisioned....she did it better than I had imagined. The hem....perfecto. It *almost* drags on the ground in the front, but is just high enough that it won't get the front of the dress dirty when I have to walk through the grass at the garden. So, it's like, skimming the ground. The cups she has sewn in have the option to add takeouts (aka push up pads). Awesome. She was right about the black buttons down the back. Looks amazing.

It was still a little loose in the top and the waist when I went in today. But she pinned it right up as tight as that puppy would go and said to see if I could get out of it or if she might have to lengthen the zipper. I could get out. So. Yessss. And she's going to go ahead and add the stiffening in the train.

Said it should be done in a few days. Woooot! I'm completely stoked. And she gave me a brand new dress bag to keep it in.

So any girls in NC, if you're on the eastern coast, JC Carolina Formals. It's run by Pamela. And she will do whatever you want. She custom makes dresses as well, but by far, some of the quickest and best seamstressing I've ever seen. I'm seriously thrilled with her work, and am going to tell everyone I know down here to go to her for ballgown, wedding, whatever alterations. :D

That's so cool that your seamstress is working out. :) It's hard, in these situations, when you're working on something so important - your wedding - and you have to go out and find vendors for things you don't usually use in your daily life - seamstress, baker, florist, whatever - it's so nice when you find people who are easy to work with and can recommend! I got lucky with my seamstress too - she just happened to be IN the store I bought my dress from...not working there...just happened to be in there. She did the work at home - didn't even have a shop - but she was fabulous.
I'm so happy you're going to have a dress you love! :)

I completely agree. I was a little nervous at first, as I'm sure everyone is, because it's my wedding dress. But after seeing it, I feel silly for worrying! I saw another dress hanging up in the back that she was working on, and it's just beautiful. She works out of her home as well, but she also has a few other girls that help her out. And thanks!

So, a few more things.....

I'm debating whether getting the bright red chucks or these black flats:

The flats are only $12 and they're cute. But chucks are chucks......lol. I'm stuck yet again. But I should probably figure this out within the next two days or so, so I can order them.

And I found another ponytail bride, and love her hair as well......

I totally would, and was seriously considering it, but I think DH would tell me to pick one, and that I have enough shoes. But I already do have black and white pinstriped chucks, and the reverse ones that are white with the black soles....so maybe I could just throw them on for a few pictures. I need some new cute black flats for going out anyways. And $12 is a lot cheaper than the $40 for converse. Every little bit we can save matters right now. This wedding is getting expensive! And although DH's mom has told us a number that she's willing to contribute that made us do this :bbeek:, I'd rather still try to be as budget-friendly as possible.

But bright red chucks would still be cute as hell. Ughhhhh. Haha.

LoL, all my father wears are chucks. I told him about you wearing chucks for your wedding. He immediately said he needed so see pictures and asked me why I didn't. haha

I actually really like the BM bouquets. It's "layered" circles of roses. Thought that was pretty cool....may attempt for our wedding since we're DIYing the flowers. Who knows. lol

I can't believe it's in a month. All this planning for one day! Haha. I'm sure DH will love having me back to himself when it's all said and done with.

Speaking of which.....a lot of the hotels are already booked up. I'm lame and waited forever. lol So, now we're either stuck with a super 8, or a hotel that's 15 miles away and $119 a night. But, it has a jacuzzi tub in the room. And a mirror. :winktongue: Probably a little TMI. hahaha. I think I'm going to pull for the suite. We'll have to see what DH wants.

Alright, so little speed bump here in the road. DH's task was arranging for a chaplain from great lakes to come perform our ceremony. He filled out the request form, they called, asked what denomination we were looking for, he said we're from all different religious backgrounds so that it didn't matter, and the dude said okay and that he would call us back.

That was 2 weeks ago. Haven't heard a peep from anyone since.

So, I'm taking it upon myself to try to get an answer from them. If they don't want a chaplain to perform it because we didn't do the pre-marital counseling sessions even though we're already married beforehand, that's fine. Really, it is. But we need to know, so we can arrange to pick up the sabers for the arch of sabers, and so we can get a different officiant to do it.

I know, I know. The military does everything according to it's own time.....but I neeeeeed to know! lol

Hahahaha.

To follow up on the chaplain post from last night. I filled out another request form online andd.......

I was awoken this morning by a call from a chaplain at Great Lakes. Since we hadn't heard back from them in 2 weeks, I figured I'd take it upon myself to get in touch with them and see if we could get this whole marriage ceremony squared away. He pulled up the notes on his computer he had on our chaplain request....apparently, he had given Mr. Lover the info on who to call....2 weeks ago.

Hhhhhhh. lol So, I call the correct chaplain's office and her receptionist tells me that she'll have the chaplain call me on Monday, because she is out for the day. And that she doesn't know if the chaplain will be able to perform the service now, because we'll need 4-6 pre-marital counseling sessions, even though we're already married. Had we started this two weeks ago, there probably would have been enough time to sort out the kinks, we could have started the sessions by phone conference, etc, etc.

Yikes. So thanks hubs, for dropping the ball on this one.....lol.

Now, how in the heck am I going to get the clearing for the sabers we need? Ask his best man that is stationed in Thailand to do it? Hahahahaha.
(That was a joke, btw)

I kinda figured you were. ;)

I have to admit, I was a little upset this morning when I found out that he had the information 2 weeks ago and when I asked him about it like a week ago, he said no one had gotten back to him yet....:snide:. He is pretty forgetful though, so I kind of have to just take it in stride with everything else. Like the fact that he said my birthday was 2 days before it actually is. It's not that he doesn't care......he just doesn't remember. LOL That and the fact that the chaplain called him while he was at work. He's always busy and distracted with sewing some guy up or treating an STD or something (Eeeewwww, I know. But, that's what happens when you have about 10,000 marines and 5 gentleman's clubs in one town....and "escorts". :gurn: Yuck. There have been so many times where a guy will call his phone in the middle of the night and the first words out of DH's mouth will be "What was her name and what strip club did you meet her at?") So, needless to say, if it kind of went in one ear and out the other, or he didn't write the number down....I can totally see where he would forget.

So, our deadline for RSVPs was on the 30th, and we're still getting some in the mail. Haha. I guess it's better that they send them late than never, but we're still going to have to make a lot of phone calls this upcoming week. And by we, I mean the moms and I. DH is still in the field for another week. :( But, I did get to see him tonight, even though I wasn't supposed to. We're so sneaky. lol They let the guys go back to base for an hour to shower, and he told me to meet him there. lol So I did, and we got to spend like 45 minutes together, which was pretty nice.

He's made surprise plans for us on Friday as well, the day he gets out of the field. We made a bet on the superbowl, which I won, but for the life of me, I can't remember what the wager was. But he said that he's keeping his end of the deal and that I'm going to need a toothbrush and some clothes packed....but then said we weren't going anywhere, with the most serious look on his face. I'm genuinely confused, but kind of excited to see what he has planned.

I've also been looking at more hairstyles....back to the all down and vintagy look.
http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq169/talymon/evan-rachel-wood.jpg
A little odd that my two of my inspirations for the down hairstyles are associated with Marilyn Manson. LOL I just noticed that today. I was just like "Huh. That's kind of funny."

But yeah.....definitely not digging ERW's makeup in that picture, but her hair looks fantastic. Hhhhhh. I like how I've got about 4 weeks to go and can't make up my mind for anything. Hehehe. That's me for ya.

awesome, and so super romantic. :D

He took me camping....on the beach! We left Friday afternoon and got back Sunday morning. Literally, the ocean was right in front of us. Like feet away. I didn't even know you could camp on the beaches here. There is a spot in Carolina Beach called the North End, which is one of very few unrestricted beaches in NC. We were able to have a campfire, drink wine, walk along the beach with the moon lighting our way. It was really sweet, and not expensive at all! :) He was thinking smart with the wedding coming up.

I got some sun, we watched a surfing competition on Saturday that they were hosting at the beach, swam in the ocean and snuggled in sleeping bags together. Cooked all of our food over the campfire. I had so much fun. He took me out for breakfast in the morning yesterday on our way home, and we both called our moms to wish them a happy mother's day.

But when we got home last night, I was doubled over in stomach pain. It basically felt like the worse cramp in the world, but in my stomach. :( So, DH went to Walgreens as I laid in bed all teary eyed, and got me Pepto and Sprite. I don't know what it was, but the Pepto sure seemed to help a lot after about 45 minutes. It's still a little unsettled today, so probably more Pepto with breakfast.

19 days and counting! :D

Yeah, we're still kind of undecided on tables/centerpieces again. Me and the MIL are going to go shopping when I get to Wisconsin to figure it all out. But thanks for the link! :D

I'm almost thinking I'm going to need to wear my hair up though....I think it looks better from the back when I have it pulled up like that....opinions?!

WOW! It looks great!!!! I love the black buttons, it totally makes a difference!

I agree, hair up. I think with the mermaid style, hair down kinda takes away of the shape of the dress.

Love the black buttons. I agree your hair down might take away from the dress. Either way that dress is fantastic and you look great in it.

I think one of those low pony tail styles you've already posted would be stunning with your dress. You look awesome by the way! The black buttons are great, and the silhouette on you is great...but you already knew that! :-P

Thanks so much ladies! I'm home now and it's all starting to get hectic. Meeting with the vendors, figuring out decorations, getting accessories, etc. My dress made the flight just fine! :D I'll try to keep this updated as much as possible, but I've been running around since I got off the plane!

I guess I should probably post some of the new stuff. I got my earrings. They're DiamonArt, usually $189, on sale for $69, got another 40% off with the big sale they were having at JCPenney, had a gift card with a little bit left on it, so I ended up spending $11.86 on them! :D Score.

They're so super sparkly in person. Felt a little big at first since I don't really wear earrings much besides studs, but I love 'em.

Here's the new hair inspiration of the day. I like it. I think it will go well with the dress. And my veil....which is coming up next.

(My earrings are pretty much the same size as the ones she has on)

I'll probably wear it tilted like in the second picture. I think that's all for the update now. My bridal shower is this Saturday, so yipee!

Woohoo, great deal on the earrings. I know you're super busy but don't let yourself be so busy you forget to enjoy it. I think you should definitely wear the veil tilted, it looks great that way. I can't believe you're getting married (again ;)) in just 12 days! I'm so excited for you.

I'm looking forward to your next post.

Thanks everyone!!! :D

Went to SIL's track meet today with MIL, and afterwards we stopped by the florist in town and ordered flowers. YEP. With 11 days to go we ordered all the flowers for the ceremony. And I'm getting my rose and burgundy calla lily bouquet! It's not going to have quite as many callas as the inspiration because callas are on the more expensive side, but I'm getting a black baccara rose and burgundy calla bouquet. I'm pretty stoked about that.

The BMs will be carrying red and white rose bouquets. The florist said it would look better than just the red on red. The flower girl will get a smaller scale bouquet of what they will be having.

Mommies will have red rose corsages.

Grandmas will have smaller red rose corsages with some babies breath.

My brothers, DH's dad, the ringbearer, and the ushers will have a single red rose bout.

I'm not quite sure what we decided on for the grandpas bouts...either red and white or just white....lol

Then MIL picked out some pretty arrangements in red and white for the ceremony displays.

I'm actually kind of glad I don't have to DIY the flowers. They'll just be done and delivered. One less thing to do, and one more thing crossed off the list! But I will still be making the toss bouquet with real touch flowers from Hobby Lobby, just because it'll hold up better when I throw it. ;)

Toss bouquet I made today:

http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq169/talymon/tosshandle.jpg

10 days to go! On a bad note, one of my BMs called today to tell me she still hasn't received her dress yet. So I called the place we ordered them from and said they have until Monday to have it on her doorstep or they will need to give her a full refund, otherwise, I'm going to report them to the BBB. UGH. But, I told her if worse comes to worse, we'll go find her a red dress somewhere when she gets here.

First of all, the toss bouquet looks FAB! Secondly, I hope she gets her dress on time. But I certainly appreciate your cool and calm and collected attitude toward it. That's all you can do, so good job on not sweating the small stuff! 10 days! :)

Thanks everyone.

Okay, so a little bit of a downer. One of my BMs won't be able to make it anymore. Her boyfriend was just in a car accident this morning (on his birthday!) and broke his tibia and fibula. :( However, this is the BM who hadn't received her dress, so it kind of works out in a weird way. Although the place we ordered them from called me this morning and said they were overnighting her dress to her house and that they apologize for the delay. I feel so bad for her bf. He's one of my friends too, and he apologized and feels so bad that they won't be able to make it. They're losing out on quite a bit of money too with their plane tickets, hotel room, and everything. *sigh* Poor guy. His vehicle got t-boned at work. I told him that I hope they can fix him up good and give him some good meds for the pain.

On a brighter note, got my placecards today. They're pretty gnarly. lol

Your garters look fantastic. :) Sorry to hear about your BM and her boyfriend! I hope he's ok. It's really too bad she'll be unable to make it, but at least you know it's for a good reason and it's not some crazy last minute flake out. He'll be ok, right?

How are you feeling? Getting nervous? Giddy? Just want it over with?? Hahaha :)

Docsgirl
05-21-2009, 07:31 PM
Thank you both!

Yeah, I'm a bit of a procrastinator, so I've finally got the motivation. Hahaha.

As for the guy, he'll be okay. I asked if he was okay and his response was "No. My leg is all f**ked up! I'm so sorry!!" He's just in a lot of pain right now and pretty pissed off about his leg. We may swing by their house on the way home to give her the bm gift and see how he's doing if they're up for it. :)

And now I'm off to get ready to go out for Thirsty Thursday with my girls. Half price margareeeeeeeetas! Haha.

I'm starting to get excited. A little nervous about all the people. But I'm pretty good!

It's 7:57am right now, I've been up since about 7:30. All of my bridesmaids are still sleeping away. I lost my earrings last night somewhere along the way to the hotel suite....went back to look for them and didn't end up finding them. So hopefully either someone else sees them just laying around, or I'll be replacing them with different ones.....that's been the only major kink so far! Just popping on to say hey to everyone and that I'll be back soon with TONS of pictures. We have 3 photographers now.....yeah. lol
