Rental Timeframe

So we're going to need to rent tables and chairs for our reception venue, whether we go with the fire hall or the campgrounds and I was wondering how far in advance did people rent their tables and chairs? We're getting married during a big race weekend so I know I want to get it done early but would right after we get the reception venue secured be too early? Is there any such thing as too early?

In wedding planning, I definitely don't think there's a such thing as "too early." Just to be on the safe side with such a big event happening that weekend, I would book as much as possible as soon as you can.

As long as you have a good estimate of guests, know the date, place, and have the deposit money, it's a good idea to do it early.
