Our Awesome Wedding story plus pics

Even after 2 weeks I am still smiling and thinking about the memories of our day. The events leading up to the wedding was not so good but the wedding itself turned out so AWESOME that is the single word I can use to describe the whole thing. Here is the story with pics from my guest. I haven’t gotten my professional pics yet.

The morning before the wedding I called the wedding planner to see if she was going to come to the rehearsal dinner. I left a message and 3 hours later she calls to cancel on me. Of course I am upset about it but she really didn't do anything to help me and kind of glad she canceled since it would be more people I had to deal with.

That morning Kimberlee (from the Vintage Gardens Vendor) found out during breakfast and she volunteer to help out as the wedding planner for that Venue. We had a quick breakfast, of course I couldnt eat because all of the excitement.

We first went to my mom’s house and met my younger brother and we loaded up the decorations in 3 cars and headed to the reception place. We met my older brother and his girlfriend there to help us with decorations. When we first got there it looked like this! YUK!

We spent over 5 hours which I thought was going to take 30 minutes! LOL


The morning of the wedding
Vietnamese Ceremony

Well first off I woke up LATE!! Hahaa I was all up the night before thinking about what I am suppose to do and what I am going to. What I left out etc etc.

Thank god the hair dresser called me and woke me up. She came out to the venue and was working on the MOH’s hair while I was showering and stuff. I can’t believe I woke up late for my own wedding. Then I came down and waited for her to finish the MOH’s hair and they made me eat I couldn’t, it took me 30 minutes to eat half of a banana. I was too nervous!

She did my hair and makeup I didn’t really like it but I couldn’t see it because I had a turban on. Until I saw some of the pics and was like eh I could of gotten it done better.

Of me and her went 45 minutes away to my mom’s house to get ready for the ceremony. I left my dress at her house so I didn’t have it. As we approached my mom’s house I could see all the cars there from my brothers and uncles and was getting so excited. I saw the photographers and videographer there already taking test shots. And he got a few of me running inside the house. Lol I stopped on my way to my room to the kitchen where my mom and aunts where to say hi. The camera guy followed me and took a few pics.

As me and my BM’s, MOH and mom were in the rooms changing the guys arrive and they begin setting up. Getting the pig and 6 trays of gifts for the bride’s parents. It’s Vietnamese tradition that the groom give these gifts to the parents to show them that he can take care of their little girl. 1 tray of sweet sticky rice showing that they stick together forever, 1 tray had 2 cans of special tea and 2 bottles of Hennessey, other trays were with 2 of ea something like candy and other sweets.

My uncle said some words and we lit some incense for my grandfather who is no longer with us and presented everyone with a shot of Hennessey as our appreciation that they came to see us get married. Some people also gave us some envelopes of money as our wedding present.

Then we all caravan back to Vintage Gardens for the outside ceremony.

We get to Vintage Gardens and the guys go relax outside on the patio and all the girls are upstairs in the room changing.

Imade a big boo boo on my dress. I laugh about it now but then I was hysterical. LMAO

So a day earlier I got my period, lol forward, the hair dresser comes back and does my hair. She puts my veil on and my dress came on. It’s a corset so of course it took forever. Once it was on I felt my tampon get full, OH NO! I need to chance my tampon; I had 2 choices, 1 to take off my dress or 2 to do it with it on. I choose 2 of course lol I did fine until OOPS I dropped the used tampon on my train LMFAO! OMG I screamed bloody murder and EVERYONE came running in including the photographer. I think he even got me pouting and looking down at my dress so sad LOL It wasn’t that bad one of the BM took out her BM survival kit that I gave them and used the bleach pad I put in there and waallaa it was gone. LOL

Well anyways I should have been packing my reception book bag but of course I didn’t. I went downstairs and was being nosy how everything is looking downstairs. On the way back it was raining cats and dogs I was so worried it was going to rain and we would have to move everything inside.

I came downstairs and waited behind the stair well where no one saw me and waited until everything began. The first thing that I recognized was the QUARTET! They sounded sooooooo wonderful. OMG it was awesome. Here are some pics of the before the ceremony.

Everyone at the gazebo awaiting for the bride. We had a situation with the flowergirls, they wanted to make a few detours through the crowd towards the grandmothers then to the gazebo. It was so funny I was laughing my butt off.

A big sigh of relief I had! LOL For the next 2 hours we were taking pics. People were gathered around the tents mingling. I set up some snacks there and a few drinks with our water bottles and custom water bottle labels lol

When we got ready to head to the reception everyone chipped in and grabbed all the flowers.

here we are arriving at the ceremony. Everything looked so awesome! It changed the whole thing so much with just chair covers. It made the difference.

The food was soo good but we didnt finish any of it, we had to get up every 5 minutes to dance or play a game or do something. Everytime I walked by the back tables they would stop me and ask me to take pics with them. I felt so cool :D

One game we played on Jacob was the garter toss, he had to put the garter on me then take it off blind folded. I came in the center and sat down, they blind folded him and I got up and my BROTHER sat down on the chair and rolled up his pant leg LMAO we had the whole reception LAUGHING!!

I have to say our wedding came out 10X better than my cousins and people stayed even after we left. At her reception they left after the lobster was served. At my reception they were still dancing and wanting to karaoke more as we were walking to the limo.

Our cake was for 200 people not including the top tier, we only had 175 people but they ate it ALL! Even the top tier! LOL

Omg I had such a blast I want to do it again minus the stress prior to the wedding lol.

Absolutely beautiful pictures from beginning to end. You made a lovely bride! I loved the colorful traditional Vietnamese pictures and also you in your white dress. My goodness! And the decorations came out lovely for your reception. Congratulations!

Wow the wedding sounded like a real blast. Glad you had a light hearted attitude through the whole thing. My heart skipped a beat during the tampon part. Glad to hear it all worked out. BTW: I was in the same boat as you with the rain. Glad we were both able to enjoy some outside time :)
