Well, I was on a roll yesterday by doing laundry. I washed a dog bed (the bed and cover) as I mentioned in a previous thread. Well, the darn thing tore apart in the dryer and I had Doug look at it this morning. We cleaned the hose out of the back. I threw another load in and it never dried like after 3 hours! :irked: So, Doug had to tear the hole dryer apart and there was more stuffing and cedar chips in the vent! I am surprised we didn't have a fire, I mean it was CLOGGED! So he gets it put back together and the air is flowing properly, but now I am super scared to use the darn thing! I learned my lesson to never wash a dog bed again!:bbcry:

Hmm, I don't know. How long have you had it for? It could be something that just happened over a long period of time.

Anyway, I'm glad Doug was able to fix it!

OH no...well how are you supposed to clean the darn thing???

Maybe don't dry it?!?!?

I had a pillow rip apart once because you weren't supposed to dry it. I would assume that is the same case with that. At least DH was able to clean it out good, and like you said, at least it didn't start on fire.

On another note, your poor dogs are missing a bed!! :bbcry:

I don't want to scare anyone here. Nor put a damper on it. (Dani's Dryer Wouldn't dry it anyhow LOL)

But i never go out and leave either My Washing Machine or Dryer on. Nor do i put them on while i'm asleep. A Woman staying in the Hotel (Where i work) went out and Her house caught fire. Hence She was staying at the Hotel for a Month while they rebuilt Her home. :bbeek:

Maybe the blockage was caused over time. I clear Mine out on a regular basis.
(Normally when We move house which seems to be every year LMAO)
I do the hose every Three Months and the Filter everytime i use it.

Well I have the dryer on now as I type.

The blockage was all of the stuffing from that bed. When we cleaned it out, it was the black filler that was in the bed. From now on I am only washing the cover only! :)

The bed is still ok, it used to be oblong, now it is well, just a ball shape! lol They can scratch at it or whatever to make it comfy.

No smoke smell yet!

Did the dog bed not have a zipper where you could removed the cover to clean, but leave the stuffing part?

Hope it all works out and is working well again!

I freak out about leaving my washer/drying running when I am out too.

Awww what a mess!

I am pretty sure that I have done the same before but I don't remember drying it. I did have a washing machine to clean out though.

Yeah, the cover comes off, but I thought I would just wash the whole thing. Not anymore!

Yeah, I don't think you are suppose to put the inside stuffing part in the washing machine; guess you figured that out the hard way ;)

Yeah, unfortunatley. Poor Doug...he ended up doing the clean up. :snide:
