Well Saturday April 22, 2006 I was upstairs trying to get ready when I heard his truck pull up, a few minutes later he rang the door bell (???) now since he has a key and I was TRYING to hurry up and get ready I stomped down the stairs and kinda grumbled at him for ringing the bell and not using his key...once I opened the door (only slightly with me standing out of view of the neighbors, because I was wearing Wranglers and a bra) he said, "Good morning Mrs. ******", now he's called me that before...so not until he stepped in the door did I catch on to what was happening...there he stood in his cowboy hat and boots with a ring box in his right hand...he just grinned and I started jumping up and down (which he later said was very stimulating since I was only wearing Wranglers and my bra)! I cried, wrapped my arms around his neck and dang near stangled the poor man. He just kept saying he loved me and then he took my hand and started to put the ring on my finger...now this is where it gets funny...I curled that left hand ring finger under and just stared at him, he kinda got that deer in the headlight look and said, "Here ya go darling", to which I so eloquently replied, "Is that all you're gonna say"? He started laughing, and said, "Will you marry me"? Now not yet two weeks later I'm smack dab in the middle of planning a wedding for July 29th!

I have been dreaming of this day for so long that when it happened I FLEW into action. I have 6 attendants on each side, my girls will be wearing black and white Forever Yours Bridesmaid Dresses #76103 (in case you want to take a peek) at thebridalshop.com...they are ordered and on the way. My sister is making the cake (she does cakes on the side for pleasure for other people) and she is also making my keepsake garter and tossing garter. Our flowers are red roses and the groomsmen will be in black tuxes with black cowboy hats and boots, the groom will be wearing tails and his ARHA World Show buckle that he won last year (he was 7th out of 49 entries)! My FMIL is making all the flowers and helping with the decorations for the reception at the church and the formal reception in town (we already have all of that purchased and are currently working on them as we get time). I have just about everything purchased and on it's way! The preacher is an old family friend, his wife is working on my video to show at the reception (baby pics of me and my FH and pics of us together set to music). The reception hall has been booked, the church (oh that's another story) is in the process and it's flowing along fairly easy (other than some power struggles between me and other family members regarding what I want in our wedding)...have no fear I can handle it, I may have to strap on some spurs and do some "schooling" but I will stand firm!
Eric (my FH) and I met in February 2005 (on my mom's birthday) at an ARHA(horse show) conference...we both have been previously married, both of our ex spouses cheated and his ended up pregnant by her affair.
When we met love was the last thing we were looking for because we were both convinced that we would never meet anyone at our age (33 and 32) without children that wanted the same things out of life..."little white farm house, white board fence, yard full of kids and a tractor in the barn", but God had other plans for us. Our relationship is a very solid one, we want to raise our family up the old fashioned southern way and just be happy. We raise, train and compete reining and cutting horses and are currently pursuing a 130 acre farm on which to raise beef cattle, quarter horses and kids! My FH's father owns a large cattle farm and we are going to live in the adorable little farm house that is located there until we close on our farm.
Eric is my gift from God and I mean that with all my heart, he treats me like a queen and I of course take very good care of my cowboy!
The honeymoon is going to be a 10 day trip to Florida's Disney World (we're both huge kids at heart) in September. In July after the wedding we are going to take a short weekend trip to Gatlinburg, TN and spend some time in a gorgeous little cabin in the woods and just relax.
Wow...thats a lot of info, lol you guys asked! Thanks for the welcome, I've been reading the posts and can see that you are all very supportive, let me know if I can help anyone!
Thanks again!
