A bump on my foot

So, my foot was hurting yesterday and I lean down to rub it and find a bony little bump. It's on the left side of my left foot and it's pretty small. Maybe the size of the end of a writing pen? My first thought was a bone spur, but I thought that those were usually on joints. It's really hard so I seriously doubt that it's inflammation or fluid. Any ideas?

Does it hurt? Itch? Is it miscolored?

Maybe a cyst?

my friend had a really hard cyst on her foot and ended up having to get it removed...She calls it her "liposuction of the foot"

Sounds like a calcium deposit to me. They can really hurt. Just to be safe, go see the doc, though I bet they refer you to a podiatrist.

It could be something called a Plantars Wart. My sister had them and they were painful. She had to have them surgerically removed. They tend to grow and spread. I would check with a podiatrist.

Yeah, I'll make an appointment with a doctor as soon as I can work it into my schedule. I'll probably ask my chiropractor what he thinks when I go in on Tuesday. It hurts and you can't see it at all unless you look at my foot just right then you can see a tiny bump.

that happened to me before. it may be a cyst, or maybe you hit your foot and thought nothing of it. Mine went away though, but a cyst would be my wild guess, i'd still have the doc check it out though

I had something like this once and it just gradually went away. It was more on my heel though and it hurt quite so bad....I hope you get it looked at or it goes away so the pain stops!

Whoa! After reading Roz's suggestion about the calcium deposit, I did some Googling...and found out that my husband may have had one. It was this weird, tiny hard bump on his arm that was just below the skin. Thought it was a zit that wouldn't heal or pop. One day he finally got it to come out and it was this really hard white thing. Like a rock almost. We both thought it was so weird. Now it totally makes sense!

I have two bumps that look/feel like zits. One is on my chest, the other is on the back of my shoulder. Doesn't hurt though :dunno:
