Ugh! I'm planning to send invitations out in just over a month (shooting for 8 weeks since wedding is week of Christmas) and made the mistake of telling FH the planned date for mailing. He somehow got it in his head that it meant he didn't have to have addresses for me until then! I've been asking him to get his addresses together since May! His mom sent me all of the family ones and ones that she wanted, my mom and I both have our lists. He apparantly has a list of names and no addresses!!!! I told him he's got about a week to get them so I can get them to the person who will address them all. And he says he can't do it. WHAT!? He always gives me the excuse of "well I do work you know." Yeah, so do I and I've planned a whole wedding. He's a freaking professor and I know for a fact that he has downtime during the day that he can work on it. And he's got the whole weekend with no plans because I'll be working. I'm a nurse and when I have to make calls for the wedding I'm doing it on my lunch break! I got kinda grumpy and said "look, you've had 3 big things you needed to do - choose tuxes, reserve a place for RD, and get these addresses. I've had a gazillion others and this is the one thing I can't do for you." He got pouty for a while but finally said he would work on it. I'm really glad we were having this conversation on the phone because I might have thrown something at him! I also told him that whatever addresses he doesn't have to me by the time I get the invites to my calligrapher won't get mailed - not entirely true, but it made him mad enough to get it together! I just know I'm not addressing any - my handwriting sucks!
Advice ladies??? Mostly I just needed to vent. Sorry for the rant!

What You said to Your FH is exactly what i would have said too.

"Get the Addresses or they don't get an Invite".

Pure and simple.

Sometimes Men just need a short sharp shock to get their *** into gear. :winktongue:

I think what you did was great! I waited 8 months for a list for my FIL's! That was such a pain! Sometimes you just have to kick them in the rear to get them going! Know that it isn't just yours, most guys don't realize how much work we put into this! :panda:

Thanks. I was feeling pretty lousy last night when we got off the phone. But I think he'll get it done now.
