Freaking out!!!

I cannot find my engagment ring. I wore it to class on Tuesday night, then I took it off to eat because it gets in the way. It's too big, and we've been procrastinating on getting it smaller, so I really only wear it when I go somewhere that isn't an unload truck night at work. I even remember thinking "ok, I'm going to have a hard time finding this again." Stupid stupid stupid!! I've checked every surface where I could have possibly put it, and I can't find it. I'm near tears, and it doesn't help that FH is not getting up for work like he's supposed to right now. I'm frantically searching, trying not to cry, and trying to wake him up. Ugh.

I have visions of it falling into the bathroom sink or down the toilet... 'cause I removed the back of the toilet to fix it constantly running... but I know if the ring was there, I would have put it somewhere better. I haven't been able to make myself feel much better about the sink thing though, except to think that we'd hopefully see it before it went down.

I am surprised this hasn't happened sooner... I knew it would eventually because it's such a small thing for such a sometimes absent-minded person. Please send luck my way. I'll update when (if??) I find it.

Oh my gosh.. I hope you find it! It helps me to go through the last steps and retrace myself when I've lost something. The other thing to do is not think about it for a little while and it might come to you... and if you are Catholic, I believe there is a Saint that you can ask to pray for you to find something, but I don't recall which Saint.

Oh, I am so feeling for your right now. I did the same thing before I had mine resized. It eventually came to me when I stopped thinking about it for a bit. I'm sending happy finding thought your way!

For some reason it all leads back to the bathroom... I feel like I took it off in there, but it's nowhere to be found in that room. And it seems strange that it would go down any drain of any sort without me noticing, but I'm still extremely worried that it somehow did.

What really is not cool is that I have to go to bed very soon 'cause I work overnight tonight. Maybe if I can get FH into looking for it with me when he gets home, we can find it... though I'd rather find it before he gets here to spare myself the lecture on being more responsible. Oh yeah, and I did send him a message asking if he'd seen it, and he said he hasn't... so bah!

It so needs a ringer on it like a cell phone. That's how we always find our cell phones when we lose them...

My DH did this before the wedding and I never took it off again! I took it off to take a shower, before we got it sized, and he moved it and hid it so I would be more responsible about where I leave it! I do now!

OMG.. i remember when i gave my mom my ring to hang onto because i was swimming and didn't want to wear it... and she misplaced it.. i thought it was lost.. strangly.. i was tied between feeling bad and out of place and excited that may be i could get a new one.. (ok ok.. i know it's horrible..but my FH didin't exactly pick out the ring i would have...) howver, we found it..

He's not really "tricky" like that... at least not that I know of. I did think of it because I'd seen it suggested to other people on here before. I think if he had hidden it to freak me out, he would've told the truth when I asked if he'd seen it. At this point I'm actually hoping he did lie to me and has it hidden...

I found it!!!!!! After my million and second time looking in the bathroom, I went to the strangest place of all... there's an excercise bike down here, and I've got my wedding planner on the seat, along with some magazines because the bike is close to the chair I sit in, and it makes a nice little table, haha. Anyway... something told me to look under that stuff, and sure enough, there it was, under some of my magazines.

Never, ever again. From now on, it's on my finger, or only in the place I leave it about 95% of the time (my "nightstand" in the bedroom).

Ohh, I feel silly now, but I'm very happy I found it before going to bed.

As unattractive a prospect as it is check your trash cans, I've dropped earrings in my bathroom trash numerous times and they always manange to sink down to the very bottom of the basket. I'm sending good luck your way hoping you find it, I agree withthe other ladies though take a few minutes to retrace your steps and then just don't look for a little while. It might come to you where you layed it down.

Well, I was a little embarrassed to admit this, but I did actually check the trash because I added some things from the floor to it last night. I didn't think I would put it in there without realizing, but I had to check anyway. And then, of course, I washed my hands, haha.

Haha, FH just called me and said "Can you really not find your ring?" And I told him I found it, and he was happy... he said he was a little worried by my message. He's so cute, haha.

Glad you found your ring!!!! Do you have it insured in-case it's lost or stolen or breaks in the future? We have both my bands and his ring insured JUST IN CASE. :)

I feel "Naked" without My Ring.

I take it off to do the Garden or wash the dishes. I always put it on the window sill in the Kitchen. Many a time i've heard the Cat playing with it. One time i caught Him just as He was about to kick it into the sink. :bbeek:

I had to skip ahead - started reading this thread and got a giant knot in the pit of my stomach for you - so I had to skip ahead to find out whether you found it...and I'm overjoyed that you did.

I can't even imagine the full-fledged anxiety attack I would have if that happened. Keep that sucker on your finger!! :)

I too am extremely absent minded and loose things all the time:bbredface:. To keep from loosing my ring I went to the dollar store and bought a bunch of little jewelry box/ container things and I have them all over my house. Now when I need to take it off I deposit into one of the several around the house and when I need to find it I just have to check all my boxes :D
