I finally got the wedding programs done. I have been at it all morning today since about 6 a.m. I never would have thought this would be so hard and so time consuming. But thankfully it is over and done with now. At least this part. We have been trying every way possible to save on costs for our wedding. I also done the wedding invitations myself. That was no small task either. It took about 9 hours on a Saturday. For all you ladies out there looking to save on costs: I do not recommend taking on these tasks yourself!!!! It can be done, but I promise it is time consuming. HaHa. ;) If anyone would like some help or info on how to do this on their own, feel free to ask. I now feel almost professional. :D

I'm working on my programs today as well.
Did you find any useful websites? I'm having a hard time writing my thank you that i want to put in it.
Putting them all together is my biggest challenge. I made my own Invitations, RSVP's, Map Cards, menu's, name cards, and now programs. The funny thing is.... i want to start up my own invitation/stationary company now that i have graduated from Graphic Design. :)
I would love to see what you have done for yours :D

Why don't you ladies use your Bridesmaids for these tasks?
My biggest complaint from my BM's were that I didn't delegate enough tasks for them to help with.

I've heard that a bit too... i've only now started getting into things that i can pass off to other people. This Sunday i am going to my FMiL's with my MOH and one of my BM's and we are going to put as much of it all together as we can.

I used the same stationary as the invitations that i sent out. I put the "love quote" in middle of left inside page with our names below it and date and time. inside right page is the list of events in order, along with the names of various songs being played. on the back page i listed the wedding party and put the thank you note and the reception invite. They did turn out well if I do say so myself. Considering amateur at work here. Later I am going to pick up some ribbon that matchs and punch holes in side and make bows on them. Dress them up a little. But not overdo it. Honestly what made it so hard for me today is that i have been so sick and now my daughter got up with the same stomach bug this morning. so i have been trying to take care of her at same time. If I hadn't felt so rushed through this whole process it would be a lot more fun. I sure wish money grew on trees as they say. Would have been so much easier to have hired it done. But then again, i guess i wouldn't have had as much fun either. oh well....................

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! :w00t: Shawna made Lacey laugh! I can't get 2 of my bridesmaids to show up to my bachlorette party because we are having it at night in Pittsburgh. I know at least of my bridesmaids isn't going to show up to the reception because I won't let her kids come. And you expect them to help with things like programs and place cards? I have 6 girls, two are totally worthless, one is pregnant and really sick with it, my MOH has 4 kids, so that really leaves me with two girls and I can't ask them to do everything. I would if I could. But on Friday, I am having seniors put together my programs.

well after spending hours today doing the programs, guess what?? i thought as a sweet gesture towards my FH I would add his deceased mother to the wedding party as being there in spirit. she died when he was only 17. well i forgot she remarried and now have misspelled her last name on all the programs. and placed it right under the remarried husband and step mothers name. he loved the idea and doesn't want me to change it. in fact he even thought it quite comical at that. :p but i feel as if i should explain my mistake to the father (who is actually the step father). I didn't even add his real birth father, seeing as FH has only seen him about 5 times in his lifetime. so i guess i will leave them this way and just do some explaining. this is what i get for asking the evil brother in law her full name. oops!!
