So I posted on another thread that I was trying to make my own veil. I had seen beautiful veils at bridal shops that sell for $200-300 and was NOT prepared to spend that much. SO I bought a basic veil from Joanne fabrics (two-tiered, plain all except a very very thin ribbon on the edges, which I cut off). It was $16 but I had a 40% off coupon. THEN I bought three types of glass beads: some larger tear-shaped ones, and two sizes of regular shaped beads. In total I spent $18!!!!!!
So I took the edges which were straight and scalloped them by putting down a bowl on the edge and tracing its shape. Then, in between the scallops I put one of the teardrop-shaped beads.
Then on each scallop I traced a smaller curve three times to get scallops within each scallop (still with me?) then put the two types of beads on those edges.
I'll try to get better pictures tomorrow (when it's daylight out). I think it looks a lot prettier in person and I'm thrilled with it so far! Especially for $18 :-P
I can't figure out how to post the pictures in the post, so you'll have to check out the attachments!!
