When we started planning our wedding, we thought of a lot of ways to be "different", but a pajama wedding never crossed our minds. A lot of things have changed since then. My husband was diagnosed with cancer this past week, and we decided that we needed to move our wedding up ASAP. Long story short, after a week of treatment, he wasn't feeling up to dressing up for our wedding, so we decided that no matter how sick or tired he was, he could wear pajamas- so that became our theme. He's currently in the hospital for the next month or so, so we got married at the chapel here and our guests all wore pajamas with us. The kids were excited to have a pajama party at the hospital. As my niece put it "my pajamas are too pretty to only wear at home and show my family." She has a point with that. Although it wasn't the wedding of our dreams, we were able to share it with the people closest to us and see just how supporting they can all be. At first I wasn't so sure about the pajama idea, but then i realized it wasn't all about me. It was his day too, and I didn't want him to feel under dressed at his own wedding, so pajamas it was!! We've decided to still have our reception next October as planned and renew our vows then, but we're married now!!

I think that is an excellent idea. I would love to go to a pajama wedding; I always instantly change into them when I get home.
I wish the best of luck to you and your husband. :)

My thoughts and prayers are with you. My Rob was diagnosed a year ago in June. After intensive chemo and radiation, he is currently in follow-up care, and his biopsies have been negative since December. I hope an equally encouraging outcome for the two of you.

That's wonderful that you got married at the chapel. I couldn't agree more about PJ's being the most comfortable. As your niece put it "my pajamas are too pretty to only wear at home and show my family." That's too cute. My mom is a 13 year breast cancer survivor! My thoughts, prayers, and positive energy are sent to you and your new hubby! I wish you all the best!!
