Been trying to sort out an Engraved Wine Glass for the Lady who is giving Me away on My Wedding Day.

Bought it off eBay so everything is done via e-mail.

First off all i asked if the Seller would take a Postal Order because i don't own a Cheque Book and Paypal has Gremlins. He replied that He would.

He e-mailed Me again because He wanted to put "Thank You" on a line of it's own. I e-mailed back "Yes That Would Be Fine"

He then e-mailed Me a "Draft" of the Glass which to My horror had TWO spelling mistakes. He had spelt Mitch as "Mich" and put the date as 11 / 11 / 08. We get Married in the 10th Month. So here in the UK it should read 11 / 10 / 08. I e-mailed Him back to tell Him it was wrong.

Then when i checked eBay to find out where to send Payment. I noticed eBay didn't have His Full Address. Just the County. So i e-mailed Him asking for it.
He e-mailed back "Cheque Payable To Mr *. *****" << editied for obvious reasons. So He not only mentioned a Cheque that no one is England remotely owns. (Apart from Big Companies and Managing Directors, to which i am neither) But He never even answered My question. :bbeek:

I'm sitting thinking OMG OMG, I'm trusting this Guy with Engraving a Glass at short notice. If it's wrong, I'm stuffed. If He can't read a simple e-mail then how will i know it's going to be right until it arrives. And if it is wrong, will i have time to send it back?

Or better still, drive to Suffolk and smash it over His head

I hate when you have to put all your trust into someone who isn't a short drive away.....

For your sake Mitch, I hope he can read and it works out alright.

gosh.. you wonder how people make it through their days, when a simple task like copying text from an email is hard for them to do....:snide:

No, people don't read. :irked:

On the flip side, we have received orders without any shipping address or telephone number and once, not only had they NOT included their shipping address - when I went to send an email to ask for it, the email bounced  Nice of you to send me money but I don't know where to send your purchase or how to contact you.
