Disapointed

I'm disapointed right now. Back in February I went to a bridal show and I met a DJ that I feel in love with. I really was interested. I've told the story before about how Justin's friend's dad was in a band. Anyway to make a long story short they will not be playing at our wedding. I have been on Justin for a couple of months now to find out if they were going to play or not. He said he wanted them and then last night he finally told me how much it was going to cost and his said his friends dad is not even in the band anymore and he didn't care if I wanted to have the band or a DJ. If he didn't care that much why did he drag it out that long!!!!! Anyway so we called the DJ today that I wanted and they are already booked! :bbcry: I was pretty irritated at Justin because if he would have done what I asked him to do earlier then I could have booked them back in February! If the poor boy wasn't so sick right now I would probably vent my frustrations to him, but he is sick and I'm not going to say anything to him. I'm going to let him get his rest because he needs it. Okay today we made two more calls to two other DJ's. They are a little more pricey than the first one. Both of them would end up costing around $1000. My mom wants to make one more call and then we'll schedule a time to speak with them. As of right now they both have the date open.

I'm not planning on waiting much longer. My mom will make the other call tomorrow and then we'll schedule a meeting time tomorrow as well. I want to meet on Monday afternoon, but first I have to see if I have to take a final that is scheduled for Monday or not. I'll find this out tomorrow.

I don't know if this works for everything, but when you call, ask them if they will give a dicount if you do some advertising for them, i.e., if you do a program, list the company w a 'special thanks' on the back.

I was given the idea for doing indoor trees, haven't called yet, but I have now heard of several companies doing that sort of thing.

Surprisingly everyone we called was still available except for the cake lady that I REALLY wanted! Her cakes were very decent priced and they were gorgous... She is on vacation that week so we went with another baker who also does some amazing cakes.

I agree with Karen. Suprisenly this new DJ we booked I think I am going to like even better. They include a free wedding DVD that is set to background music. It is not of everything, but of snap shots from the ceremony and the reception that they take. They have an awesome planning website and even have a place for your guest to put in requests on-line.

I also had the same problem with my cake. I had my heart set on a baker, and she was on vactation as well. I ended up finding an even better baker, with better prices! I'm sure you will find something to suit you, Ally
