Yey for the dress!! And yey for almost being done with the invites!
Well, I ran out to a friend's house tonight and they took pictures of me in my dress. I am not putting the dress back on until the wedding day. PERIOD. It fits perfectly and I don't need it hemmed cuz I am wearing my blue sandals with the 2-inch heels (they'll be hidden but they are my something blue) and the only thing that it needs is a bustle which I can get done without putting it back on, hopefully. Geeez... I know it's just another dress but it feels like I'm carrying around a ton of prescious gold when I have it in my car with me!! I like it hidden in my office closet, safe and secure and clean and perfect. Hee Hee Hee
Anyway, my friend's place is small and I don't have the side piece on correctly so it looks like there is a bump there and there is some spillage around the top but I don't know why ~ must be my bad posture ~ but the dress fits wonderfully ~ not too tight, not too loose. Here I am, in the dress, standing awkwardly, of course...I should have made a fake bouquet so I had something to do with my hands! HA!

So pretty Kay!
I read somewhere that it is best if you do try the dress on when the bustle is being laid out so just a heads up - you may have to put on that gorgeous dress one more time before the wedding...lol

Very pretty dress! I like the flowers on it. That is very cool that you won it and got it and that it worked out so well.

It looks stunning on you!
Thanks for all the nice comments ladies! I tried to give everyone feedback/reputation but OneWed won't let me!! Thanks again tho ~ I am really ready to get married now. :D
Also, I had a wonderful evening tonight because two GREAT things happened...
1) My future in-laws took their invitation home last night, just because I was addressing them when they came over and my FMIL wanted her invitation... and she showed-up tonight and gave us our FIRST RSVP!!! AND.... they put a $50 Wal-Mart gift card in the RSVP!! YAY!! They are such wonderful, generous people.. I definitely got lucky in the in-law department.
2) I called my oldest sister (7 year gap, at least, I think) and asked her if she would be my wedding rehearsal and day-of coordinator ~ the person that bosses people around and tells them where to stand and when to go down the aisle and etc ~ she's really good at telling people what to do without hurting their feelings ~ seriously ~ well, my mom, the forever negative person, said my sister probably wouldn't even come to the wedding, let alone be willing to do something like that ~ My mom is/was/will always be a little looney and negative ~ my sister said YES and that she would LOVE to and she will be there to help me cuz I shouldn't have to worry about anything on my wedding day!!! YAY!! I know it is a small gesture but it meant a lot to me cuz my eldest sister and I haven't always gotten along wonderfully. And, now I have help on my wedding day!! YAY!!!

Congrats - how exciting about the first RSVP and a day of coordinator now with your sister helping!!!
Congrats!!!
Sounds you like have great in-laws.
Since today is July 1st I can now say I am getting married in "TWO" months!! Whoo Hoo!!! I can't believe how time is flying!!
And yes, I have wonderful future in-laws! :bun:
The invitations are DONE!!! :jphappy:
NEVER thought I'd say this.. but the fun quickly became a chore. Ugh. FH's mom has already taken a few to hand deliver (cuz she wanted them and I don't mind a bit) plus tonight and last night I gave some to friends that came over. We spent soooo much money on stamps and tonight I literally used our LAST stamp. I attempted to count all the invites in the boxes to go to the post office on Saturday (that's when I'm officially mailing them all) and the ones I am taking to work to hand deliver tomorrow and I ran through the guest list and here are the officials numbers I can come-up with so far....
# Invites Mailed ~ 167 Approximate # Invited ~ 450
YIKES! That's insane!! I know this is "bad" to say but I'm really hoping an even 150 (no more) show-up and we can have a nice, comfortable wedding and reception instead of blowing all our gift money from his parents on reception food for 250 people or something crazy like that. Ugh. Time will tell. In this town, it's more about getting an invite than attending ~ and one of FH's guy friends was telling me tonight that when he got married here 2 years ago, it was the same story ~ people constantly inviting themselves or asking for an invitation. So odd but oh well, I take it as flattery, not as a pain. Anyway, technically, the invitations shouldn't go out until July 15th but they are done, I am tired, and they are all getting mailed or handed-out between now and Saturday ~ I'm ready to sit back for a couple o' weeks and take a mini "wedding rest" ~ I'm beat!

Picture of the invites & RSVP, close-up ~ I'm very happy with how they all turned-out. We went with a 6X9 invite and a 5X7 RSVP. The back of the invite has a poem, our picture, and our wedsite address ~ all in color (pink).

Wow that is a crazy number of invites! I couldn't imagine mailing that many. I only mailed 15 of them and hand delivered the rest and it still cost me $22 to mail 15 invites - glad I didn't have to mail all 85.
I think that is why we do community showers here in my area - people understand you can't afford to have half the town there so this is their way of celebrating with you.
I hope you get you 150 number!!
Congrats on getting them done and out of the way!!

Invites look AWESOME! :) I know exactly what you mean by the something fun quickly becoming a chore. Time gets away so fast. I sent out about 93 invites and that was a challenge in itself. I really have to give you a *high five* for doing all of those yourself (and hand addressing them)! They turned out great!
YaY, for getting the finished and good luck with mailing them. I hope they all come back yes!
OMG! I sure hope not!! LOL We actually would like for about 100 to 150 MAX to say yes. If it gets past 200, there won't be chairs at the ceremony at the club will get packed and we'll have to rely on outside service for the reception. So, sadly, I will be happy when we get 100 and then the yes RSVPs stop. :bbeek:

I know what you mean about invites becoming a chore. We stayed up until 3:30 in the morning putting ours together, and we only had 50! Plus, some of the stuff was already printed and ready before we put them together that night.
That is a really big number of invites you're sending out. I can't imagine sending that many out! Depending on who it is you're inviting, you might have a big number coming... We had probably around 80% or a little higher say yes.... but then again, we only invited people like immediate families, aunts/uncles, grandparents, cousins and then the friends. So you might get more "no's" if it's people that you don't know very well.
A LOT of the invites were his mom's friends and his deceased father's family... people who PROBABLY won't show... and frankly, I'd be happy if they just sent a Congratulations card and that was all.
So, I posted this information in the "Budget Brides" section but I wanted to put it here, too... I am CONSIDERING going with paper bouquets. I have a hard time with this because I want REAL but we are REAL broke now so I may go ahead and do it. Soooo... I was at Big Lots today and they had the Martha Stewart bouquets that are currently $19.97 each at Wal-Mart (I know, I check this afternoon) ~ on sale at Big Lots for $2.00 EACH!! That's right, TWO BUCKAROOS PER BOUQUET!! So, I bought five white and one pink. They had three pink left when I left the store. Anyway, they are paper so I am debating this but this would be a $100++++ savings for me if I went with these instead of real flowers... so, we'll see. My sis (my MOH) loves them and so does my FMIL. We shall see. Sometimes cheap is okay, sometimes not. If I don't use them, I'm only out $12.
Here they are...

Ohhh Kay those are super pretty!!!
None of the stores around here have those from the Martha Stewart line. I know what you mean re real flowers. I knew all along regardless of anything else that the 3 bouquets would be real and there isn't much selection around here for fake flowers - not even Michaels - so our centerpieces ended up being real as well but pewmarkers and flower balls are all fake.
What an awesome deal!

Those are great. I would totally use them. I swear if you didn't tell me they were paper I wouldn't have known.
Well, thanks for the encouragement ladies! I really am leaning toward using them ~ it frankly depends on the budget in two months.... and the more I think about it, the more I want to use them. We shall see..
I doubt I posted this because it changed 1,000 times but basically, the rehearsal dinner went from a cookout at our house to a reserved room at a local restaurant to the Elks Lodge with a catering company to FINALLY... what FH's parents wanted and since they are paying... I'm TOTALLY okay with it... a dinner at the Country Club with one big long table for everyone. Works for me! Our rehearsal dinner is approximately 24 adults and 6 kids, possibly a few less ~ us, the bridal party, some of the spouses that can be there, my parents, his parents, the minister and his wife (family friends), the photographer and his wife (family friends), and my wedding coordinator a.k.a. my oldest sister and her husband. Anyway, I ordered these super-cute invites from VistaPrint and added some pink colored dots ~ confetti ~ to the inside of the envelopes... I LOVE THEM!! It was $4.99 for 20 invites! :pompom:
Here they are:

The poem says:
M popped the question
and Kay said "Yes"
All the planning is over
from the park to the dress.
Only one thing remains
for this day to be great
"Practice Makes Perfect"
September 18th is the date.
We'll practice the ceremony,
and iron out the kinds
then it's off to the club
for some dinner and drinks!
I like that it has his parents as the hosts at the bottom ~ very respectful, I thought.
The back of the invitation is in color, too ~ with directions and carpool info. We are only having to mail 11 or 12 of these so I think I'm going to get them in the mail Monday. Everything I found online said they should be sent out either before or with or immediately after the regular invites. So, off these do go... I am going to show them to my FMIL Monday. I REALLY hope she likes them since she and my FFIL are paying for the entire dinner!!

Those are great Kay!
I'm being cheap and not doing any rehearsal dinner invites. I'll just use word of mouth for those that I need.
How nice of your FIL's to have a meal at the Country Club. We're still doing the BBQ at my parents.

One of my aunts has graciously offered to do the cooking while we are at the rehearsal.
One of my aunts has graciously offered to do the cooking while we are at the rehearsal.
O! That's wonderful. I should get more people involved in all my "things to do" ~ it would/will make it easier. I think I'll make a mental note to start doing that.
So, it has been an incredibly long and busy day for me today. Since we are so close to the wedding now (2 months and 2 weeks exactly), I took advantage of the holiday weekend.
I finally finished ALL 150 wedding favors ~ silver boxes with pink, lavender, & silver bows and tags that say "Hugs and kisses from the New Mr. and Mrs." So, that's checked off my list.
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/Picture466.jpg
Then, I finished ALL 24 of the small candy bouquets. They are done, done done! Thank Goodness! These are small planters (formerly clay color) that I spray painted pink and then filled them lollipops. I then hot glued various ribbons around the outsides of them. We are expecting a large number of children at our wedding so I thought having a little candy bouquet or two on each table would be cute. They are small but at the end of the night, they can be taken home with the kiddos and/or enjoying by the kiddos during the reception.
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/222.jpg
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/333.jpg
I then took the time to completely rearrange my office ~ which is currently my wedding room. Geez, I sooo miss having an office. Anyway, I've done this rearranging thing before but tonight I labeled the boxes "park/ceremony" or "club/reception" or "rehearsal dinner" etc.. It's amazing how things are coming together. It feels good to get that room straightened-up and know exactly what all is done and what needs to be done. Right now, I feel like I've done everything I can do at this point ~ at least, when it comes to DIY stuff, that is.
So... I keep thinking about how I think more people than we want will probably RSVP yes and I don't want to have an ugly/lifeless reception. So, I want some TALL centerpieces ~ one BIG item to go on each table to sorta make the room "pop" since I am not doing many flowers and I am not hanging tulle anywhere and I am not hanging lights anywhere and basically, we need SOMETHING to show the room is "decorated" for a wedding reception, not just a country club meeting room. Bleck. FH & I are quite broke these days but he even agreed tonight that we probably need to spend maybe ~$200 and get something nice.
I have a couple of ideas that I think are affordable..
These with ostrich feathers. I haven't priced the feathers but I can get 12 of the REALLY tall frosted vases for $86 on E-bay. I would like to find SILVER feathers.
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/12for800nEbay.jpg
And I found these on E-bay tonight, too ~ they are $14.99 each plus $2 s/h each and she has SIX available from her wedding last month... which I think is a fairly good deal..
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/EBAY.jpg
And, I was organizing my wedding room tonight and remembered a tall vase FH got me that I am going to use at the park for a backdrop on a table we have to cover-up (long story)... and then I realized I have bags n' bags of these pink beads... so I was thinking of buying maybe 4 or 5 more of these tall vases (they are $10 at a thrift-type store here in town) and fill them with pink beads and have big, tall fake flowers (white) shooting out of them?? This could add-up rather quickly but I could just do 6 maybe ~ 1 every other table? http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/11.jpg
I have NO clue why but I keep thinking we'll end-up with about 12 tables. Anyway, I really want some centerpiece ideas and have drawn a blank all day and even E-bayed and Googled and found nothing. I need to start a new thread or start looking at others ideas. So far, I'm in love with the tall vases with ostrich feathers...

I like the feathers too and thank you for the links ~ the "seconds" would probably be fine with me and MUCH cheaper than the "firsts" (ha)
Anyway, whether or not we do these centerpieces will depend on:
*how many people RSVP
and
*how our budget is looking August 1st
~We are seriously in a cash crunch right now and I realized if I want to "really" do the feather thing.. it would be ~$90 for the vases (the tall ones I want), $45 for "seconds" or $95 for the "best" feathers, plus IF I want to put the battery-operated lights in the towers, it's another $30 for 10 light sets. So.. easily $200 more.. and EVERYTHING is expensive to me now... I still have to pay for a hotel room for 2 nights ($214), the remaining chairs ($120 more), my hair, my nails, parents gifts, some small snacks for the day-off for the bms to have in the hotel suite with me for a few hours before the ceremony, and I want want want... a little wedding purse/clutch, real flowers/bouquets (which I've decided I'm going back too ~ I don't really like the paper ), the programs (~$50), new/different shoes ($20 for the ones I want), etc........ I wonder if anyone else felt completely poor two months before the wedding!! Geez... and I thought we were doing great! ugh...:bbeek:

There are a few more 100 packs on there with different designs. I was going to go with the calla lily one until I found some on kijiji for a good price. A little more then ebay but it was from the same lines as my invites, etc.
Kay, what were you thinking about for programs?
Thanks for the links. I don't want to print them myself ~ just too much hassle for me these days. I was going to go through Vista Print but after the first 25, they get pricey. My local newspaper will do 100 programs for $50 plus tax ~ on linen paper, in any color, you choose the format and the words, etc... actually, you can put it on a jump drive and take it to them and they'll print them for you. I'll probably go with them ~ even though I really wanted some pictures on the programs. We'll see. I know that's one of those things I should do but for some reason, I'm putting it off. Maybe I'll search E-bay for someone that also prints them??? Thank you for the ideas.

You may also want to check kijiji or Craigslist? And see if you have any small wedding stores that offering just the printing.
Well, this week has been very trying ~ at work, at home, in general ~ NOT with FH and I but with some wedding-related items, etc.. I've been weepy for 3 days ~ I almost cried at work this afternoon. Stress, I think.
However... in GOOD news...
*2 people signed our Wedsite guestbook today!
*FH's cousin several states away emailed his mom wanting to know what we wanted from our registry!
*I saw TWO people in town today that told me they got their invitation and they were cute and they can't wait for the wedding!
*I went to the local home decor store where we are registered and asked them to change the display so our china/place setting is FRONT AND CENTER because we really, really want 16 place settings and it's only $40 for a place setting. They were HAPPY to do so and the lady that works there used to teach with FH's mom and her husband is a Judge I work with so we invited them and she was excited and said she had gotten her invitation, too! She said she would tell people we wanted place settings more than anything cuz sometimes people ask!
and finally...
*We got our first RSVPS today!! They were from two families we totally did not expect to get a reply from so quickly nor did we know if they would even come ~ both were YES!! One is a family of 5! FH is excited!
As the wedding gets closer I'm changing my mind about EVERYTHING. Does anyone else do this???? I am curious.
So, I have been considering not wearing the tiara FH got me ~ I know he spent $27 on it but still... I think it's "too much" and I like the idea of a more "natural" wedding.. and "TeacherSonja" no here had a picture of three simple yet beautiful jeweled hairpins she was wearing.. and I was thinking that is more the look I am going for ~ since my hair is sooo big and sooo long right now. FH has asked me to please, please wear my hair down and around my face ~ which kills me cuz I look soooo much better with my hair back and/or up! Oh well, for him, this one day... :)
Anyway, I also think I REALLY want real flowers so I am definitely scraping the paper flower bouquets. I don't know what I'll do with them ~ maybe sell them on E-bay or something? I paid $45 last night for 3 corsages (two moms, one grandma) and 3 bags of rose petals (big bags, real petals) to line the aisle with and to put in the flower girl's basket.

Yey for the first RSVPs! Its so exciting to know that people got the invites and they are coming! Wait until the rest start rolling in!!
As far changing your mind, yeah, I've been doing that too. I think there is so much out there as far as weddings go, that you could see something that somebody else did or get this idea and you want to do it now! I think its the second guessing aspect of things. Like my centerpieces, in the long run, who really cares what they look like, but I'm worried it may not be what I was thinking. My mom told me to stop it! LOL! :)
I sooo need to borrow your mom for a while!! I am going to attempt to "stop it" but I suppose it's normal to second-guess everything.
I'm at home today and FH is off today so we checked our mail ~ 3 more RSVPS ~ 2 yes and 1 no. The no was a surprise to me but not FH. I don't mind. I wonder why people don't list why they can't attend?? Odd, I think. Oh Well.

I too am second guessing everything and changing my mind. I say go with what your guts says so you don't regret it.
I hope you start feeling better - less stressed out and all!
Yeah none of my no RSVP's have given a reason - one from my cousin and his wife which threw me - I'd like to know why....but anyways....
I'm so glad you're getting compliments on the invitations. Having people compliment those made me feel great so I'm sure it did the same for you.
Don't you hate getting no responses? Party poopers....!
I only have one so far and I didn't expect it so it sorta threw me for a mini-loop ~ but, in general, I don't plan to take any of them personally ~ weddings are like giving-up part of your weekend from work so I sooooo get it if someone doesn't want to attend ~ plus our ceremony is 30 minutes out of town ~ away from the reception which is here in town. But... I'm sure there will be a few that surprise me ~ like the first one ~ but I'd rather get a NO than NO RSVP ~ now THAT bothers me!!

Well, I'm so glad someone else is in my boat! I am also going to go with my gut ~ the ONLY thing I'm second-guessing right now is the centerpieces ~ to have or not to have ~ and if it's a yes, what to use?? Money will probably make the decision in the end. And yes, I'm feeling better ~ I had a MAJOR four days of sooooo stressful stuff ~ I cried more than I have cried in years ~ FH was just here, holding me ~ it was all pretty-much wedding related. But, now that I've had my private wedding meltdown, and FH held me and supported me through it all, I feel like I can stand tall and calmly but nicely say "yes" and "no" and "THIS" is what "WE" want. I know this may sound bad but from here on out, unless I ask on this board (which I luv to do), other people's opinions are useless to me ~ I may smile and nod but in the end, it's what we want. Period.
And as for the RSVPS... it is odd when someone you think should be there gives no reason?? I only have one NO yet but again, not one I expected. I barely know her but I know her connection to the family and FH so I'm not personally offended or anything.
And lastly, I LOVE compliments on the invites! I've gotten lots of them so far and frankly, it makes me feel warm and happy all over!
O... we got 3 more YES RSVPs today!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I can't believe anyone would take the time to read all my junk ~ I've changed my mind about soooo much ~ I hope it's not all completely confusing to you!! HA I, too, am a "pink" bride ~ pink and lavender with silver accents! :)
And just so you know, when I was new, I would take hours and read everyone's old and new journals, beginning to end, it was FABULOUS! :o
4 more RSVPS in the mail today. All YES. I am shocked that most of my FMIL's friends are saying YES cuz I had considered them all to be NOs and that they would send gifts and that is all. I'm getting a little scared about the numbers but it'll be okay.... Right?! LOL :velo:
BTW, I think when I am completely done with this journal I am going to blurb.com and having it put in a little journal/book format, to keep forever, as a little keepsake for myself ~ and if we ever have a child, I will remember all the changes and craziness that went on! HA

Most of the people on our guest list that were potential NOs said YES. (And the list has 280 guests so I'm scared too. :) ) I'm sure it'll be ok, because some of the people on the YES list might say NO - so there'll be a balance.
I love your idea of saving the journal as a keepsake!

Yes! My photography is a present so I will post lots of pics of the big day on here!! :) And thanks, I like that color combo, too!

Yes, I agree with you. Many women (at work) are coming without the kids and families so that knocks off a lot of people straight away. I think we may end-up with more than we planned but I decided I am not going to stress about it ~ we invited them, we shall feed them! HA
RSVPs are rolling~in! I feel really good about the wedding numbers again ~ cuz I took the time to go through the entire invite list this weekend and added-up exactly who I thought would attend ~ plus some of my co-workers are coming together (without their husbands and kids) and the same goes for some of FH's female co-workers... so, it looks like my estimated number of actual attendees will be 165. I think we will stay under 200 and that is WONDERFUL. Talk about stress relief! Whew! I am soooo glad I did that!

That's good to hear....my RSVP deadline is Wednesday and I still have 36 RSVP's outstanding and only 65 out of 166 people coming....I was aiming for 150 and now we'll do well to get 100 when all is said and done....kinda depressing now that favors and everything are ordered - we'll have so many left overs..lol
Count it as a blessing ~ those who are attending will be pampered and they'll be double favors!! That, and the more the merrier is not always the case. Sometimes, a semi-small group of people who love you is THE BEST!!

Well, I am SOOOO not worried about the numbers. Seriously. If 150 shows, fine. If 100 shows, fine. We'll be okay ~ no matter what!!!
And, you are correct ~ TODAY is EXACTLY 2 months until we get married!! FH actually reminded me this morning!!! YAY!!! :jplove:
We are getting married 2 months from today!! FH reminded me this morning!!
Since we moved in together, I have felt like we are already married so the ceremony just couldn't happen fast enough for me.
On the RSVP front... we have gotten one completely BLANK RSVP ~ nothing on it. Luckily, I secretly numbered the back right corner of all the RSVPs in pencil ~ I looked down the invitation list and it was a judge I work with~ which cracked-up FH quite a bit.
We also got another odd RSVP ~ from the only "ex" we invited ~ one of my long-time friends, who was a boyfriend of mine for a while, and then switched back to the friends section ~ and the only reason we invited him was because he is dating FH's cousin so we had to invite her ~ we sent them a joint invitation since they are living together now. Lo and behold, she RSVPs back "?2?" and then writes a note saying "We may or may not be able to make it. He might be out of state and I have a niece due around that time." SERIOUSLY? How freaking odd. I just don't get people RSVPing when they don't know ~ she has an entire month before I need the RSVP back (August 15th). You'd think she would know something by then. I would prefer he not attend ~ and already told him that ~ since he is still a little "attached" to me (to put it nicely) and I'm sure she considers me a threat ~ even though I am not at all interested in him ~ but geez louise... I'm just trying to keep my RSVP numbers straight people!! So, those two RSVPs are not accounted for in my book, yet.
Other than that, the numbers are just numbers... I could CARE LESS if 50 or 150 show-up... either way, it will be perfectly fine.
My Future Sister-in-Law came in from D.C. this weekend and tried-on her bridesmaid dress. I remembered to take pictures. She is tiny (size 6) and super short (5'2") but here is the purty dress all 5 girls will be wearing...

That is very odd re the RSVP! I've gotten some weird ones too - mostly from guys not knowing how to fill them out - like one of FH's coworkers wrote his name, put 0 guest and will attend as he thought # of guests ment the number he was bringing with him....I also received 2 back that didn't check will or will not attend....like hello?
That was very smart of you with the secret numbering of them - I never would have thought of that.
I hope people send in their RSVPs for you - my deadline was last Wednesday and there are still 18 that I don't know about.....my mother says that it isn't proper to contact them and FH point blank told me he wasn't contacting any of them....so I think our numbers will be sticking with what we have.
OH MY GOSH! I didn't know it wasn't proper to contact them!! Ugh. I live in redneckville and soooo many people are not proper enough to send the RSVP! FH's mom has already suggested that I will be making A LOT of phone calls. Geez. Who knows WHAT I will do??!!! Sorry to hear you still have 18 floating. If I end-up with "only" 18 floaters, I'll be happy!
Soooooo..... I logged-on here just to share the GOOD NEWS!! FH's sister told me she was going to "spill the beans" and let me know that she and the other bridesmaids are planning a FULL DAY of Bachelorette Fun for me!!! YAY!!! FH & I will be travelling about 3 hours away ~ to a bigger, funner town ~ closer to the other bridesmaids and groomsmen ~ and I have no clue what the guys are doing but the girls are going to have a "SPA DAY" (with Pedicures too!) and then we are all meeting-up at a winery that I've always wanted to tour ~ we are going to tour the winery and then they are reserving a room for all of us to have dinner and drinks!!! YAY!!!!! The guys will be there for dinner and drinks, too ~ and of course, their celebration may last much longer in the night than ours ~ but at the end of the day, FH & I can meet-up at our hotel room and spend the evening and sleep-in the next day ~ it will be on Saturday, August 15th or August the 22nd. I'm sooooo excited!!! FH will have to take 2 days off work (he works weekends) but I won't have to cuz I have weekends off! This will be such a MUCHLY NEEDED GETAWAY for us!!! YAY!! I'm also really excited that my future sister-in-law said it was her idea to do the spa and winery ~ those two things are soooooo much more "ME" than a bar hopping evening!!! I am SUPER EXCITED for FH and ME!!! YAY!!!! :ura1:

wahoo for your geta-way and spa dayyy!! take piccies hehe ;) xxxx
Thanks for the Yay's! I am definitely going to take pics of the spa day ~ and I think I'll surprise the bms with t-shirts that weekend ~ t-shirts that say bridesmaid on them ~ a little something for them since they are doing stuff for me!
RSVPs are still rolling-in.. Saturday was the first day we didn't get at least one. :)
Well, we have some ~semi-major~ changes to the wedding (AGAIN)!! The girls are now renting short, totally-cute, fuschia (hot pink) dresses!! They are new at the bridal store, the same prices as the long pale pink dresses, and NOT see-through ~ I kept noticing on the girls that tried on the other dresses that they were all super, super thin dresses. Well, these dresses were on display and I fell in love with them and so did one of my bridesmaids. So, FH & I went and made ALL of our decisions today ~ for the second and LAST time!
Here is a picture of our bridal party ~ plus we'll have one more guy & girl on each side and that's not my exact dress. The girl's dresses have a fake belt in the middle with a sparkly silver/rhinestone buckle in the middle ~ so cute. FH wanted to wear a bow tie and all silver. I FORCED him to make the groomsmen wear fuschia long ties!! Hee Hee Those guys will live with pink for ONE day. Anyway, I am going to let them wear silver vests with the fuschia ties so they will all live. Regardless, I kinda like how FH & I are different than the others.
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/OurWedding.jpg
Also in keeping with the bridal party picture above and the new "bright" pink .. I've somehow easily solved my what-to-do about flowers dilemma! I'm going to order a wedding pakc of 100 hot pink and white roses from Sam's Club ~ online for only $74.26 ~ including shiping! This will be plenty enough roses to do 8 bouts, 5 bms bouquets, and my bouquet ~ plus have some leftover for the guest book tables. The reviews on the Sam's Club site are fabulous, too!

This is what I did! I wanted FH and I both to stand out from everyone. Instead of changing the vest colors on our groomsmen since I really liked all blue, I put FH in a white/ivory shirt and the groomsmen in black shirts. So....theres another idea if the guys really "cry" about the pink lol.
I love the dresses you have picked out also! It looks great!!

Your girls dresses sound like my girls dresses Kay with the belt and rhinestone. Is it from David's Bridal or who is the designer?
I hope you can find fuchsia ties and vests....we were unable to rent them with our tuxes so had to put the guys in black vests & ties, except for FH which I did manage to find a turquoise tie for.
Your new plans all sound lovely and I can't wait to see pics! Yay for making decisions!

I'll try to snap a picture tomorrow when I'm in the store ~ they have a dress on a model thingy in the store!! I'm soooo excited ~ I remember luving your dresses so maybe you were my subconscious inspiration to change to better dresses!!! :o
By the way, they have a fuschia tie that matches pretty-much right-on ~ they had the fabric squares of the ties there and she put it up to the dress and it was right-on. I was surprised. I'll get the name/model # tomorrow if I go in. I'm super excited about the change cuz I feel like our wedding is more modern and I know the girls already like the dresses better!!

That's awesome Kay - I'm excited for your changes too. It's great that they have the matching ties for you, neither of our tux shops here at either the turquoise or fuchsia. In a regular clothing store I found them in both colors and when I went back to buy the 3 of them they only had the turquoise left. I was rather disappointed but oh well.
MORE GOOD NEWS...
My sister called me tonight around 6pm and asked if anyone was throwing me a shower and I said no. So, she said she, my other sister, and my mom are going to throw me a shower!!! I'm so excited for you!!!! I know you were disappointed over no shower so now you get one! Yay!! Woohoo.....you are making so much progress this week!
I know! I told FH tonight that I'm actually excited for the wedding again!! :)
Well, it's almost August 1st so in less than a week I can say I'm getting married NEXT month!! SOOOO COOL!!! And, I've spent the majority of July in the wedding doldrums ~ basically, we mailed the invites and then we sat around counting RSVPs once a day but in general, I was feeling like the wedding was no fun anymore ~ it wasn't exciting like it was at first, I was getting a lot of guilt and slack from other people about how inconvenienced they are or guilt trips about how much money we are spending, etc.... frankly, if I could have, I would have talked FH into eloping last week. Things were ugly. :(
July is over now (sorta). So, I have a new attitude. I suppose the wedding is close enough now and there are enough things left to do that I can be excited again ~ and finding out in one week that I'm getting a Bachelorette Spa & Wine Day (sooo my thing) plus a Wedding Shower thrown by MY family (that I didn't think were very enthused for me) has completely changed my attitude! Today I wasted a majority of my day on WEDDING STUFF!! YAY!! I did our budget and to-do lists.... Basically, I'm EXCITED AGAIN!!!!
I also bought my wedding jewelry off E-bay! It was inexpensive Austrian Crystals and Rhinestones but I'm only going to wear them 4 or 5 hours.
The drop necklace with matching earrings...

The bracelet (with varying shades of pink I like)...
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/set3.jpg
I also think I've decided on a gift for FH. We like Zales alot so I noticed today they have some personalized cuff links at reasonable prices. I'm going to check in-store at Zales when I got out of town in 2 weeks but I may just order online. I don't know what to get FH but cuff link seem okay.
Here are the two sets I like that are in my price range:
These are $39
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/cufflinks39.jpg
These are $59 ~ I like them better but they are $20 more so we'll see..
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/cufflinks59.jpg
My FH is fairly traditional so I think he'd appreciate these. I wonder what everyone else got or is getting their FH?? Hmmmm
So, I also made an executive decision tonight about the reception ~ I think about 175 will show now (my earlier numbers were off for some reason) and our reception venue is fairly small and our bridal party has kids ~ lots o' kids, etc etc Anyway... we are going to do a SWEETHEART TABLE! I'm going to put a pink and white tablecloth with tulle and white lights around it, plus a strand of lights-in-hard-plastic that are pink that for some reason, I got in a Christmas light set years ago but would work fantastic for a little round table... I'll add a big bouquet of hot pink and white roses on the table, plus our toasting flutes and a bucket o' champagne, etc... I'm also going to look for a couple of white chair covers and sashes, etc. We may not do A LOT of decorating at our reception but the sweetheart table will look nice!
Here are some fairly~okay examples I found while lurking around the Internet but my vision is a little different...

Another sweetheart table example...

For the sweetheart table... I got lucky on E-bay and found TWO white banquet chair covers!! Total cost with shipping was only $11!! I'm going to order pink sashes for the backs of them, too!

I'm glad to hear that you are excited again! You've made a lot of progress this week with decisions which is also exciting!!! Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Those cufflinks are supercute and I agree - I like the 2nd ones best but can see your dilemma with the price issue.
FH & I haven't really discussed gifts and I don't think that we will be exchanging them....with paying for the majority of the wedding plus 2 tuxes (which we didn't plan on) there isn't a whole lot of extra cash floating around. I had ment to get him a set of golf cufflinks on ebay but since I use his account he would know and now it's likely too late to get them here in time. But we are now going away - paid for by us - so that can also be our gift.
The sweetheart table sounds lovely - I've never seen that done at an actual wedding before. I've heard people talk about it on OW but have never personally seen it done before.
Congrats on the chair covers & sashes - how awesome!
Thanks for the reply! I'm glad to hear someone else was considering cuff links. That is reassurance!
I have seen the sweetheart table online only but it is obviously fairly popular these days and it would definitely work for our situation ~ Plus I will reserve one, long big table and decorate "extra" ~ for the bridal party, their spouses, kids, photographer and his wife (bridesmaid's parents) and minister and his wife (best man's parents). That will be something nicer for them and yet they can have their children and loved one with them... probably a table of around 20, maybe 24 to 26 with our parents and my sister, the wedding coordinator.

Thank You All for the lovely comments!!! I have been super-busy and we are having Internet connection issues here at home so I haven't been on here in a bit! I just want to say I'm still excited and the RSVPs are still slowly rolling-in!!

I like the idea of silver vests with the pink ties. It'll look snazzy, :). I am glad you're getting a shower; those are quite fun. And I'm also glad you still have RSVPs coming in. It is quite exciting to get those, I think.

Well, I went to the tux shop and the lady there told me it would look "odd" to do that. She suggested all pink or all silver. I went with all silver. Of course, today FH & I saw a wedding on TV where the guys had on all pink and it looked fabulous ~ even he thought so! Soooo... I'll probably change the guys to fuschia vests and ties ~ and they will all live through it, despite the grumblings from them!

I think fuschia vests and ties will look great, what is it with men and pink!? just wear what I tell you to **** it!!! ooh...went a bit bridezilla for a minute there ;) lol x
Hi Ladies!! I haven't been around for like 10 days ~ which is like a year in wedding world!! Our Internet at home is "stolen" from my in-laws next door and lately we just haven't been able to get a good signal and I didn't want to "fight" for it ~ I'm sitting here now with the window open, in the heat, next to the window, with the computer tilted so~so, just so I can be on for a bit tonight. As soon as we get back from the honeymoon, we are getting our own DSL line and a home phone line.
Soooo... I have LOTS Of updates and I don't know where to start. Let's see.. as of today we have 40 days until we get married (Whoo Hoo!!), my sister, also the former Maid of Honor, cannot come in for the wedding (a long flight) because her husband is leaving for Iraq the day before the wedding now :bbcry:. I was really upset when I found this out but I understood. I made her the "honorary matron of honor" on our wedsite and will do the same in our programs. I asked one of the bridesmaids to be the matron of honor and asked a good friend to be a bridesmaid and they both readily agreed and stepped-up to the plate right away so that felt great! This Saturday is my Bachelorette Day which has changed some but I'm still very excited ~ all of the bms and I are meeting about 2 hours away from here, going to get manicures and pedicures, then going to lunch at one of my two favorite restaurants (I will let them surprise me) and then we are going back to one of the girl's houses for "adult frozen drinks" and girly movies (I want them to rent Bride Wars since I never got a chance to see it) and we are all having a grown-up girls-only slumber party!! We are all quite excited ~ especially me!! :D The entire day is free for me and I'm just excited to get away with the girls!
FH is having his Bachelor Party this weekend, too! All of his groomsman and he are going about 3 hours away to one of the other groomsman's house and they are going out to do who-knows-what and then crashing at his house. Fun and Mischievious Times, I'm sure.
Also, one of FH's good friends (or so he thought) can't be in the wedding now cuz he lives in Colorado and came-up with a lame excuse saying he can't come now (we know better). So, FH is hurt but he is going to ask someone else, he hasn't decided who yet. He just got the call from the former lame groomsman tonight. It makes me soooo mad for FH cuz I was SURE he would flake on FH and FH kept saying "No! He loves me! He does!" Well, he obviously does NOT. Makes me sad for FH. :worry:
Anyway, both FH & I have VERY stressful jobs right now... VERY. So, we are REALLY Looking forward to three weeks of FUN ~ starting in about a month!! We keep thinking about the trip to Italy and that balcony on the cruise and try to grin and bear it in the meantime.
As for RSVPs, they are still slowly trickling in. We are at exactly 100 guests and if it stays that way, I'd be happy. We'll probably end-up with around 125 to 150. 125 would be fine. 150 will be too many, in my opinion. Either way, we are fine.
I have a list of things to do yet ~ programs, pick-out vows, make the reserved seating cards, buy the vases for the centerpieces, etc... But, in general, we have bought soooo many things lately! I went out of town last week and hit Hobby Lobby and Michael's and spent over $200 on stuff. I got pink seaglass on sale to fill a bunch of vases with, then add water, then floating candles... that will be our reception centerpieces. I also got chair covers for our sweetheart table that are fabulous, my wedding jewelry came in and I LOVE it, etc etc etc..
I wish we were getting married next week!!!

That is quite the update!
I'm sorry about your sister and FH's "friend". The sister I can understand, the friend not so much.
Post pics of things you bought when you can!
Have fun Saturday! Sounds like a great day/night planned!
Hi Ladies! Since the wedding is getting closer I'm actually spending my evenings working on things like.. sending the list of "want" pictures to the photographer, picking-out vows, and etc... It seems like I never have time for OneWed anymore. :sob:
Well, tonight I am working on our programs ~I hope to take them to Kinko's tomorrow and have them print and cut them ~ I'm planning on a four-page set (cover page, ceremony, wedding party, & special thanks). I am going to hole-punch the tops and then tie them with ribbon. At least, that's the plan right now. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. I'm trying to get them cheaply but cute and half-way DIY. IF they turn-out badly I'm going to have our local paper make them ~ it's only around $50 or $60 for 100 with them.
Tomorrow is my "Bachelorette Day!" I'm really not for sure what to expect or what we are going to do at this point since it looks like there will be only four of us, possibly five. That's fine by me. I hope to have a nice time with my friends. I will take pictures and post them when I get back. I better get some sleep if I'm going to drive 2 hours tomorrow.

Enjoy your bachelorette day! How fun! :)
I was just catching up on your journal...you've got some great stuff planned! I don't know why, but I thought your wedding date was much further in the future - come to find out it's next month?!? I'm gonna have to pay more attention around here! :bbeek:
Looking forward to see everything come together as the big day grows nearer and nearer! :soppy:
I am ~ridiculously~ still wide awake. So, I went over our RSVPs and our guest list since technically, yesterday was the final deadline for RSVPS ~ but I also mailed two invites yesterday at FMIL's request! Yikes!
Anyway, assuming lots of peoples nos and going over the list... I think we only truly have about 47 RSVPS that are up in the air ~ and now that I wrote that, I'm a bit frazzled!! YIKES! I thought it was MUCH LESS than that! My FMIL has asked for a list of "her" people who didn't RSVP because she is going to call them all! Good for her! I better get that done now...
Thanks for the kind comments Gwen! I feel pretty good about most of the wedding right now. We've changed A LOT of our ideas over time but in the end, I think it's going to workout fairly nicely. :)
My Bachelorette Day/Party was Saturday!! Because we all live in separate towns, we all drove and met at one girl's house. There was only four of us but we had a good time! We went to a winery and did a wine tasting and sat and had a bottle of our favorite ~ that was SUPER fun and we loved the winery!! Then we went to dinner "Peckers" ~ which is a restaurant sorta like Applebee's but oddly named, to say the least! :bbmrgreen: Then we had some adult beverages at my friend's house and we watched Bride Wars and all fell asleep in our pajamas in the living room. They bought me some joke bride/groom shot glasses, a pair of "adult" dice that glow in the dark, and a little Bachelorette Game. It was a fun day!
At the winery..

Sounds like you guys had a ton of fun! I wish my girls would have thought of something like that!
I have my items...
Something Old ~ My Great Grandmother's handkerchief (the lady I am named after)
Something New ~ My jewelry (necklace, earrings & bracelet)
Something Borrowed ~ My new mother-in-law's mother's ring (which is pink and lavender!!)
Something Blue ~ My shoes
And... my new father-in-law bought me a sixpence to tape in my shoe!! :bbmrgreen:
We got our first check in the mail tonight with an RSVP ~ $100!! It will be in our savings account tomorrow!! :jphappy:
I have decided I definitely want a violinist at the wedding. So, for $150 a local expert (she's fabulous) is going to play at the rehearsal and coordinate everyone walking with the music and then show-up on the wedding day and play for 15/20 minutes while guests arrive, then as ushers are walking out the moms/grandmas, as the couples walk out, and then as I walk out.. and then some music as we are announced and leave!! We are at the end of the wedding expenses and $150 is a stretch to the budget but I just couldn't bring myself to do anything else. I hope it's worth it!
I haven't picked-out the music yet ~ I just know I want the couples to walk down to Canon in D.
My FMIL and I went over the RSVPs & the guest list tonight plus she called some people earlier today. I expect a MAXIMUM of 26 more people to actually RSVP with a yes. So, it looks like 140 will be our max head count ~ which makes me very, very happy ~ frankly, if ALL the remaining RSVPs are Nos, I will be happy. Overall, 140 will is a comfortable number to roam and mingle at the club and leave some breathing room all around ~ plus less people to feed! :bun: (ha)

Great choice! If your violinist is anything like our sax player it will be the hit of the wedding!!! :) Everyone just loved him! He even sold like 20 CD's at the wedding by people commenting on his music and asking him if he had a CD.....so even though he was $600 + a hotel room - I think it was some of the best $600 spent toward the wedding!
Make sure they know you want Canon in D....thats what I wanted and what I got to walk down to but it was just a CD version not him playing on the saxophone.

oh my goodness! yes u are! 17 days man...
Hi!!!! I just want to apologize for not logging on in FOREVER!! We have a HUGE Internet glitch here at home with our wireless NEVER working so on a Saturday, TODAY, right before my wedding shower (here at my house), the DSL guy showed-up and installed PURE BROADBAND!! It has been a long, exhausting day and a WONDERFUL day but I wanted to log-on really quick now that I am CONNECTED to the Internet again (forever dangit!) and say: I'M GETTING MARRIED TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY!!! YAY!!
I will post pictures of the wedding shower and update ya'll with the wedding information this weekend (thank goodness it is Labor Day Weekend!!) ~ but first, I must go see all the wedding photos of my NEWLY MARRIED ONEWED FRIENDSIES!!! YAY!!! :puppy:
Make sure they know you want Canon in D....thats what I wanted and what I got to walk down to but it was just a CD version not him playing on the saxophone.
Thanks for the advice!! She is a professional who is a member of an orchestra that travels all over the world, literally, and is going to be WELL worth her $150 ~ and she said Canon in D is her most requested music. She has been wonderful and I am going to email her the music selections this weekend. I am getting so excited and happy about this! I think the ceremony is going to be just beautiful.
I'm trying to think of what I've done for the wedding while my Internet was hating me and the only thing coming to my mind tonight is that I met with my cake lady and I'm getting a 5 tier cake, white pink dots, with two separators.. it will be 3 stacked layers, a separator, another layer, and then another separator, and then the top layer. The cake will be allllllllll strawberry! (YUM!) There will be white and hot-pink roses between the top two layers to hide the separators. She is going to deliver it early on the day of the wedding (8am!) and the country club said they would put the air conditioning down low and keep the cake nice and cool for us all day. Here is the inspiration cake pic I gave her:

Some more small updates...
*I've started tanning (not tooo much, just some)
*I've lost 7 pounds so my slip/skirt thingy isn't too tight now
*We have been given enough Wal-Mart gift certificates for my FH to already buy his prescious grill. He loves it! We are now saving all of our WMT gift certificates for a deep freeze. We are well on our way!!
*We have already received FOUR place settings of our brown/copper china (to go with our log home). It is Mikasa ~ here is a picture (that does not do it justice) http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/SedonaBrown.jpg
*We have our hotel in Rome booked! It is AWESOME!! It is a 19th century mansion turned hotel that is next to the Turkish Embassy! We are so excited!! Here is a picture: http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/ArtdecoHoneymoonHotel.jpg
*I made an awesome Wedding Weekend Agenda and emailed it to all the bridesmaids and people who needed to know (family, etc) from work on Friday (we were dead and I hate my job). I may post it on here. Anyway, we have decided to have a post-wedding-day brunch at 11am at a local restaurant for anyone who is in town for the wedding, family members, etc. It will be loads of fun and a good way to say goodbye and thank you to everyone after the wedding!!
In case you can't tell, WE ARE SUPER EXCITED ABOUT GETTING MARRIED!!!!

Kay,
Every time I read one of your posts, I can literally feel your excitement. You are so close now, and everything looks fantastic.
Hi! Wanted to post some wedding shower pictures from last weekend...
My big gift of the day ~ a wedding ring quilt my sister handmade! I luv it!
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/dddd.jpg
Diamond Ring cupcakes my mom made... cute, I thought!
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/diamondcupcakes.jpg
My Matron of Honor (she's such a doll) and laying in front of her is a plaque/sign she got me that we love ~ It says "I COOK WITH WINE" and underneath it, it says "Sometimes I even add it to the food. W.C. Fields" We registered for it at a local little store here and I had forgot about it. I luv it!
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/dd.jpg
Which reminds me, today we ran to the two local stores we registered at ~ we hadn't been in since the month we registered ~ and we had FLAT-OUT EMPTY SHELVES!! I couldn't believe it! One of the ladies wanted us to register for more stuff!! I was SOOO EXCITED to see many of my FAVORITE items gone, gone gone!!! YAY!!!! FH was cracking-up at me but I just couldn't believe all the items that were gone and the empty shelves on our registeries!!! I don't care if it sounds greedy, you only get married once and I'm soooooo excited!!! Whooo Hooo!!
I picked-up my second formal dress for our second formal night on the honeymoon~cruise! It is sooo cute on! I'll post formal cruise pictures when we get back. I found this dress at a thrift store for $5, untacked the straps so they are a little longer, and paid to have it cleaned ~ $10 and I've got an awesome Alfred Angelo dress!!
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/cruisedress.jpg
Which reminds me... I got one of my prized registery gifts from Wal-Mart from FH's cousin and his wife ~ they came in from California and visited with us and I fell in love with them! It is a sewing machine!! I know, I know, old fashioned... but I can make a mean apron! :puppy:
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/Picture067.jpg
And tonight... I put together the groomsmen's gifts~ FH got each of them a shot glass, engraved with their name along with a bottle of their favorite whiskey ~ about $25 to $30 per bottle. I put them in "papersack" gift bags and tied rafia around them tonight ~ much more "manly" than the pink and lavender ribbons I'm using on the girls! HA! There are 5 guys but I only got 4 in the pic...

Thanks Ladies!! I am SUPER excited ~ and exhausted ~ and broke ~ and I still have a million to-dos. Today was my last day of work as a single lady. When I go to work on Monday, I'll be married!! (I'm working 3 days between the wedding and the honeymoon)
Tomorrow, I am getting my hair highlighted, the roses I ordered through Sam's Club Bulk Wedding Floral should arrive so I will get those together and they should be open and good-to-go by Saturday, the programs will be ready so I have to hole-punch and ribbon tie them all together, plus my future sis-in-law is in town tonight (its nearly midnight here and we're all still awake) and tomorrow night, her boyfriend will be in town plus FH is having a bunch of guys over and my list of to-dos is HUGE HUGE HUGE!!
Anyway, my job has been very ugly and stressful lately but luckily, today it was fun ~ FH & I now have six china placesettings and we got some more cash and more Wal-Mart gift certificates today plus, last night my sister had me check our Wal-Mart registery (which I had not done) and she bought us a 12-bottle wine chiller/cooler ~ totally cool gift!! I also noted several other items had been purchased from that registry!! YAY!! Oddly enough, no one has purchased a thing from JCPenney's. Hmmm
Anyway, lots to do but I'm super, super excited. I bought a new, cute shirt for the rehearsal dinner, I've got new camera batteries and a new SD card. Basically, if I'm not taking pictures now, I promise to definitely post a gazillion pictures after the wedding ~ of everything!!! I will try to log on here every day and post new pictures and info but if I can't until after the wedding, WISH ME LUCK!!! :lafhard:

have a wonderful fantastic fabulous day!!!! cant wait to see pics xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi Ladies!! It's not even 6am yet and I'm wide awake! Today is the rehearsal day! Things have been sooo fun and sooo hectic here! We have been bombarded with gifts and friends stopping-by! I got my hair highlighted (almost too highlighted) yesterday and did my hair trial with the veil and the tiara and I loved it! I soooo wish I would have remembered my camera. Also, the hairstylist had some glitter hairspray and she sprayed it on and I luved it so I think I'm going with that tomorrow! I also bought a totally cute rehearsal dinner top tonight (I'll post pictures tonight!). My FMIL and FSIL and I put together all the programs last night ~ which turned out great! We also made super-neat rehearsal dinner menus which I really like. Basically, things are going smoothly and today is my last day to really get things done!! I probably should be sleeping but I generally feel like pretty-much everything is done and it's going to be easy and go smoothly!
The wedding, however, is outside but under a covered pavillion... and the forecast is for rain and occasional thunderstorms! I soooo hope it doesn't lightening!!
Thank you all for the well wishes. I am spending tomorrow night here in our home, alone, so I will come on and write about the rehearsal dinner and probably post some pictures and stuff. It seems like everything is zooming and I haven't had a chance to stop and realize what is happening ~ which is good cuz when I do, I get a little teary-eyed! :hearts:
The programs...

100 roses delivered to our door from Sam's Club Bulk Floral yesterday ~ we got 75 long-stem hot pink roses and 25 white roses. They look great. I'm going to make the bouquets tonight after the rehearsal dinner or possibly mid-day today if I have an hour or so. They look a bit red but they should calm down a bit by tomorrow and they pretty-much already match the girl's dresses! We got 100 of these roses, delivered to our door, for $75 online!

A silver picture frame we got from a groomsman last night. I put our picture in it and decided to use it at the guest book table at the reception..

Hi! I haven't had a chance to write a wedding day story or rehearsal story or upload any of those pics so I thought I'd just post my favorite pics and go on my honeymoon!! HA!! We are leaving for the airport this morning so I will return in a couple of weeks and when I'm back, I'll write a wedding story and post more professional pics. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR KIND COMMENTS!!
O! And the count from the ceremony was 133, not counting the wedding party and the count from the reception was about the same ~ we expected 125 and had a few more for just a bit and then it cleared-out fairly early and we ended-up with maybe 75 for the remainder of the evening. When I get back I'll post pics of the packed dance floor to the song I chose for the bridal party ~ Footloose!! HA
Here he is reading the marriage poem to me...

Absolutely beautiful! Everyone looked great! Can't wait to see more and some from the honeymoon! Ooh la la!
Hi Ladies!! Thank you all for the lovely comments!! I haven't been around since we got married ~ I've been soooo busy and now the holidays are here and I'm still super busy but I wanted to post a few more of my favorite wedding photos, some of the FABULOUS honeymoon photos ~ I am not kidding when I say we had THE BEST honeymoon I could have EVER dreamed of!! It was fabulous and FRANCE was my favorite country!! Anyway, I'm going to post just a few more photos and then I'm going to find the "sale" section and try to get rid of boxes and boxes of wedding stuff I no longer want!!!! For cheap!!! So, check it out if you get a chance ~ my office is just full of stuff I need to get out of there ASAP!!
The string trio ~ we received sooooo many compliments on them!
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/IMG_00772.jpg
The cake cutting ~ the cake was FABULOUS!! It was five tiers with white squigglies and real hot pink roses in the spacers ~ it was alllllll strawberry and soooo moist! I got lots and lots of compliments on the cake look AND taste!! Best money I ever spent on cake! HA
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/IMG_0239.jpg
This was a FREE lighted arch we got from one of his co-workers ~ and I dressed it up with some silver tulle and glittery "branches" I got at a Christmas store ~ we put it at the entryway into the dining area of the club so everyone had to walk through it ~ it was beautiful ~ many people had their pictures taken here! It was a wonderful gift and a great idea to use it inside! I believe it was only $40 and I would recommend everyone do this!!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
Glad to see you around again!
Just a few wedding money-savers...
*I ordered the hot pink and white long-stem roses ~ a mix of 100 of them ~ from Sam's Club online ~ for $80-some. They arrived Thursday and I cut the bottoms off an inch or so and put them in water and put them in the frig ~ the frig was FULL of them! On Friday night, after the rehearsal, I put all the girls bouquets and my bouquet and all the bouts for the men together BY MYSELF ~ it was SUPER easy and noone knew the difference!! We had TONS of flowers leftover so I had pink rose bouquets on the gift card table, at the guest book table, etc... GREAT GREAT money saver!!
*I also had enough hot pink roses to put them on the cake. I cut the stems really short and just laid them between the spacers on the cake ~ noone had a clue I did this myself ~ and my cake lady said usually the girls hire a florist to do it ~ it looked fabulous on my cake and I had NO experience doing this!!
Btw, I admit, I can be a cheapskate, but hey ~ we came back from the honeymoon with the wedding and the honeymoon PAID IN FULL!!! YAY!!
Us on the beach in Nice, France ~ I LOVED FRANCE!!
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/103_0028.jpg
This is either Genoa, Italy or Sardinia, Italy but I don't remember which one... both ports look a lot alike!

Barcelona, Spain ~ in front of LaGrada Familia ~ the famous church that Gaudi started building
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/103_0097.jpg
The Famous LaRambla Street in Barcelona Spain ~ soooo beautiful and such a feast for all your senses!! My camera broke the second day of the trip so I had to buy a new one so ignore the dates on some of the pictures ~ I just didn't know how to set it on my new camera at the time!
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj21/yakadij/103_0078.jpg
A grocery store in Italy ~ I had to take a picture because it looked so different

One of the formal nights on the ship! We loved our tablemates and the food was good, too ~ Royal Caribbean is not as good as Carnival in that department, however.

Nice, France ~ I love this picture ~I think, if it were clearer, I could win an amateur photography award ~ I don't know, maybe it is just me but we were walking down this side alley on our way to the flower market one morning and there was this old couple, holding hands along the way, just like we were, and I had to take a picture ~ and then their tops matched the walls ~ and I don't know but this picture brings back wonderful memories. :hearts:
