FH and I moved into an apt. last weekend. We still have some unpacking to do and I hope to get most of it done tonight. It will still take some time to get settled.

Now I'm starting to stress about the wedding. My FMIL called me last night and she stopped into one of the bakery's where she gets a lot of cakes and asked how soon you would need to talk to them about a wedding cake. They asked when the wedding is and she told them in May. They told her she needed to be in there 2 months ago!!!:bbeek: So now I'm stressing about getting the rest of the major stuff taken care of. I have been so busy with the moving that I haven't had time to do wedding stuff. So now I need to find a bakery and also need to get flowers figured out. I still need to get my dress!! I hope to get that either the 20th or 27th. I may take a day off work as well to go get it ordered. This weekend we are getting engagement photos taken so that will be one more thing off the list. I'm just stressing because people keep saying you have time yet but when you need to be booking a cake maker 10 months in advance...that's not good.

Dont stress you still have plenty of time. my wedding is around the same time as yours, May 16th, 2009 and I am just now going to the cake maker this Saturday to set all that up. Next on the list will be finding and reserving a caterer. I'm slowly accumumlating decorations, so far we've got the materials for the centerpieces and I'm gonna start buying up the little things like FG baskets, ring bearer pillow, garters, cake toppers, guest book etc.

Once again dont' stress you still have plenty of time to get things done, and if this bakery is too booked to handle you you can find another one.

oh, I don't have a dress yet either so theres another thing we're both draggin our feet on:grinhappy: Relax!!!!!

LOL. I know the dress I want and I am thinking of just going to the local bridal shop and have her order it. I haven't been able to try this style on in the stores because I haven't found anyone that carries it. The style I want is a square neckline with short sleeves. I tried on a strapless dress that has the same style of front and lower part the one I want has. So all you do is add in the top and I think it'll be perfect. So I think I should just order it and be done.

Thats me, I went in with my sister a few weeks ago for her final fitting and after she was done asked if she minded if I tried on a few styles so I could narrow it down and make the process less time consuming whenever I came back to buy, with my mom, attendants & FH mom. I figured we could make a day of it and all go to the bridal shop and then out to lunch....but If I know ahead of time exaclty the dress I want that will keep the time down considerably. anyway I found the one that I want and I'll just get it when I go back with all them in tow:)

I'm trying to do things at a leisurly pace but early enough so that the last month leading up to the wedding will be nothing but waiting for the day to come. Instead of running around like a chicken with my head cut off:grinhappy:

Me too. I thought/think I am doing good. The things that need picked out yet are cake, dress, BM dresses and tux's, also flowers. Otherwise I think the majors are done, everything else is minor.

I agree; once I get my dress I feel like the rest will just fall into place.
we are probably gonna get the tux's from Goody's (if they're still in business)
and whatever the FG mom gets them for their Easter dresses will work just fine.

BM dresses, will be whatever is comfortable to them in the color that I picked.
We will have the cake taken care of this weekend, decorations are accounted for just have to be assembled....hmmm. a friend of ours' Mom is doing the bouquets & boutineers & mom's and Grammas corsages...
I think thats about it!:grinhappy:

so once we pick a caterer & talk to our officiant....pay every thing up ....we'll be home free!:)

two months ago? I am getting married on May 17, 2009. I am getting my cake through the venue that we booked, but we aren't even meeting with the cake maker until about November or Decmeber.
