We have gotten the yard exactly the way we want it! There are a couple of bare spots but we have planted grass seed and it wont take long for those to grow in! I finally took some pics and just HAD to share! I have NEVER done anything like this before (never wanted to) and I am sooo proud of my work!

This is my little garden I made around the tree:

This is the big flower bed:

This is the little garden pond in the corner:

This is a close up of the cute little turtle bird feeder I have in the bird bath:

You can see in some of the pics the cobble stone walkway Brian worked his behind off on. He swears up and down he will NEVER do another one! I love it....I think it adds charm to the house!

Cindy, do you like turtles? I noticed your ticker is a turtle and there's one in your yard. I just wondered because in our family, we love them. My Mother raises them and not to eat, I might add. She sells them for pets and for shows. Not water turtles, but tortoises. She sends them all over the world. Anyway, love your yard! It's really big and perfect for your reception. Love your cobblestone path, your pond, and absolutely love the turtle bird feeder, of course. Great job!!

Thanks yall!
I like turtles and Brian likes frogs. We argued over what to get to put in the pond......a frog spitter that floats or a turtle spitter that would sit on the edge. Well you can see who won that one:

CIndy it all looks so nice. Tell Brian the the cobblestones were well worth all his hard work. They really look great. The pond and the bird feeder are too cute. I wish I could have one but here in Western PA we are advised against anything that could attract mosquitoes. Your hard work these past couple months paid off. You have a beautiful place for your wedding reception.

I will tell him Lacey. It did turn out really well, but it wasnt as easly as he thought it was going to be.
We wanted the yard to be pretty for our guests, but I think it would have been a lot cheaper to have rented something somewhere for the reception!

CHeaper yes, but you only would have had it for the night. Now you have your beautiful yard to enjoy all summer.

Thanks yall! It is nice to sit back and see how well our work turned out.
Shawna....thats actually our front yard. I will not embarrass myself by showing you the back yard! Its been the "catch all" for the time being! We did work on it a little yesterday but it needs a lot of work. Thats probably one of my 1st projects after the wedding.
Kacie....yeah and they have just taken off. When I planted them there was maybe 1 or 2 leaves on each but now I think theres at least 5 on each and lot of new ones coming up too.
Brian gripes about how much work the walkway was but I know hes proud of himself. Everyone that sees it, loves it and you know he eats that up!

Thanks Holly....I will tell him.
Im going to decorate the tables a little bit, but other than putting lights in the trees, the bushes and on the fence, Im probably not going to do much else there. Im thinking about decorating the gate leading into the yard, but havent decided for sure yet. Im trying to keep post-wedding clean up to a minimum.

I think lights in the trees and bushes will really set the ambiance for the wedding, Cindy. Also, you could decorate pots of flowers by wrapping them in foil paper with ribbon to match your color scheme. You could give like little individual flower pots as wedding favors. I think that would be so cute for outdoor weddings. Also, candles really say wedding to me. You can get inexpensive candles of all shapes and sizes at dollar stores. You could decorate them with ribbon, lace, or baby’s breath. You could group them together on a mirror and when they're lit, they would make an elegant centerpiece. Good luck and have fun with it!

My centerpieces are floating candles in ivy bowls. Im checking out the mirror thing. This is sorta what the tables are going to look like:

WOW! Cindy! It's just breath taking! How beautiful! One of the reasons I always wanted an outdoor wedding is because you don't have to decorate...Nature is beautiful in itself...I LOVE the idea with just the lights in the trees! I think that will be beautiful.

Sending NO RAIN wishes your way and no muddy/big puddle wishes your way too! I know I'm going to need them...grr...stupid weather!
