I was so tired this morning that I decided not to go to work. Of course my boss called me about a work-related question.

Hubby and I are going to get some bagels, a late breakfast you could say. Then, I'll probably just study and do some laundry and he'll play his games and work in the study.

So, do any of you ever play hookie?

I don't feel like working sometimes, but since I work from home with a pretty unscheduled schedule, I can pretty much take a break and come back to it later.

In the past I have called in to work (or didn't go to school as a kid) a few time when maybe I wasn't as sick as I made it out to be, but never just for the heck of it. And I never went any where cause I'd be too afraid I'd get caught.

Anyway; enjoy your day off! Hope you get some rest and some stuff done :)

I've only called into work twice in 5 years, and not because I didn't want to work. I would love to just not go to work one day because I hate both my jobs, but I only work about 30 hours a week anyway and we need money.

I have called in when I wasn't really sick, however there is a lady there at work who always tries to be over-motherly and want to call later in the day to see how you are doing. DRIVES ME NUTS, especially when I really am sick and need to sleep. Or on the last day of vacation she will call me at home to see how vacation was and to enjoy the last day as work will be here sooner than you think. UGH!

I have done it once or twice but only for important reasons'; like family being in town unexpected, or needing to do something for my mom, dad,Fh or other family. But I stayed the weekend with Fh and we got up and fixed brunch on Sunday; Scrambled eggs with cheese & ham & toast. And he told me this, "ya know whats gonna be hard when we do get us a place? I asked him what and he said "to get up everyday and have to go to work when I'd rather jsut stay home & spend the day with you:grinhappy:"
AWWWWW~

I've been thinking it's about time for a hooky day, but I was super-sick right before my wedding and honeymoon and used 3 sick days, so I probably won't play hooky just in case I actually get sick again. I was really sick in February and took 2 days off then, too. So knock on wood I haven't been sick OR played hooky in three months! :)

I know I'm always worried if I stay home when Im not sick then I'll get sick and have to use even more time (which means less money) b/c Im really sick!
so I just go on into work unless i'm sick or something really important comes up.

I have 36 sick hours (28 now), so I think I'm okay to take today off. :) I only have 26 vacation hours since I took a long vacation last month. Oh well, just can't take any days off for a while. I get 10 vacation hours/month, 8 sick hours/month, all major holidays off, and a week off in December, so I really can't complain. Great benefits in education.

I want to take a hookie day so bad. FH won't ever join me and I always feel guilty after the fact about wasting a day because the day always goes faster when you are at home then at work. I always think, "Gee, today went by fast, you should have been at work". Nontheless, I want to take one.

Ohhhh.. Bad kid!! Hehe

The only time i've really done that at this job is when my sis was graduating college with her associates and i forgot to ask for the day off. So i called right after the ceremony, then proceeded to go to Steak and Shake with the rest of the family. We are a classy bunch. XD

I wish I was just playing hooky today. I'm still recovering from the stomach flu that I had this weekend. I work a split shift on Mondays and Wednesdays but my supervisor (who is one of my really good friends) told me not to come back this afternoon.

I played hookie a couple weeks ago. Woke up feeling cruddy, so went back to sleep for awhile. Then, called in sick and it worked out well because I had a lot going on that day that needed to be done during work hours. I was kinda scared I'd see a co-worker while I was out running errands around my workplace!

This is my first real job, and I have vacation and sick time already accrued to use. I didn't feel bad doing it because nothing was going on that day, and I truly didn't feel all that great (allergies have been killing me lately). I better use the sick time because I don't think it can be used as vacation time or cashed in. I get sick a lot, but I can usually struggle through work pretty well.
