So Honeybuns and I went to Atlanta as a little getaway weekend. AMAZING! I might very well be in love. We went to the Georgia Aquarium and the CNN Center and then we went to see Carlos Mencia at the Fox Theater and we got to meet him! It was so awesome. Carlos called me baby and Ernie was bragging about it. Hilarious. I loved every minute of it. My favorite part was when he started making fun of the Civil War Reenactments. That's one thing that I just don't understand. Why do you want to relive a war that you lost?

Anyways, we stayed at a hotel in Atlanta (well Jonesboro), which was amazingly well priced for the fact we only had to drive 10 minutes out of downtown to get there. Very clean, not in a bad area of town at all.

Then today we went to Andersonville. Not an easy day. I had a lot of family that fought in the war and we actually found several of my ancestors that died at the camp there. Emotionally stressful. But we're back now. Great day.

Sounds like a great day! Although I have no idea who Carlos Mencia is, you and FH look thrilled to meet him, and it's a great photo, so thats awesome.
I took the time to google Andersonville, that must have been a really emotional experience. Did you know that your ancestors had died there when you went, or did you discover it by accident while you were there? Either way, it must have been hard.
Still, it sounds like you had an awesome time, thanks for sharing :D.

Coolio, you guys weren't too far from me :grinhappy:

I had no idea Carlos Mencia was in town; I like him ok, but I probably wouldn't have gone anyway. Cool, that you meet him though :frogg:

Your FH and my DH share the same name, but my DH spells it different ;)

I knew that some of my family had fought in the Civil War, but not that they were actually in Andersonville. They have computers that have a database of all the graves in the cemetery.

I was excited, I had seen some of his stuff, but wasn't the fan that FH is. Then we went. Hilarious. He ended up going almost an hour and 45 minutes over what he was supposed to. I honestly think he might be my new favorite comedian. Apparently Ernie had only heard two of his jokes before too. And he watches the new stuff on youtube all the time. I'm quite impressed by that.

I'm sure I've read it before but what part of Georgia are you guys from?

I'm sure I've read it before but what part of Georgia are you guys from?We are South of Atlanta in the Henry/Clayton County area. You mentioned staying in a hotel in Jonesboro; that isn't too far from us :)

Awesome. I'm still getting used to all this heat. Ohio is typically this hot only 2-3 weeks at the most and this summer has been especially mild. I swear, I step outside and immediately start sweating. I'm going to have to carry deodorant in my pocket.

Its very humid down here, we get humid everything, humid summer, humid winter so if it 80% outside it will feel like 90-95%, and if its 30% it will feel like its 20%. I juss dunno y, but I still love it here!

I live in Atlanta, near Vinings, a very nice city. I hate the humidity in Georgia. My hair has gotten so oily from living here. It's like being in a swamp in the summer. I want to move up north! :)

Lord don't I know. It's kind of like playing Wheel of Fortune with my hair down here. I'm never quite sure what it will do.
