I love this form! and it's only been a few days :) But, I thought I would give this journal things a try!
Bride:Heather, 21, never been married
Groom: Joshua, 31, married once before but no children
Been together: Three years
How We Met:
Our story isn't romantic at all lol. Joshua and I met a work. We were both working at a steakhouse and he was my boss. I had only been working there for about two days. On the 2nd day of work which was On St. Patrick's day my roommate and I wanted to go out and have a feel drinks. So, we picked the local Irish pub. After a few hours and people stated clearing out. I spotted Josh across the room and I asked my roommate if that was our boss from work? she told me that it looked like it. I kept looking at him and finally he got up and walked over to us. He said "do I know you?" I said"uhhh yeah we work together." So, that turned into hours of convo. I stopped working there acouple of days later so we could date. We had a very rocking start.
The Proposal:
Josh asked me to marry him on Christmas Eve 2007. He invited my parents over for dinner. I was in my Pj's. And he wouldn't not stop asking me if I wanted to go change. I told him not it's just my parents. So, my parents came and they were all dressed up. My mother then asked me" don't you think you want to change your clothes?" Again I said"no, I'm fine." Josh and my mother are in the kitchen fixing dinner while I was watching tv with my dad. Josh calls me "hey hunny come here" and I said"what, why?..." He said "come here I have something for you..." I still didn't get up and I said "what is it?" I stood up and walked towards the kitchen. He then met me have way in the the middle of the living room and got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I freaked. I stated crying and screaming "is this a joke?" I started scream crying "yes!, yes! are you serious, this isn't some kinda sick joke?"
My mom was so cute she bought me two bridal magazines and said congrats and she wrote me a little note in both of them.
I feel so bad for being a brat about the whole thing. I was upset because we couldn't aford gifts that year because we had just moved into our new townhouse.
The Plans So Far:
So far, we have decided on October 31, 2008. To stick with the whole holiday theme of everything. Samhain is my fav. day of the year :) We both enjoy fall more than any other time of the year. The funny thing is when I went to call my dad and step mother to tell them when we were in engaged.
She asked me..."let me guess your getting married on Oct. 31?" I was like "Yes, I am! you know me too well." She responded with "please Heather don't deck it out with Nightmare Before Christmas stuff lol." I told her that I was only planning on having a few things. Like the cake topper, programs, etc. Nothing over the top.
So, we are having a pagan handfasting.
and a Maquerade Ball
alll of these is being done on a very small budget
