Hi,

My name is Susanne and I'm new here and I'm getting married spring 2009 with my Bill :)

I have a problem though and I hope someone can help me with some advice! please..

We live in Thailand but are considering going "back home" to Colorado for our wedding. My 2 sisters and Bills brother still lives in Colorado and of couse we want them to be part of our wedding. We could afford to fly Bills brother and my sisters and their families over here but I don't know. I've always dreamed of marrying in my home town!
Also, my mother is living with us here but she is ill and I don't know if she can take a flight back to the US.

So, should we fly our families over here or should we wait and see if mom gets better and becomes capable of flying to Colorado?
If the latter we will have to postpone our wedding because we can't start planning if we don't know where we're getting married..

Thanks for any input!

Susanne

It really depends on what is more important to you: getting married in Colorado or getting married sooner. You could always have a wedding in one place and a second reception in the other.

First, congrats on your engagement! And welcome to OW!

I think your heart will dictate which priorities are the most important to you. I'm getting married in Vegas (have always wanted to) but if my mom couldn't travel I would probably choose to do it where she was. But that's just me!

I think you could do something special in BOTH places. I think you'd regret it if you didn't at least do some sort of reception or something in Colorado. :)

Hope it works out!!
:) Gwen

Of course! Why didn't I think of that! Thank you :D
We could have a wedding on the beach in front of our new home in Thailand AND later a reception in Colorado with all the family!

Thank you!

Susanne

YUp. Its depend on you and your partner. Just slow talk and discuss with your whole family. What is the good choice. Its more better than you just keep silent right?
