we chose may 21st as the date for our wedding. after many times of rescheduling it. actually four times of rescheduling it to be able to get everyone we wanted to attend it a compatable date. so we ended up with this one. will be having the rehearsals somewhat early however. since the pastor is going to be out of town on her vacation until the night before the wedding. that was a bummer. so rehearsal is scheduled for this weekend. i only hope and pray that my fh two young children will be able to remember what to do since it is scheduled so early. pray with me. haha.

we have decided since this is not either of our first weddings that we wanted a simple elegant ceremony. we are being married in the methodist church that fh has attended for many years and to which i have just recently became a member of as well. we are being married in the sanctuary with the reception to be held there in the fellowship hall. the church is absolutely beautiful with all the stained glass windows. we also decided not to spend a lot of money for the wedding. so the color scheme is this: springtime. that way their really is not particular color scheme. i am wearing a new royal blue dress which i have had for two years hanging in my closet with the tags still on it. I have had no place to wear it thus far. But thankfully it is still in style. my fh is wearing tan dockers, shirt and tie. my father the same. fh's two children are going to wear the easter outfits we bought them of pink for his daughter and the same color blue as my dress for is young son. my daughter is also in the wedding and am not sure what exactly her color will be. We still have to go shopping for her dress. i have ordered the cake and made arrangements for all of this. but i still have very much more work to do. i just mailed out the invitations over the weekend to twenty close family and friends. I made them myself over the computer to save us some extra money. they actually turned out really nice. i however did not realize that it would take me 9 hours to complete them. we have chosen most of the songs for the wedding. we both love celtic music and listen to it each and every night while falling asleep. so we have decided to be somewhat untraditional and play "celtic woman" throughout the ceremony. except for of course playing the wedding march. i still have to burn the cd with all the songs to include the march in it. will have to do this over the weekend. my daughter is being my MOH and FH's daughter who is 8 is the flower girl and his son who is 6 is the ring bearer. My daugther is 16. we are going to have the girls light the unity candles joining our two families after they have proceeded down the aisle. during the ceremony itself when we reach the unity part of the service (methodist) my FH and I will light the unity candle together to become one family joined together. my father is walking me down the aisle. after the ceremony we will proceed to the fellowship hall for the reception. where we will cut the cake and toast with champagne. at that time we will have our very first dance (which music we have not decided on yet) and will make our personal vows or promise to each other. i am extremely excited about the whole wedding. while it is stressing me some i still am enjoying getting to plan it. i am going to try my hand at making my own bouquet and smaller one for daughter as well as the corsages and boutienerre's (misspelled). i have searched the internet and found several ways in which to make hand tied bouquets. i am also going to make the arrangements for the altar and reception tables. I might possibly be biting off more than i can chew. But the process is fun. We do not want a stuffy affair, we want everyone to be relaxed and enjoy themselves. i was unfamiliar with methodists wedding vows and was concerned at first about them. but after reading them and realizing the entire guests would also be partaking in the actual wedding itself i fell in love with the ceremony.

so this is my details thus far. Spring wedding, small, elegant (hopefully) and relaxing.
