when to take engagement pics?

I'm getting married in May 2010 & am wondering when I should get our engagement pictures taken. FI & I would like to have them done in the fall becuase we both LOVE the fall season & think it would make our pictures even more beautiful.

I just don't know if we should take them this fall or wait until the fall of 2009. The only thing is I would like to lose some weight before the wedding & grow my hair out a bit. But is it too soon before the wedding to wait until Fall 2009? If we do it this fall, we are thinking more towards the end of October or November.

When do you think the best time would be?

We're getting married in October (next month) and we took our engagement photos in July (3 months before)....it just depends on what you plan on using them for.

We've been engaged 6 months and are still sans photos. Fall is really pretty here in the NE so I'd like to have some nice pics of us taken then ("engagement" photos or not) to send people.

There's no set time to take them, so it's completely up to you. Some people take them when they first get engaged, some people take them a month (or even a week) before the wedding.

We're having ours taken this Sunday, and our wedding is next May. (We've been engaged since last December.)

It's up to you completely. We got engaged February, took ours in August and are getting married in June. Our photographer pointed out that if we waited until spring we'd look pretty much the same in our engagement pics as the wedding ones, so we opted to go earlier to have more time for hair to grow, to lose weight, whatever before the wedding. But, there aren't any rules, so don't stress about it :)

Thanks for all the advice! I feel alot better about it. :) I think I'll wait until next Fall then. That way I won't be so worried about all of my insecurities.
