So on Sunday we were heading out to my mom's house and it was very windy. I was getting in the car (our Pathfinder), put my purse in on the seat, stood up straight and WHAM! the wind blew the door shut - onto my head. The top corner of the door slammed into my head right behind my ear...

Needless to say, I got a little bit of a bloody nose that hasn't completely gone away (still a little blood here and there - though not positive it's related), and quite a bit of a headache that has been off and on. I wear sunglasses when I'm outside, and reading glasses when I'm at the computer. Unfortunately, the bruise is right where my glasses sit. So I'm sittin here workin and my head is pounding. :urgh:

That's not good...I hope it gets better soon, or else you get that checked out!

Have to taken something for the swelling and pain?

I'm so sorry that happened, I don't like the wind, it makes me feel anxious and like Mother Nature is ticked off! I really think you should get checked out though - any head injury is nothing to fool around with, especially getting whacked by a heavy piece of steel. I hope you feel better real soon though.

please get checked to see if you have a concussion. I had one and they are not fun. it messed up my short term memory for several weeks.

I haven't had any dizzy spells or memory loss issues. It sure sucks to brush my hair in the mornings though.. and wearing my glasses all day long. I think that's what keeps it hurting - the glasses.

I have a follow up appointment with my dr. next week, so I'll have her take a look at it. It's just frustrating though - cuz I live in glasses (sunglasses, reading glasses, and I'm always in front of a computer screen or out in the sun LOL).

Rev'Matty's mom sounds like mine...except she says, " Oh, you hit your head. You'll be okay...now if you'd hit your big toe?:snide:" lol as if to say my brain is in my toe:grinhappy:

Try hitting your head on the roll up door of your 13 ton Freightliner. I still don't have the sense to make sure it's all the way up, when loading or unloading.

I hope you will be fine. As long you not have internal injury, i think you will be fine. Just go and do some medical checkup. Who know something will happen right?

Don't say that!!! You'll jinx yourself! That same thing happened to me over the course of a year...on average about 2 times a month. Not nearly as bad as yours, but enough to say..I'll never do that again...and look at what happened!!

Anyways, I hope your feeling better!!
