Since I didn't get Matt anything for our wedding day, I thought I would make it up to him and get him a really great one year anniversary gift! The problem is, that I have no clue what in the world to get the man. I want to order it over the net as my town has cr@p selection for stores to buy things from. Here we are, we've been together for three years and I still can't come up with a good gift. (D'oh) I was going to order him a sweat shirt from "Hart & Huntingtons" tattoo shop in Las Vegas but the hoodie I want they won't ship to Canada! (B@stards! lol) He is currently training to be a helicopter pilot but finding something cool there is horriably hard! Help me!! lol I need some suggestions. I know its supposed to be just paper for anniversary # 1 and I've got that covered but I want to do more because I am pretty sure he is going to get me something great! Anyone got any ideas???

You could have the hoodie shipped to someone in the states and they could ship it to you! (little extra work, but if you really think he would like it!)

I have a problem there as I have no one to ship it to in the states in the first place. I was thinking that as well but that would be more work then I would like to make for myself or anyone else for that matter. :)

He used to like Formula 1 but that isn't any more since I came onto the scene. I think he's watched it twice in the three years we've been together...wait its two and a half years...lol.

He loves anythign to do with helicopters but I can't find ANYTHING cool to do with helicopters on the net!

I am at a loss!! I really am! I think I'm just going to have to get him a hoodie from Hawaii though it's not as cool as the one from Vegas...lol...Oh well!! :)

yeah that was why i was thinking about the hoodie. I had one and mice chewed it up in our old house. so he went online and ordered me a new one, which was really sweet of him because I was pretty upset! (**** mice!! lol) He loves tattoos (though he only has one and can't get a second until I get my first touched up...its a deal we made! :) ) and I thought I'd get him one of those hoodies because they are really cool, but alas. They have two stores with different items in them, one sells the hoodies I want the other sells one that isn't bad but not my favorite. I just wish I could come up with that one AMAZING gift ya know? well I think I will look and see what I can find on the website for the hoodie from Hawaii...maybe there will be one that I really like! And if it comes down to it, I could save it for some other special occasion and give him something else if I find something I like better kind of thing.

My paper item is going to be the song I walked up the aisle printed on paper, customized by me and framed! I thought it would be nice since we both absoluetly love that song!

As for the whole 'proper' anniversary gifts, I say :p on that stuff, who cares IMO.

I wanted to get my DH a really nice gift for our anniversary but we decided to get a dog instead ;) Now the dog loves me and not so much him and that makes me feel bad but it has only been a little over a month so hopefully the dog will grow to like him too.

Anyway, (I wish my honey would get a tattoo, I love tattoos and want many more and I think they are kind of hot on guys too) if you can't work around the shipping thing for what you really want then I guess you are SOL on that one *wink* But I am sure your DH will love whatever you do for him.

One year for our 'dating' anniversary I got my DH a key chain and money clip set with his initials engraved on one side and "I Love You Baby" on the other. He had the key chain for a long time until it finally broke. (I found it in his file cabinet not too long ago in a file he keeps cards and such in ) he still has the money clip.

I always have a hard time getting things for my honey because he isn't much into anything but tools and music and he if there is something he wants he will just buy it.

Like this past Christmas I wanted to get him the Sirius Satellite Radio he had been wanting, he bought it himself in November :bbconfused: So I just got him an outfit and a CD he had wanted [i](I had to go get it the day it came out and told him I got it so he wouldn't get it himself!)[i] He use to be into F1 racing too, but hasn't been much into it since they changed the rules or something.

Anyway, I don't know if I have been helpful, sorry. Good luck!

Yeah thats pretty well how Matt is. If he wants something he will just go out and buy it. And now that I've ordered something I just had a brain wave! D'oh! your satelite radio had me thinking! We both want one, but haven;t gotten them because we haven't had the money! Now that we do, I forget and order something online! Good thinking Shawna!! lol Oh well. I might get him both, though recently he's been saying that a satelite radio in his truck is pointless and he woudl rather get me one! After all I am the one who listens to everythign under the sun and he usually only listens to country! IT would be kinda a waste for him but not really for me! There are 2 radio stations in this town adn they both SUCK!! lol. Country and a mix one, the announcers are so boring so most days I listen to my fave station on the computer all day long and don't get anyting done!~ lol

Shawna.....what about a game? Like a savenger hunt type thing. He gets a note delivered to him that gives him a clue and an item to pick up to get the next clue. When he gets to the end, he finds you (his REAL gift) and has the night of his life. What makes this sooo neat is if you arent really the type of person to do something like this. (there are lots of variations to this)
*Plus....planning this will help you get your mind of the "other" things going on right now and that night could be "the night"!
I just love these things! Ive never done it, wouldnt even know where to start, BUT I will do it to Brian one of these days! Hed never expect it so it ould blow his mind!!!

Yeah.....that would be neat. If I were to hold my breathe waiting on Brian........well lets just say I know better than to do that!

LOL, yeah I hear ya ;)

I hate it when DH asks me what I want. He has known me long enough to know what I like and how to surprise me.

He has his moments though, like last night he brought me flowers for no reason. He knows not to get me flowers for birthdays and anniversaries and such (I think it is not a thoughtful gift, more like the easy way out) but it is really nice when it is just because

I really like that idea Cindy! I'll have to put some thought into it and see if there is anything I can figure out! Hmmmm....lol. Thanks Girl!

Even if he came home from school on Friday (our anniversary is on Sunday...but oh well) and there was something waitng for him at the door, then he has to do as each clue tells him and then eventually he will get upstairs to a romantic bath, with rose petals and me!! lol...I'm really going to see how this could pan out!! :)

No problem......you could hide certain "things" around the house and have him bring all of those upstairs! And I love the whole following a trail of rose petals thing!

But hey.....you can have it planned to perfection! You even have time to toy around with the different ideas and find the perfect one, but I really do love the romantic bath thing!
You could start teasing him a little by telling him every other week or so that you have this wonderful surprise planned for him for your anniversary!

You bet! Then that way I might actually be able to keep a secret! Watch knowing my luck, he'll come home that day early or late or even sick or somethign! lol :bbeek:

Mmm. I Just had a great thought! Chocolate covered strawberries and champagne like we had on the morning after the wedding. (I was too sick the night of the wedding! Chills and fever...boo! lol)

I think I am going to start writing this all down! !lol

thats a really good idea!!

I am looking for a massage bar from Lush right now. I have to order it pretty quick here because if it gets much hotter here it will melt in the mail...lol.

Soft Coeur (the honeymooner)
http://images.northamerica.lush.com/zoom/2132.jpg This massage bar is not for people who have to wash their hands as soon as they get sticky; it's for people who love a bit of messiness in their lives. The heart shaped, shea and cocoa butter bar is filled with a gooey blend of honey and cocoa powder which melts all over your body. If at this point you are wondering why bother, please ignore this, you'll hate it. If you are thinking, Mmmm, chocolate and honey all over! then this is for you. Don't use it on the best Egyptian cotton sheets without slinging a beach towel or similar over them first. It's good for your skin, it's excellent fun, but by golly it's wickedly sticky.

Its a pleasure treasure
http://images.northamerica.lush.com/zoom/2367.jpg This massage bar is flavoured with honey and hibiscus so if you happen to kiss the area you're massaging then it will taste almost as good as it feels. It's brilliant for making your skin soft - take a look at those fabulous ingredients - and superbly scented with essential oils to help you forget your worries and concentrate on the matter in hand (or hands).

I love hibiscus flowers!! Oh so tempting!!

Cindy you have helped me so much!! Thank you!! :) And of course thank you to Brandi too!! :)

Those ideas sound really cool!
I think he would really appreciate them! My other thought was maybe go away to a little lodge for the weekend?

I've thought about that, but its like a four hour drive to the mountains and he may have to fly on Saturday so I think right now i have the best plan. Though I would love to go the mountains and stay at a nice lodge!! We stayed at this awesome lodge in Banff, there was a fire place in EVERY room! it was so romantic!! I want to go back!! :)

CLOSED?!?! I didn't know they closed. Hmmm.
I remember going to the ones in Jasper and mountain goats where coming down the face of the rock trying to check things out. My parents have so many great pictures of wildlife. I remember i loved seeing everyone stopped at the side of the road shooting pictures of the animals, esp. the tour buses.
