Please read my DISCLAIMER before looking at the pix!! :D

My future sis-in-law is getting married a month from tomorrow and she, like me, is on a tight-tight budget and was considering doing DIY flowers. I have no job (temporarily) and thought maybe I could help her out. I also had a big vase of flowers that my FH bought me either 2 or 3 weeks ago this Friday i.e. they are OLD. I picked-out the pink and lavender flowers (my colors) and the ones that weren't completely dead yet, went to Wal-Mart and got 88-cent floral tape (luv that stuff!!) and spent $1.97 on some beautiful shimmery white/silver ribbon. FH only spent like $10 on this big bouquet of all sorts of colored flowers. So, for about $8, I came-up with this TRIAL of a Bridesmaid bouquet. I think it is rough, it needs more flowers (that are alive, ha) and that I TOTALLY am soooo proud of myself because I am NOT a DIY girl, I am NOT creative, but I am soooooo going to get the hang of this stuff and save myself (and hopefully my future sis-in-law if she likes them) a TON of money come wedding-time. Besides, my sister (who will be my MOH) is VERY VERY creative with flowers and I KNOW she will do a fantastic job when my time comes. Please feel free to send suggestions - I will ONLY use real flowers - just my preference is all. But, please don't say it looks TOO terrible cuz my parade is going great and it doesn't want any rain today! HA :p

And then I made some "baby" bouquets (flower girls?) with the leftovers...

Hey there was no need for the Disclaimer. They look pretty good to me. :winktongue:

As You said it needs more Flowers. We have the imagination to see more there and it'll look great on the day.

Well Done :D

Thank you. I think I need to go with MANY more flowers and obviously fresher flowers but I am now positive that I will be doing my own bouquet and the bridesmaids. My sister will be here to help that week and she is fabulous at this type of thing!! :)

That is pretty dang good for just having leftover flowers. I couldn't have done them that well.

You done a really nice job. You'll be a old pro before you know it. :)

I've learned a few things from my FMIL (she's worked for a florist for about 3 years and is doing our flowers), one thing she gets on me about (A LOT lol) is not taping high enough. She says if you go a little higher it will hold it's shape better.

Not that you need to, I'm just sharing.

I was going to say the same thing as Mrs. Goff...starting the tape higher will help keep the flowers nice and tight together so they won't fall off to the sides.

I think they look pretty :) I plan on DIY my own flowers and I'm a little freaked! I'm planning on either ordering flowers online or going to a flower shop and having them order them for me. It looks fun though!
