View Full Version : So I referred to FH as "my husband" the other day.....

We're out shopping the other day (waiting on my band to be sized)... we're walking back to the car; I'd gone around one side, and he went around the other, walking behind this truck parked next to us. As he does, the truck throws it in reverse and starts backing up, (apparently) without even looking. So he's YELLING (this was all splitsecond fast) so they'll see him. They slam on the brakes, and just sit there for a second.

So I'm panicked and pissed, and I throw my hands up in the air and shout something less-than-ladylike.... at this point the passenger window rolls down; there's two middle-aged women in the truck (big F350 jacked up diesel beastie - HUGE truck) and the driver, kinda snotty says "It was an ACCIDENT, I didn't see him." (as in, she feels I didn't need to shout at her). I said, "It's fine, I'm sorry, but excuse me for panicking when I see you're about to BACK OVER my husband."

So she apologizes and we all go on our merry way, in one piece.

Anyway, later that night, FH says to me, "Do you realize this afternoon you called me your husband?" :D

It came flying out without me even thinking about it, and I'm surprised he even NOTICED it.... but he liked it. :)

See how easy it trips off the tongue. :D

I'm always saying "My Husband" On the Telephone. For instance when Phoning about Utilities or the Car etc.
But then again We already appear Married because i already have His Surname by Deed Poll and kept the "Mrs" part when i Divorced.

So on October 11th this Mrs M becomes errrrr Mrs M

Well for one; thank goodness they stopped and didn't back over your "husband"! :bbeek:

But yeah, it is sweet that you already think of him that way; and nice of him to notice too :)

I let it slip a few times before we were really married too, though I can't think of any spesific instances.

I've done that a few times. I can't spit out fiance to save my life - it's always boyfriend - but somehow husband has tumbled out once or twice?
