Wow, what a day. I am so tired right now. The good news is that Roxie and Willough didn't immediately fight and seem to be getting along fairly well. They are figuring out each other's limits and boundaries without fighting about it, which I like!
Willough tends to ignore the cat, and he likes it that way.
After a rocky start in which Willough refused to leave her foster mom, she eventually jumped into our car (luckily we only had to drive two hours to get her!) and slept the entire trip.

Except for when we had to stop to get gas halfway back to our house and while allowing her to stretch her legs, Willough slipped her collar and ran off!!! We were desperately afraid that she was going to run into the freeway, but luckily her foster mom taught her NO and 'Come' so I yelled "Willough, NO! NO, Willough!" and she stopped and looked at me instead of heading out onto the freeway. Then I said, in the sunniest, happiest voice possible under the circumstances, "Willough, *come*" and she came to me!!! I was never so surprised and thankful in my life. After all, she'd only known me about an hour at that point, I gave the command only because I couldn't think what else to do.
Thank goodness it worked!!! This is why we all should teach our dogs a fool-proof recall . . . just in case!!!!!
After the harrowing journey I dropped Fiance off at the house so he could pick up Roxie and then we met at a dog park. The instructions for introducing a new dog to you current dog that we found online all said to have them meet for the first time in a neutral territory, and for us, that was a brand new dog park. Willough was very nervous for her first few minutes but she gradually calmed down and began to enjoy herself.
Now she's exploring the house and she and Roxie are figuring out their relationship. Willough is definitely a 'momma's girl' and she's sticking very close to me. We're making sure to give Roxie a lot of attention too and so far things seem to be going along very well.
More pics when we aren't tired to death -- and when Willough stands still for a second!
