I am getting married in December and my colors are red & white. Although my theme is Christmas, I am doing a lot with snowflakes. I'm also trying to avoid green which is so prevalent at Christmas. And I certainly know how hard it is to find snowflake stuff that isn't blue. But I bought a few snowflake punches to use on the invitations, programs, etc. I've done a lot of DIY which makes it a lot easier to incorporate red with the snowflakes. I also bought red Christmas lights on white wire. But you could also do a romance/heart/love theme which would obviously be really easy with red. Or maybe a fire & ice theme might work for you.

How about Red and Gold.
I have those Colours on My Christmas Tree every year.
Or Red and Silver look nice together.

(katrina7875 - I'd love to see some of your items - have I missed them somewhere? I am using snowflakes too and frosted raspberries, ivory, gold, pinecones.. a hodgepodge that somehow all seems to work together!)
But red would be beautiful, with white, with gold as Mitch suggested - very rich looking, you can have all kinds of combinations. Do you have any other preferences? Maybe we can help you get something together, once we know some of your taste. :D

Here is a link to my journal where I have talked about a lot of my projects and included as many pictures as possible.

Getting married during the winter season has become a popular trend. Tying the wedding knot in the icy months of the season sounds romantic as well. I think silver is a great winter wedding color. Also, think about warmer colors like warm reds, deep blues, warm greens, browns, and of course white, gold, copper would all work really nicely .:sorry:

Hey Ladies,
I loved reading all the great ideas for this Xmas time wedding. I'm sure it will be absolutely lovely. One thing to be careful of is the color red you use. I would not choose a fire engine red. I think a more subtle red maybe a deeper red that is close to marroon would be really nice and not make it look to "christmasy". Just a thought. Also there are lots of varieties of red. I would play with the combinations. They say its good to look at a paint strip that shows all the grades of the color. Best of luck!

I got Married in October 2008 wearing Red. Granted it wasn't a Fire Engine Red but it wasn't far off. It didn't look or feel Christmasy. As long as you tone it with other colours then it should be fine. I used Black and Ivory.
