So I just got an email from someone saying they changed their email and to make note. They knew my name and of course my email, but I don't think I know them.

I don't know if I just forgot someone or if they have me confused with someone else or if this is some kind phish for more info.

So I emailed them and was like "the only person I know by that name is like 10 yrs old" LOL - she emailed me back and it is her; one if DH's cousins! LOL - I didn't think she had my email address and I have not seen or heard from her since she was lik 6yrs old :p

I used to email with her mom back and forth some, but I haven't heard from her in a good while either. But I guess that is where she got my email from ;)

That is strange! woah, e-mail at 10?! I guess I can see it, but when I was 10 I think I was still watching like Power Rangers or something.

Matt works at a lower school and the other day a kid in Kindergarten got in trouble because his book bag was ringing... the 5 year old has a cell phone. Crazy!!! I do like those cell phones though for kids that only calls like two numbers (their parents or guardian) and then 911. I don't think this was one of those lol

Wow, I couldnt imagine a 5 yr old with a cell phone!

I do remember DH's cousin being smart and her mom joking about teaching her how to use the computer ;) It just struck me as odd since this is the first I have heard from her in years.

Now I am afraid I have upset her or something because she has not emailed me back. But then again, she is 10; maybe she had to eat dinner and do chores or something :panda:

She finally emailed me back; it is funny to me the things she remembers ... she asked when I cut and dyed my hair and remembers coming to my house for Thanksgiving. The last time I saw her was at least 3 or 4 years ago and she must have been 6 or 7 I guess.

She didn't know how to send pictures via email, so I tried to explain it, maybe she will reply tomorrow with pics.

She asked if I was on MySpace too; said she wanted to get on there in a couple of years - LOL - I told her I had a page and maybe in a few years I'd let her see it ;)

Wow, that is crazy. It is kind of funny to think back to when I was 10, and the most computer time I got was in computer class... and I hated it!

LOL that's great! Myspace really is taking over the world!

I remember when I was ten I did have an e-mail address (1pooh1, since Winnie the Pooh was the fifth grade fad at the time) and played Bingo on Uproar.

I remember when I was 10 my oldest brother was born and I had to help take care of him and my younger sister.

We never had a computer in the house; they didn't become that common until the 90's and I was a teen by then. The first time I had a computer in the house was after I moved in with DH (FH at the time); seems like maybe 7 years ago. My parents didn't get their first one till a few years after we did.

LOL, i remember.. Dad made us share an IM name with him so we didn't talk to creeps or anything. XD That sucked! We screwed with all the weirdos when we finally got our own, though... BWhahaha

OH, remember the guy with the balloon fetish? XD

The funnest thing was to go into Nsync chat rooms with a couple of people and pretend there was a new member named Bob. Yeah, my friends and I were dorks, haha. (This is why we also created a group called the dork sister, but that's another story for another time.)

My son is 10 and uses my Yahoo account to play fantasy football with other members of my family. His team name is BearsRock54. Once he turns 13 I'll let him get his own email address, but for now he's content to let me log-in for him and at least I can monitor what he's doing online! We have our computer in the living room, so we can monitor his activities. I read it's important for the computer to be in common areas when kids are using it. So it'll permanently be in our living room, no bedroom computers for us!

I was probably around 10 or 11 when I got my first email address, way back in the early 90s. We'd had a computer in the house since I was a year old (I was programming in BASIC when I was 6, haha), and we got Prodigy and America Online around 1991 or 1992.

I just remember joining all these online fan clubs for like The Baby-Sitter's Club, Sweet Valley High, and Full House.

I love it. Everyone is talking about not getting an email address until like 10 years old. Hahahaha. I was a freshman in college when I first got a computer. I typed my high school papers on a type writer. And back then I was still a really stinky typer so I went through that liquid paper stuff like it was going out of style. When I got to college we could all sign up for an email address but I didn't the first year because I figured I wouldn't have anyone to send anything to! I'm ashamed to admit that I also thought that email and the web was a fad. Ha! The computer lab and email server at our school had those black screens with the green letters. I finally signed up for my own email account in 1996. :) Now it's the only way you can really ensure to get in touch with me.
