Ill start this with some background info. I have three kids from a previous relationship and met my FH 3 years ago. We were both in college at that time. I took corrections and then social work, neither of them were right for me. My kids are 9, 7 and 5. I had them when I was very young. Fh moved in a little under a year after dating.

He proposed in early March 07 He had the ring for two months before he proposed.I woke up with the ring around my finger and a rose and a poem beside me. Then he woke up and got down on one knee and proposed. Aound April I found out we were gonna have a baby. She is now 7 months. She is such a good baby and we are very lucky. I am currently a stay at home mom. My Fh works at the college and he will be returning back to school for another 2 years before he graduates from Computer Programing. I will go back to school next year for nursing(which was originally what I wanted to take).

About two months ago we finally decided to set a date which will be for August 22nd 09. So we have a little under a year to plan.

Most of my plans so far have been what I want in terms of centerpeices, invitations, who will be my MoH, my guest list, etc. All my kids will be in the wedding, and will be so adorable. My daughters(2) will be the flower girls and my boys will be the ring bearer and usher. I am so excited to be planning and finally marrying my love.

Im not sure if this is gonna work but, this is the dress that I want!
http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?page=7&style=R1000

There's a funny story behinde this dress, almost like this was destined to be my dress. I first saw this dress advertised on e-bay from a seller in China. I read the reviews for the seller and he sounded legit. I came across a thread on this site that showed dress pictures advertised from China which were beautiful , but turned out hideous. So I contacted the seller and asked him if my dress would look exactly like the picture and he said not exactly, but close, so that turned me off. I was bummed that I wouldn't get this dream dress because I had no idea who actually sold it. So I was searching the internet for another dress that I hoped I would like just as much, when I came across the dress that was on e-bay the original designer was Maggie Sottero. I was thrilled that I found the dress. I reaserched and they apparently sell Maggie Sottero dresses in a shop in my City, so in two months I will go to try on this dress!I couldnt be happier about this.

This is the insperation for my centerpeices! It will be a DIY. Fairly easy and elegant . I will have colored beads at the bottom and a few real flowers floating in the water with some little netted butterflies on them.

This is my insperation for my cake. Although Im thinking of making it, I know its going to take time and stress me out, I may also end up buying it, depending on the prices.

Today I started writting down songs that I would like played and im having so much trouble because their are different age groupes attending and I want a few songes for each age groupe that everyone will like. My Fh says hes not gonna dance very much anyways and doesnt want to play any rap because his family hates rap, but there are a few rap songs I like to dance to. Music and dancing is very important to me, I want to see everyone on the dance floor at least once. I think im doing a fairly good job with some of the music selection, but I seem to be drawn to female singers more. Some songs for the more mature crowd I have are: Pat Benetar we belong together,Billy Ocean get outta my dreams, Billy Joel Pianno man, I would do anything for love by meatloaf, kenny loggins footloose, pat benatar hit me with your best shot etc...

Im sure the dj will have some good songs for the mature crowd as well, im not really sure what the hit songs were during those times.

Today I whent to the dollar store and bought some flowers so that I can make my bouquet. The flowers are light purple and some are white carnations. I also bought little butterlies to put on them. I made up a mock bouquet and it turned out pretty well. Ill post pics later. I was originaly going to go with burgandy and white, but I couldnt finde any burgandy flowers . That's fine though I wasnt set on burgandy anyways. A light purple will be easier to color co-ordinate anyhow.I also priced some things out for future reference. Im so excited because things cost less than what I was expecting so that is great news.

Fh says he wants to write our own vows, Im so glad that he is thinking about the wedding and giving his input. He originaly told me that I could plan it all, and he would show up, lol.

Today i wrote out what I would like to say as my wedding vow. I used a template from some site and added my own touches to it. Here's what I have:

I _____, take you ________ to be my husband> I want to be with you always. I choose you above all others to share my life with me in marriage. I will listen to you when you need to talk. I will laugh with you in times of joy, and comfort you in times of sorrow. I will love you for who you are, and help you to become all that you can be. I promise to love you for eternity, repecting you, honoring you, being faithful to you, and sharing my life with you. This is my solemn vow.

It seems appropriate for us.

So today I was dissapointed when I found out I might need to change my wedding date because of OSAP. Since only fh is in school now it doesnt really matter, but next year right after our supposed to be wedding we both go back to school wich could make things complicating when we get married, so we might need to postpone the wedding depending on what the OSAP lady says is best. I so hope this isnt the case. I hope us getting married won't change anything. I dont want to have to wait until feb of 2010! I should finde out within the next couple of days after FH talks to the lady. Theres nothing I hate more than a change of plans!

Agg still not sure on the date since FH hasn't talked to the OSAP lady. I love how he is so laid back and thinks that if we don't start planning untill 6 months ahead we will be fine. Fine for him maybe since im the one planning everything while he goes to school. I don't want the stress of getting things done on time, I would like to have at least a year to plan. Well heres to hoping that he asks soon. I am curious to see how long it takes him withought me reminding him. lol.

haha i wouldnt make any monetary bets that he does it without you asking. I have the same type of fh and i gotta tell you, it NEVER gets done without the assistance of us.

Lol yep that's the way some men are, and I guess those types of men need us to kick them in the rear end so to speak, so that they don't procrastinate, lol. Yesterday my fh suggested and paid for me to go see a phsychic with my step-mother. He thought it would be something that I would like to do, and he was right and it was very sweet of him. Going to the psychic was fun, she read a regular deck of cards as well as my palm and I can't get over how accurate she was. She told me what type of person I was and was bang on as well she told me that I would be moving shortly (im on a waiting list for a bigger place)she told me I would have 4 or 5 kids in my lifetime. I have 4! She told me a bunch of stuff that I can't fully remember lol because I was so shocked on how accurate she was. I saw a different psychic about 3 years ago who was just terrible and asked me a bunch of questions and seemed to go on what my answers were, so this one amazed me she only asked me one question.ANyways Fh is supposed to talk to the osap lady tommorow, so im keeping my fingers crossed.

Well Colin forgot to talk to the osap lady(even though I reminded him b4 he left yesterday). In his defence he had a busy afternoon of studying but still, I really want to know. Colin thinks that things wont change after we get married and that we can still have our seperate loans, I just want him to confirm it. So again the wait untill tommorow because she is only in twice a week. Oh when I whent to the psychic fair I asked the hotel people how much their prices were to book a hall and apparently it's only about 150$!Score! I thought it would be at least 300 or more, and I asked them how many hours that covered and they said as long as I need it.So thats good news. Now for the rant, Colin wants our couples song changed. We are having so many dissagrements about the music. He keeps telling me he doesnt want club style music because his family is going to be there and I said tough luck Im not catering to his family only. I love club music. I love dancing and im not gonna sit there and have everyone leave because they are bored. Now the plan was to play there style of music for a few hours and then play mine as well as some old classic dance songs. Gotta love footloose and old time rock and roll :). Colin also doesnt really like our theme because he says it's to feminin and I told him weddings often are. We can't agree on the same type of cake and so on...Who knew that planning a wedding could lead to so many disagrements? I certainly didn't . However I do know that all of these things can be comprimised. He can have a tier of chocolate for his cake and I can have a tier of white or rum cake for mine, and we can have another tier with a diferent flavor. As for the theme I really want butterflies, that has been my dream theme since b4 we even got engaged.I know he will go with whatever I want, but I want him to be happy with all the plans 2, and I really don't know how to do both withought ditching my theme.

It's been an awfully long time since my last post. Alot of things have changed mostly the date and by a big amount of time. My wedding date is not exactly set but the year is so it's now 2010. I want the summer(August) fiancee wants the winter. This big change has come about mostly because we whent through a rough patch in terms of saving money for our wedding. No way im having a winter wedding, I hate winter and I get inflicted with sad in the winter, so a wedding in winter is out of the question for me, so I just need to get my fiancee to see my points of view and then we can set our date:winktongue:. Oh and he supposedly wants no part of the wedding planning he will just show up. Ya right so if something goes wrong or looks wrong it's my fault, lol. I know him to well. Well heres to planning again.Cheers!

So yesterday I whent shoping for my dress and found the one! I love the planning right now it's mostly at the idea stage. I can't wait till it comes to life, but im really happy that I have a while to plan, because I can get stressed really easily, having a long time gives me a while to get things done at a slow pace. Colin and I finally agree on a date August 21st 2010. My colors are now being centered around my dress. Tan and light pink. The theme butterflies still applies they will be a variety of pastel colors, blue ,pink lilac. These butterflies are netted and will be on such things as the wedding favors, and the flowers in my centerpeices. Also on my bouquet. The table cloths will be tan and the flowers in my cenerpeices will be light pink. The centerpeices are glass bowels with those colors rocks at the bottom with floating candles and a light pink flower(gonna try to see how carnations look) in the middle. On the flower will be a netted butterfly. I think when it's all light up in the dark it will look gorgeous, but i wont know till i do a mock up. I know I can gab on and on, im just so excited, i love the planning.

So I know im thinking way ahead, and I will probably change my minde, but I was thinking of wedding favors and so i searched for ideas. I was either thinking of mint tins with kisses in them and a butterfly embelishment on them to go with my theme, or I really like these. They cost around 2.50 each. A little more than I wanted to spend per guest, but i think they are cute.

-favors are either tins with kisses in them and a fabric butterfly, or those butterfly candles as mentioned in my previous post, or an organza bag filled with kisses and a diy wine charm fastened to the ribbons
-I bought fabric butterflies to add to my bouquet and for the centerpeices
I have been able to encourage FH to disclose his opignions about the planning process. He designed the card. That was so sweet of him. It surprised me that he took the time to do that.

We finally told Colin's mom about the engagment. Weve been engaged for a long time, but we knew we weren't gonna get married for a while, so we waited. She came for a visit a couple of days ago from out of town. Surprisingly she said congratulations and gave me a hug. I didn't think she liked me before, so this came as a shock. Well she is pretty excited about the wedding and told me to e-mail her if I ever want to talk about the wedding or I need any help. I will be e-mailing hr alot as my location has now changed to her home town. Colin didn't think it would be fair if all his relatives had to drive so far and mine didn't, I had to agree on him with that. Plus if we do it in his mom's town we get the hall for free, and Colin's grandpa is a cheff, so he will be cooking the food. The only thing im worried about is that some of my friends don't have vehicles, so Im gonna have to finde them a ride, or they may not be able to make it. I have started a few Diy projects one is a flower girl bascket and the other is a pillow. I will post pictures when they are completed.
