DIY Engagement announcement card?

I want to make some sort of card to send outto people who arnt really close enough to invite to Jamaica with us for the wedding, but close enough I would like for them to have an engagement photo.

I will also be sending out the Wedding Announcements after the wedding with a wedding photo...

My problem is this, what info do you put IN the card? I would like to give them the website I have created but I dont want them to assume they would be invited... not that it would be a big deal, probally not an issue at all :snide:... but other than that what do I say?

Do we put the engagement date that was over a year ago, or the wedding date? and where it will be but then how do you let them know this isnt really an invite?

I am hoping to get my save the date/ jamaica invites done by the end of next week and would love to have these done as well for those peoples, any advice would be great.

hmmm i am not sure on the etiqute here. if it were me i wouldnt send an announcment for the engagement, only the wedding.
The reason is that the wedding is AFTER the fact and people wont be coming up to you goin "when am i getting my invitation" Thats always awkward.
My suggestion, send wedding announcments with photo, put website and somewhere on the website put somethng like "With our very closest friends and family we had were married in a private ceremony in jamica" or something.

I feel the same way. If you include people AT ALL they assume they are invited. I would send pictures with your announcement after your wedding.

I did send out a little picture book after we got engaged. I bought them for about $6 each on www.snapfish.com. However, I only sent them to people that were invited to the wedding, like grandparents and people from out of town that would never get to see the pictures and ring otherwise.
